Amazing hotel with beautiful Moroccan décor, from intrinsic patterns on the ceilings and walls to the many archways giving you a traditional Moroccan experience with all of the five star amenities.
The service was fantastic and the staff went above and beyond in making us feel welcome, ensuring we were comfortable and enjoying our stay.
In particular Abid and Mohammed were amazing, tending to all of our needs from arranging tours, buying local Sim cards to taking us to the best shops for gifts. They also catered for my request for a birthday cake and decorated the room with flowers and balloons.
As part of breakfast there was a nice spread of food options also providing omelettes on demand along with Moroccan tea. The waiter was very accommodating aiming to make sure that we were happy and content. My wife and daughter booked a session at the Hammam spa and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The atmosphere outside the hotel is always lively with the hustle bustle of tourists and locals, either dining at restaurants or shopping for gifts or watching street performances and music.
This was my first time in Morocco and fantastic experience for all the family and we will definitely come back Palais Zahia on our next trip and would highly recommend this hotel. Again I would like to thank Abid and Mohammed for their hospitality.

Peaceful, nicely decorated hotel, friendly staff, comfy bed, very clean
Our room was facing the pedestrian area, hence a bit noisy.

The rooms are nice and clean! Well decorated. The view from the terrace to the some part of the port is a plus.
The hotel didn’t disclose that no cars are allow to the street where it is located. Every guest walks from the main road to the hotel. Very inconvenience!!! If you have a number of baggage. I panicked when I arrived thinking the worst of the taxi driver. The hotel should make it very clear that no car is allow on that street. The hotel claimed that they have private driver with permission but I asked other guests and they also agreed with me about it. No one has seen any cars on that street it is closed for cars.
The second thing I didn’t like was the food. It was ok! There are better restaurants in the Melanie and better prices.

The staff were helpful and attentive, and the hotel was beautifully appointed. We enjoyed the traditional tea on the ground floor as well as a meal at the rooftop terrace. The included breakfast is lovely and the location . Staff were kind to our children even when they were picky eaters, and went above and beyond when we needed help with small things like changing a ferry ticket. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Location, staff, especially Miss Sakina. Who was wonderful.
The rooftop has a wonderful view.
The hotel, was completely enclosed and needed ventilation. I could smell the food and heavy air everywhere.
The toilet seats needed to be affixed to the floor because they were leaking smell from the gap.
The second room was extremely small, and I had to place my suitcase in the hallway because it didn’t fit .
TVs were not smart, old and complicated and I didn’t know how to make them work
Very overpriced.

Breakfast was delicious, with fresh fruit and juices, olives, bread and pastries, fresh coffee. Dinner one evening was likewise excellent - served in the beautiful courtyard, with a musician playing and singing traditional Moroccan music. My room and bathroom were comfortably appointed and attractive.

The hotel is right in the heart of the medina and only a 5 minute walk from the ferry which was great.
We were greeted by friendly staff who offered us Mint tea & Moroccan biscuits on arrival. We arrived early and it was no problem to leave our luggage at the hotel and go exploring.
We were travelling with our 2 children aged 11 and 14 and the family room was perfect.
Breakfast was nice and included in the price which we felt was very reasonable.
One member of staff in particular deserves a mention, Samir, he was wonderful, so friendly and helpful.
whilst the room was lovely and clean, it did feel slightly tired, especially the shower and the toilet which were both coming loose from the wall. it This did not affect our stay though and I would still highly recommend this hotel if you want an authentic Moroccan experience in the heart of Tanger.

Very helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast, great location
The smell of the sewer was in all the bathrooms, but we saw this in most riads in Morocco. We had to always shut the bathroom doors to prevent the smell from going elsewhere.

beautifull decor and roof terrace

Samir’s service was friendly and attentive during meals. Decor is great. Central location.
The room faces the street so we expected some noise at night. However what they didn’t advise us is that the local government street cleaning is done at night from 2am to 3.30am with the truck parked under our window. The generator ran for 1.5 hours. The concierge said this has been a problem for some time. So they know about it but do not advise ahead of booking.

great location by Petit Socco, very clean and friendly staff. when it is not windy the roof terrace is perfect for relaxing.
Room was a bit small with little closet space.

the property was stunning. traditional road style which is a must when you travel to Morocco. the staff was super accommodating and helpful. Samir at the restaurant was wonderful and the hammam services were excellent as well. I highly recommend doing traditional hammam with your stay. will definitely be returning.

beautiful property, nice staff, great location
3 Dinner menus to choose from were too similar - offer more selection like fish even if they cost more. Not many breakfast foods for Americans

The Riad was amazing, and the breakfast was very good. But the best thing about this place it's the staff. Friendly and welcoming, especially Abdul!

Breakfast was very good, lots of options. However I would prefer that the eggs available were fully cooked and not runny.
The room was beautiful as was the entire hotel. Our server, Samuel, was gracious and very helpful at the restaurant.
It was not easy to find the hotel or actually get to it via taxi. But it was right in the medina and close to the ocean, which made up for the difficulty in finding the hotel!

Location was perfect. Samir was particularly helpful. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The receptionist recommended the perfect restaurant- Al Aschab! You can't leave Yagier without visiting this famous fish restaurant in the commercial centre.
Bathroom was a little small.

We enjoyed our stay at Zahia. Centrally located, breakfast was great! We requested a baby cot and was in the room upon arrival. Samir was really helpful during breakfast. We travelled with a baby and the staff made us feel like home with him. Would definitely go back!
Nothing I can think of

The staff were all very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location near the Petit Socco in the medina is excellent.
A nicely refurbished building, but our room was small and smelled musty. Maintenance on the bathroom was a problem. Internet was unreliable. Bread and pastries at breakfast were stale, dinner average.

Service is the first thing to be praised in this riad and restaurant, impeccable. The location in the old city is ideal for touring. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and an oasis from the hustle and bustle of life. The rooftop terrace is ideal for a coffee and a view.
We usually like to eat outside the hotel, but so glad we didn't in this case. The food was some of the best we had in our 14 days in Morocco.

The place is beautiful and special as in the pictures. The staff is kind and helps with everything you need. The restaurant is highly recommended for dinner. The musicians during lunch and dinner make the atmosphere very special and authentic.
The location of the Riad was perfect - in the heart of the Medina but yet without noise.
This was the most special Riad we had on our 3 week trip.

This hotel is placed in an excellent location, right at the centre of the Petit Soco in the Medina. Attractions are very close and you can walk everywhere ( we arrived by train and where picked up, but arriving by car might be tricky as it is located on a Medina street). The hotel is colourfully decorated and rooms are ample, clean and have all required toiletries. The terrace has a great view of the port and the Medina top.
Breakfast is buffet, plentiful and with good variety ( scrambled eggs, cereal, several types of breads and pastries, jams, honey, butter, cheese and fruit). Service was very good, particularly Samir who is always checking on you to ensure you have everything you need.
We book the hotel with half board, and that was very disappointing: they only offer 3 fixed menus ( and they don’t allow to mix and match between them): selection overall was poor and the dishes do not seem to be the same as a la carte. If I would have known, I would not have payed for half board ( they also don’t offer alcoholic beverages)

World class hospitality from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Central location.
The room was loud at times. We could noise from the hotel and from the street.
