It was away from the noise and traffic of the tourist area. The attention to detail in the decor was beautiful
There were some ants in the poolside toilet, but other than that everything was spotless. The omelette chef in the morning cooked mine exactly the way I wanted it and remembered the next day, we were brought mango shakes right to our sunloungers by the infinity pool overlooking the tranquil bay.

Great view from dining area
We did not get the room we paid for, no porch/ balcony nor pool view. Manager said we got a bigger room and not interested

Large private rooms, and the restaurant was well priced and quite nice on its own little beach.
The wifi was very good and had a nice TV.
The beds were FAR too firm, it was almost like laying on a board, if they got a mattress topper, it would fix this issue. The shower head was honestly horrible, it was like a medium to heavy trickle, and as it was so close to the wall, it even hard to stand under. We were in room 309, so it would be a good idea to get the shower fixed.

The staff was great, beautiful location. Out of the way so it's a double edge sword because it is very peaceful but you need a taxi to see anything.
Too far from main road.

Fantastic value, great pools, huge room, awesome service and restaurant staff, food was always tasty.. ☺️
Bathroom recently renovated in the family room which was great, except they had the floor not running towards the drain so it meant the shower water flowed out to the room.. lol... We used the bath and small shower head, 🤣
Location is ok for relaxing and being out of the crazy.. not ideal for walking around though. A 10min walk will get you on to the main road in chalong, and then you need to find yourself some local eateries... There is a great one 10min left down the road (Grab 2023 award winner) which is great.
It wasn't really a super kid friendly place... What I mean is that the clientele was mostly couples, or small friend groups and our 3 kids stood out in such a serene, quiet location. Lol... It was fine, but there are other hotels more suited for families with young kids.

I choose this hotel because it is close to Chalong Pier. As I did several dive trips, I wanted a place close to where the boat leaves. Takes about 5 minutes with a scooter to the pier. I liked the breakfast, although my partner complained that it is always the same: Fruit, joghurt, noodles, rice, French toast, egg (omlett, fried, scrambled, boiled), toast, bread, coffee, tea, juice, ham, jam, saussage, ... as much as you can eat 06:30-10:30.
They have two pools. We stayed in the one further away from the beach as the was more shade.
Internet was good.
The hotel restaurant is also a public one with Thai and international food (good). If you do not want to leave the hotel, but do not want to eat at this restaurant, you can order in. I installed Thailand Grab, which is availible in English, also. Worked just fine.
Without a scooter, motorbike or car, you have to walk about 20 Minutes to the main road.
The beach at the hotel is tiny and not for hanging out there. You can stay comfortably at the infinity pool next to the beach, though.
We stayed in room 301, which is next to a maintenance area. Not the best room, if you want to have a quiet room as the workers work and talk there starting early in the morning.
The bed (matress) was too hard for me. After addressing the issue with the reception, they changed the matress to a softer version. Reception staff speaks limited English, but is always trying to be helpful.

the ocean setting
the pool
the cleaner man was lovely :)
villas are not well organised.
no separation from living to sleeping
sloppy shower
the bed was AWFUL. no cushions, nothing to sit on comfortably ( the hotel did provide us with minimal cushions but we had to buy everything to make ourselves comfortable )
the staff don’t seem to be allowed to have character, be animated, or have fun. management are more like prison wardens. we felt watched and we felt like they didn’t want us there. the welcome was the worst I’ve ever experienced. having travelled all day with a little baby, elderly mother and staying a significant amount of time - there was no welcome or customer service. pay the bill, here’s your room.
the restaurant was extortionate - in 2 months we are there 4 times. food next door at the yacht club is way better and cheaper!!!
this is a 3* pretending to be a 5*
customer service costs nothing
so much could be done for little money to improve this hotel.

All the staff are amazing. They made us feel like family. Nothing was too much trouble. The setting is fabulous and the accommodation is very clean and comforatable. The resort is away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to all sites of interest.
I wish we could have stay longer!

The staff were very friendly. The rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable. The main building's top most floors had amazing views of yachts and the Big Buddha Statue. Two pools so it's nice and quiet. Breakfast buffet was okay. Hotel offers tour options.
I stayed based on a friend's recommendation but if it were me and as a solo traveller I wouldn't stay simply becuase it was far away from everything. The hotel was not near a main road so it didn't have any convenience stores or restaurants within easy access. If you're on the top floor of the main building you will be climbing stairs. I was on their top most, 5th, and after a night out it's exhausting. Plus for checking in and checking out carrying your own suitcases is hard.

very pretty tropical hidden hotel
location looks good on the map, however the driveway to the hotel is a 25 minute dirt track walk and then a further half hour to even find a shop. I wouldn’t say it’s on the beach either more like the hotel is build up to the sea. you can’t walk along the beach and the privet beach. no sun loungers and probably 4 meters wide. poll area is pretty but I personally only counted 12 sun loungers across two large pools, there wasn’t even space to add more.

The resort is located in the middle of wilderness, with a very tropical setup.
The staff is super friendly, they have airport pickup and drop off very on spot and reliable.
The swimming pool is nice and they clean your room everyday.
The furniture was very old and had that smell which was not necessary bothering.
Breakfast however had a very poor selection, almost never changed. The resort overall looks nice but definitely needs refurbishment, pool included.
The lightning in the room was extremely poor

The place is really atmospheric. Nice small houses with vacation interior, jungle trees, big pool and small own beach.
Breakfast is pretty basic. Tired of eggs and ham after 10 days in a row.
Blanket covers are not real (just folded sheets), such a small, cheap and annoying issue. I hope the hotel will buy real blanket covers.

The service was superb, staff friendly, the room so nice. They upgraded my room from pool view to sea view because of my birthday!
You need to walk a bit to go to convenience stores etc.

Aochalong Villa Resort was a very nice relaxing place to stay, sadly we were there only 3 nights and it rained heavily most of the time.
Hotel was great, but weather was awful.
