I have stayed in this hotel many times over the decades but not for some time and so it’s sad to see it’s deep decline. It’s a sharp reminder that when neglect sets in then it’s an up hill struggle to ensure high quality maintenance. I have numerous complaints that I wish to list but will do a more detailed review on other platforms. My main concern was the lack of understanding or acknowledgment of Health and safety arrangements. The glass doors leading to the balcony, heavy as they were came out in my hands, landing and on both of my feet bruising them both badly. I was in a state of shock and placed the heavy door against the wall before phoning reception. A maintenance man came and made a very make shift attempt to fix the problem. He told me not to use the door as it was dangerous. That evening will reported the matter to senior management who said the matter would be sorted immediately. The next day I complained to management once again. That afternoon on returning to my room I could hear broken glass. There were five or six people inside the room who all explained to me that a member of staff had just been taken to hospital because the glass door had fallen on him. I was in a state of shock and thought that could have so happened to me or my husband the night before. I was so upset for the staff who clearly could see how dangerous the situation had become. There was glass everywhere and although they cleared it up. There was still glass underfoot. This situation was intolerable and when I mentioned the Health and Safety Legislation that they should have been aware of and how this accident could have been completely avoided. The employee was given stitches at the hospital but the truth of the matter is that he could have lost his life. And all of this could have been avoided if the situation had been made safe in the first place. My husband and I no longer felt safe at the hotel and so decided to leave immediately.
The way we were treated. With great disregard and disrespect. It was as if our complaints and concerns didn’t matter.

We checked in late and the staff were very helpful. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast and the serving staff on duty. The lady (Peris FB Supervisor) manning the Food & Beavarage was such a lovely person and the guy who attended to us, (George Mburu had fantastic service) we felt comfortable and valued.
The gate Security guy (Joseph Ntuyai) made us feel welcome & safe.
The staff were amazing

Location to the beach.
There was no water in the rooms. We had to flash with buckets. The water from the taps was very salty. The staff are quite slow. The food was bland and there were a lot of mosquitoes in the rooms.

food and staff were great. Location was great.
Shower was cold no matter which way you turned it. Water in the taps and shower was salt water. A lot of the fittings were incredibly rusty and dated.

The location was great.
The cost of the food and the availability of the items on the menu. Hardly anything on the menu was available. The small bottles of coke was over $2.

The staff! They went over the top to make sure we were comfortable. In terms of facilities, the place has lost a bit of its shine, but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff made up for all of it. I hope their employer treats them as the diamonds they are! The room was OK, the bed comfortable. The hotel is right on the beach and has the most amazing views. The breakfast and dinner were good overall, the food options varied daily and everything was fresh. What was also nice is that the location of the breakfast and dinner would change - we had dinner on the poolside one night, and on the beach the other. It was wonderful overall!
You could tell that the hotel lost its former glory - we heard that it changed owner and it has not been kept as well as it used to be. Everything is a little old or outdated (but as said, the staff makes up for it!). There was construction ongoing in one part of the hotel but it did not bother us much. What I didn't like was that the shower water was salty, and so is the pool water, and you'd just never feel really clean. Also we were told the Deluxe room would have a jacuzzi and the photos were showing a nice bathroom, but ours was very old and the jacuzzi (in the shower tub) was not working. The bathroom was much smaller and older than the photos showed. Overall I'd say it was a bit overpriced, but it falls right within the price ranges in Diani.
