Property still has to offer great spa
We paid for the room with courtyard and got room on the 1st floor, obviously without it. The carpet on the floor fell very dusty, even someone’s hair tie was laying there. Obviously lack of proper vacuum cleaning. No room service 24/7. Which is still fine but also not fine when you pay 4,8k a night. When I called and requested 2 bottles of water at 11 pm, the person on the other side told me to drink from a tap. That just absolutely shocked me

A wonderful experience at beautiful location.
The coffee station leaves much to be desired-
must have instant coffee
The coffee pods are not suitable for a 5 star establishment.
The Pod quality to the coffee machine is below a 3 star ?
sad that one wakes up in a 5 star establishment only to be disappointed by the first cup
of coffee ?

The location is perfect and the facilities are beautiful
The staff could do better. We went out one evening and had to hoot and call for the gate to be opened as the guard was not at the gate. This is particularly problematic in Joburg + The Spa reception staff MUST improve. Their attitude was not great.

the facilities and spa were exceptional.
we were treated very well by Given and Tesia.
overall the service was poor.
on the first 2 days of our guest we kept being treated as day visitors and were frequently asked if we were guests of the hotel whenever we wanted to make use of the facilities.
Our bathroom door wouldn’t close and the tv remote was not working. This was never resolved even after numerous times we reported the matter.
We had to wait for a long time to receive service at the restaurant. It was very disappointing because it was so obvious that attention was being given to overseas tourists and guests of a different race. this happened on numerous occasions. Thankfully Given and Tesia seemed to notice this and attended to us when they were available.
