The cottage room was like I remember, like staying in grandmother’s house.

Perfectly adequate.

No staff to interact with. There's just you and this kiosk where someone in another country deals with check in. Very impersonal but still everything worked out quickly and efficiently not more not less than if a person had been present. However no issues came up either.

Disappointing

The antique furniture was really nice and it was a good sized room

There was no actual person at check in, there was only a kiosk. It made me feel uncomfortable having to put my id for a machine to scan it for my check in. There was a small air conditioner in the room that was off when we got.there, it was extremely hot in the room and took hours to get it to cool down.

Overall we will be back, but not rent the apartment if we have 3 people

Bed was comfortable. Bathroom very nice

My daughter slept on sleeper sofa and said was very uncomfortable. Didn’t have sheets for it. Kitchen was nice, but felt like too much wasted space for 3 people, but very nice

Passable

There were no staff members checked in by a kios. The TV did not work. Was not left but one set of washcloths when we stayed 2 nights, and there was no one there to ask for more. The bed comforter was old.

This facility was conveniently located for my trip. The room was adequate,

The bed was comfortable once I was in it. It was too high for a short, disabled person.

The bed was too high. The chairs in the “sitting” area looked very dingy and made me hesitant to sit in them. There was no soap, shampoo or lotion in any of the dispensers. The water could use filtration. It smells.

Convenient location for our purposes.

We hated the electronic kiosk for check-in. It was not available when we wanted to check in, and the attendants, while pleasant, were difficult to understand. The process was obscure and hard to follow.

It was only for two nights, so we put up with it, but will not be back.

Location was perfect for us.

This is a fire hazard waiting to happen. Only one staircase exiting the upper floor. Dog poop on the deck that was never cleaned up. Checkin was done all electronically. Beds were way too high to get into,especially for older people.

It was good for our short weekend stay but would not recommend for a longer stay.

Items that need to be reported: Toilet plunging issues- toilet continuously ran and wouldn’t flush without taking the back cover off. AC cover fallen off over and over. Broken legs on rocking chairs very dangerous and someone could fall out! Only one way down in case of a fire is extremely dangerous for second floor guests.

Exceptional

This was one of the most cleanest room I've ever stayed in! I was so impressed by the cleanliness. Also, the beds were so comfortable and the sheets and blankets were soft instead of scratchy like most hotels.

The price was a bit high considering there really was no amenities (no pool, gym, office area, or front desk clerk (virtual check-in)). Also, the location was not on the water or near anything special, so I feel the price could have been a little less.

The Inn did not have any staff onsite. We had to talk through a video to someone remote.

Nothing.

Our room had mold coming from the air conditioner which caused us sinus issues. The bathroom had a hole in the floor where there was originally a sink drain and the old sink hot and cold lines were exposed with a shut off that you could turn on and cause a flood. The room should not be rented. The Inn did not have any staff onsite. We had to talk through a video to someone remote. We had to leave and rent something else. We asked for our money back which they said they would do but it is through Booking.Com and we are waiting for our refund.

Sweet Colonial Inn

We were fortunate to find a room available in the summer at the last minute. The price was comparable to Summer rates, the room was beautifully colonial, clean, everything in the room worked, check in and check out were quick and easy. Cute Inn as you arrive on Manteo, easy access to anywhere on Roanoke Island. Nice sized fridge, microwave, coffee maker and there was even an air fryer in the room!

No ice machines but many places seem to not have ice machines anymore.

I didn’t like how we never got more towels out washcloths after one night. The used ones were not taken out and replaced

Staff was polite and accomodating, large room, good location, excellent bathroom with 3 shower heads, full (non stocked) kitchen (including stove, microwave and dishwasher), comfortable bed.

Slight musty smell from the carpet.

Booking.com dropped the ball.....our confirmation was NOT sent to the Scarborough Inn.

We did not like anything, especially that ridiculous check-in kiosk machine at the Scarborough Inn. We could not understand ANYTHING that was being said. SEE BELOW..

Booking.com DID NOT send our confirmation to Scarborough Inn. They had no reservations for us!!!! There was a HUGE mix up and we had to stay at another hotel.
