While it's a short stroll to the nearest station, there aren't many restaurants nearby.

I booked 4 rooms which are pretty large by Japan standards, and I love their kettle. The breakfast spread that everyone seems to rave about is quite good. If you love salads and smoothies and everything western, this is the place to stay at.

1 of the 4 rooms that I booked was dark with limited lighting and the furniture is not well placed so my kids kept knocking into walls, bedboardm etc. Overall, we noticed that the rooms aren't very clean are dusty at some areas and the carpet is worn out and has spots. Getting to the bathroom is not easy for my elderly mum because it is higher than the bedroom floor, so you need to step up and down. Another thing to note is this hotel requires you to send your luggage to the airport 2 days earlier while all the other hotels I stayed at only needed 1 day.

Excellent and very warm vibes

Everything including the breakfast spread with lots of vegetables on the menu.

I liked everything about this Hotel. Wish I could stay longer. The only inconvenience was the rain and having to walk a lot to catch public transport. But it was still great !

Grat stay at Hotel Anterokm

Friendly staff. Art work created calm , interesting environment. Handy for Kyoto station. Could walk to Fushimi Inari shrine.

Exceptional

Anteroom hotel was surprising! Reception is full of contemporary amazing art work. You have the chance to use computers, to play Nintendo and have good time according to the thing you like most. Breakfast is complete and so rich. Our small double room was cute and comfortable. Position near the station is strategic!

Nothing at all. All was clear and nice. I would suggest just a more accurate room cleaning in hidden corners.

Great choice for a cheap stay near Kyoto station

Excellent value for money and comfortable (if compact) room.

Smoking room next to water dispenser and laundry doom can lead to an unpleasant smell at times.

Peaceful and interesting.

I liked the lobby museum concept and how they have designed artist rooms. There is a vending machine and microwave and an ice machine in the lobby. I think you can ask to rent the bikes at the lobby as well. The staff were very friendly!

The smell when I first walk in the rooms threw me off. There’s no air circulation when you first walk in as the air conditioning is off but once it is turned on it doesn’t smell as bad. One night a random mosquito appeared in the room so i had to kill it. Nevertheless for the price, I am fine with the issues i faced.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Japan for the very first time, and I must say that my experience exceeded all expectations, thanks in large part to the incredible hospitality and humbleness I encountered at the hotels I stayed in. From the moment I stepped foot in Japan, I was captivated by the warm welcome and genuine kindness extended by the people, and this sentiment was mirrored by the exceptional service I received at the hotels. I want to specifically call out one of your staff member who despite her shift log out she noticed me looking for me to locate the hotel and escorted me to the hotel reception. That was way too exceptional. Kudos ! Every corner of the rooms and common areas reflected a meticulous attention to detail, showcasing the Japanese commitment to cleanliness and orderliness. I found this aspect of my stay particularly refreshing and it further enhanced my overall experience. The staff's friendly attitude truly made me feel at home during my stay. Each encounter with the hotel staff was marked by their genuine warmth and eagerness to assist. Whether it was providing recommendations for local attractions, answering my inquiries, or simply engaging in friendly conversation, their kind demeanour made a lasting impression. Their unwavering commitment to ensuring my comfort and satisfaction was truly commendable and added an extra layer of enjoyment to my trip. Beyond the exceptional service, it was the humbleness of the hotel staff that truly struck a chord with me. Despite their professionalism and dedication, they remained humble and approachable. There was never a sense of superiority or distance, but rather a genuine desire to connect and provide an authentic experience. Overall, my first visit to Japan was an unforgettable experience, largely thanks to the humble and hospitable nature of the staff

Great value, friendly staff, stylish

Really friendly staff, there was also a good English-speaking member of staff to help us Very well decorated with interesting art Friendly staff Bath salts at the front desk were very good for a hot bath after a long day in Kyoto Slightly Futon-style with the mattress on the floor 15 minute walk from Kyoto station

Air conditioning was a bit temperamental (cold then hot at random intervals) Metro access is okay, but not right outside the hotel (nested between two stations and requires a 6 minute walk)

pleasant stay

I had a really pleasant stay at Anteroom and enjoyed the facilities. They offered free bath salts and other amenities and buffet breakfast was also very good. The hotel has a creative aesthetic to it and really enjoyed the layout of it.

The only downside was that it was relatively far to some of the main attractions, such as the bamboo forest and some of the famous temples. I travelled about 50-55mins, which I didn’t mind much as I enjoyed my stay here and the staff were friendly.

Exceptional

The hotel itself has a very cool atmosphere and ambiance overall. The facilities are extremely up to date and they provide you with any amenities you would need. The staff were super friendly and helpful as well!

If I had to nit pick, the only downside I would say is location. It's a little far from the real popular, happening areas walking wise, but this isn't a problem as long as you utilize the amazing public transportation. It's only a ten minute walk to kyoto station and 5 minute walk to the subway.

Coming back soon!

The room was very spacious and clean. Amenities were complete, but I loved that we could concoct our own bath salt mix. We were also able to leave our luggage ahead of check-in. The staff who handled our check-in can speak English so it would be easy for foreigners to communicate. The lobby had a small gallery which was very interesting. There was a special sake tasting event and calligraphy corner when we came so that's a great plus! I want to book the room with the wooden bath next time.

The pillows aren't the fluffy type but it was fine.

great place, food ,atmosphere and art

This place is wonderful! It is like you are walking in to a contemporary art gallery! The staff are welcoming and make check in very easy! I was up on the top floor and had a view out of my window seeing the mountains behind the city looking to the East. The rooms are small with high ceilings with a well thought out layout and was perfect for me as a solo traveller. The bathroom is compact but works vey well and you can even relax in the bath with some of the bath salts and relaxing herbs that you can make up in the foyer! I love how art is featured throughout the hotel! The breakfast offered is so good- fresh salsa, vegetables , eggs, meats, granola, yogurt and many patisserie treats! I would use again!

Pleasant stay with perfect breakfast

A very pleasant hotel with an art exhibition in the entrance hall. All is perfectly clean and the rooms are equipped with everything you need. The breakfast ist exceptional in the selection and quality of foods, including several vegetarian components. The way on foot to Kyoto station is about 12 to 15 minutes.

The only thing, that could be added in the room would be a kind of shelf to store things.
