For the price… location/facilities were excellent. Bed was comfortable. Pool and spa were also good. Restaurant excellent too.
Only commentary is that if you are sensitive to noise get an internal room. External rooms can be subjective to the noises of the nightlife in the area.

What a gorgeous hotel! Easily the most spacious room I’ve ever stayed in, with so much storage I was able to completely unpack for my stay and store my suitcase out of sight. The facilities were fabulous and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the art deco theme throughout the hotel was beautiful. Buffet breakfast was also great and even had a chocolate fondue fountain!
The only downside for me was that there seemed to be very limited/no gluten free options on the room service menu.

Great central location with all the facilities one could ask for
Our room was a duplex and the lights on the stairs were faulty and didn’t switch off at night despite management trying to. I was offered another room to sleep in but by that time I was too tired to change.

Elegant, Clean and organised, Sauna facility, private spa in our room.
Very friendly staff and 24 service.
We had a very nice stay over the weekend, they presented us with a Happy Birthday card + SA Choc block. we had zero issues. Everything went perfect.
We had 12 hours of multi car access parking and we had our luggage and cake stored after checking out til 5 pm.

We enjoyed the ambiance, decor, location and friendly staff.
The rooms and facilities were very clean.
Compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at, the Buffett breakfast could have a little more variety.

normally don’t write reviews, but this is an absolute must.
We would like to shout out a big thank you to THE Playford hotel, this hotel is a must to stay or either come in and dine and drink or two, oh and don’t forget the cocktails thank you to Tony and his crew for making a great bloody Mary, (amazing too!!!) Friday and Saturday they have live soft background music.
The staff throughout the hotel was a friendly positive vibe, restaurant staff also amazing, Gaurav, always on his toes greeting you with a smile and nothing is too hard of a special request consider it done, (thank you for our eggs, Benny) Farida running around making sure all your needs are attended too especially breakfast, you are a little rocket star.
The executive chef, Cameron, a massive, big, thank you for your special desert on our last night again Amazing, Cameron has put together an amazing menu at The Playford.. a must to try everything on his menu.
The reception staff from Brook, Reece, and Melissa a special thank you for looking after our room, friendly and professional with wealth of knowledge of what to do around the city, and in Adelaide in general. Concierge staff as well. A big thank you.
Housekeeping We left you a special thank you gift for looking after our room and attending to our special needs again. Very thorough and friendly. Amazing staff.
The sauna and wellness area just beautiful to unwind from your busy day.
Last, but not least, we did see the executive manager running around the hotel attending to every little pocket of the hotel. Making sure everything is running smoothly a massive, big thank you, it was a beautiful hotel to stay at. Old heritage charm meets modern vibe, We will be highly recommending the hotel to all our friends, colleagues, and my executive professional people in our industry.
We could not fault it

The staff were great and the facility’s were nice
The food was very overpriced and underwhelming also the ad on booking.com said I was paying for breakfast and yet I had to pay for breakfast at the hotel

We had a room with 2 queen beds which were very comfortable and the room was spacious. Bathroom facilities were very good. The location for us was excellent as we were within walking distance of a function we attended but in general is a great location. The breakfast was very good and staff very attentive.
Can't think of anything that could have been better.

We loved the restaurant and pool
I hated that the shower was over the bath
And the robes were small and scratchy

Noise from ambulances at night heading to the hospital.

The upgrades are beautiful, and have been thoughtfully styled. The room was surprisingly big, clean, and comfortable. We had an overnight staycation with our kids and they loved the pool and whole experience. It was our daughters 3rd birthday and they left a welcome plate of chocolates and fruit which delighted the kids.
The location isn’t great backing onto Hindley Street, especially for young kids. There was a lot of vomit on the ground down the alley on Sunday morning. But the hotel itself and pool outweighed this, and if you stick to North terrace we had a beautiful walk down to the river, and quick tram ride (for the kids) into Rundle Mall.

Staff were extremely helpful, genuine and down to earth.
Beautiful suite with balcony onto North Terrace (two sliding doors kept the street noise out)
Pool was a little small but wasn't the reason we went there. Room size, location and value for money were more important.

Location and recently renovated
Bar closed early on a Saturday night even though a wedding was on in the hotel and could hear this from our room Also iron in the room over heated and burnt a hole in my dress

Dirty bathroom Brown and black spots under toilet rim Soap marks on walls and taps Not what I expected for the cost to stay here per night Also didn’t replenish the coffee and sugar in the room forcing us to order a coffee in the morning and getting charged extra for delivery to the room Real rip off

The Playford is the nicest hotel I have stayed in anywhere in the world. It is very easy, everything works, power points easy to find to plug in charges, and the heated pool is open 24 hours
