Very enjoyable stay. The view from the bed and the lanai are as advertised and are the highlight of this unit. The swimming pools are nice though the weather was a little cool for swimming at this time of year. The grounds are well kept. Do note that this is a bit of an older unit. If your expectation is a Ritz Carlton, then you may be disappointed but that was not what I was looking for anyway. Many things to do on the island.

We absolutely loved this place! The view is spectacular, the location within the resort is convenient, the bed was super comfortable, and the resort was perfect. Only complaint is same as others, it’s a bummer there’s no microwave, but the commune kitchen was very close and the hot pot came in handy as well. The beach chairs and cooler came in handy.
We stayed for six nights, it would have been nice to have been given more than two small bars of soap and a tiny shampoo and conditioner - maybe double up on that for guests staying longer than a few nights. We went to the front desk and they gave us more for $1 which is just silly.
Would absolutely stay again!

We had a wonderful time in this beautiful place! The view from the apartment was just awesome! We will be back again! The only complaint was the bar/food place lucky.it was so expensive with hardly any food.only ate their once!

We had the best time staying here! It was a great location -near the pool, hot tub and bar/ restaurant area. The condo had everything you need for a beach day. Loved the view of Hanalei Bay from the porch and it was a great spot to watch the rain. Would definitely come back!

Amazing view on the third floor, a lot of amenities to use on resort, right next to happy talk lounge and pool. Very nice and Hawaiian feel. Bed was comfy. Walking distance from the beach. Check in and check out was super easy, would definitely stay here again. Thank you Dave!

Had a great stay but didn't do much at the resort as we were busy exploring the island. Would like to come back and spend some time relaxing as it really is a beautiful and scenic place! Communication from Dave was perfect and led to an easy and uneventful process. Thank you!

Property owner is amazing communicator, very customer service oriented and great guy which made our stay extremely easy and enjoyable. Great location on North end of island. Bed was very comfortable and view was lovely. The only thing I was not aware of was no elevator and room is located on 3rd level. I may have missed that in property description and only noting for anyone who may have any type of disability issues.

Everything at Hanalei Bay Resort catered to your senses and relaxation. The unit was ideal and everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The owner, Dave, advised us well ahead of time regarding any info we might need regarding the unit and the Resort. Would definitely stay here on our next trip.

The studio unit was all we needed for our short stay on the north shore and the location was central to everything we planned to see and do. The only thing missing was a microwave. The best part of our stay was waking up to views of Hanalei Bay each morning.

Has everything you need in this studio. Loved having a toaster to do a quick breakfast, and the mini fridge was perfect for drinks and food for lunch. Bed was very comfortable. The best part for me though was the view. I loved the location on the property. Would love to stay here again.

The Hanalei Bay views were stunning and the studio was perfect for us - comfortable and great location with proximity to some of the best beaches in Kauai. The access to the Puu Poa beach with hotel golf cart was also a great surprise- great for snorkeling!

The view was even better than the pictures, which was hard to believe. This unit is located very close to parking, the lobby, and the amenities. It was perfect for just me but would suit two people nicely as well. The bathroom is large and spacious, with large mirrors so 2 people could easily get ready at the same time. The resort staff were wonderful and the views from the bar can’t be overhyped. I would stay here, specifically in this unit, again or recommend it to anyone visiting Kauai. Thanks!

We loved having a view from the room and the great balcony with table and chairs. Good location for restaurants and grocery store. On site pizza restaurant was really good. Loved the walk down to the beach to watch the sunset.

We enjoyed our stay in Princeville. Dave's place was as promised with a wonderful view out on the lanai, very comfortable bed and comfortable patio furniture which was a huge plus. The only minor complaint I have is that there was water all over the entryway upon arrival (I believe from the fridge?) which was a bit inconvenient. Otherwise, it was nice being in close proximity to the pool, restaurant, and entrance of the complex. I think this unit would benefit from having a hot water kettle to make tea or coffee (rather than use the microwave in the hospitality room downstairs). For us, that would've been a major upgrade! We enjoyed our stay and would gladly return.

This property located in Princeville (north island) was a beautiful clean property and had all the amenities listed. The view from the balcony was stunning and the resort was clean, safe and easy to access. The property owner, Dave, was a joy to deal with and answered all questions in a very timely manner.

This property was perfect. The unit was very clean. It had everything we needed and then some. The bed and pillows are so comfortable. The views from the balcony were breathtaking.
The resort itself is very clean and friendly and helpful staff. The hot tub is not currently working which was disappointing. The restaurant is good on site but closed Wednesdays. It would be nice if it were open everyday including lunch. We would definitely rebook this resort and unit again in the future.

Lovely and serene property with beautiful views of Hanalei Bay and the mountains. Very nice restaurant on site with great local entertainment. Makai Golf Course nearby and nice walking path around it.

First off, Dave was nice to work with when we had to change the dates for our visit. He was prompt in messaging and refunded me the difference. The only annoyance was that Vrbo didn't allow partial refund on the service tax, even though we changed the date well before the cancellation period, but that's not a knock on the host.
The resort itself is beautiful, much better than other similar 3-star resorts. We loved the beautiful Koi pond and the view of the Hanalei Bay. They also provided transport to and from the beach since it was kind of far to walk. Our balcony had a nice view of the entire resort area and one of the highlights of our trip was sitting there at night enjoying a cold beer and poke from the nearby Foodland. The room is cozy with a really comfy King bed and nice cushy chairs.
With that said, some things with the room could be better.
The wooden balcony sliding door is broken and gets stuck a lot, the toilet chain was loose and fell off and I had to fix it myself, the shower drain occasionally gets clogged, and my wife found a small cockroach crawling out of the sink one night.
We wished that there was some sort of heating element in the kitchen area, like a small toaster oven, to heat up food in the morning.
Also we were given a very small amount of shampoo/soap (enough for about 3-4 showers) and the resort charges a fee to get more. It's not a big deal but still a surprise annoyance.
Overall we had a good experience and would love to come back if the above issues were addressed.

Can't beat the view from this place. So nice to sit out on the balcony any time of day.
The place was clean and comfortable. Lots of books and beach chairs, boards, etc. Rather far from the beach but the resort provides transportation...to and from.
Laundry facilities are also far away. The pool and hot tub were great...and nearby. The grounds were beautiful.
Would have been nice to have a microwave. We were able to use one in the Hospitality room, but would have preferred one in the room.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hanalei Bay Resort. The view from the 3rd floor balcony is amazing. We were also happy with its central location. It’s a short drive to many beaches and towns. The only negative is the extra resort fee which was my own fault for not reading the description correctly. Our host was very easy to communicate with even though he lived in Colorado.

This is a great location if you want to be in Princeville where most of the resorts are. Hanalei Bay Resort isn’t so much a “resort” but more of many units owned by timeshare holders. Again, it’s a great spot. This specific unit could use a little TLC. The dishes in the cupboard could have used a bit more cleaning and only one of the three light bulbs in the bathroom light worked so it was a bit dim. BUT the unit came with beach chairs and a cooler and beach umbrella. That was great. Overall, I’d recommend this place if you are going to spend the vast majority of your time enjoying the gorgeous north shore of Kauai. Did I have a great trip? Yes. Would I stay here again? Up for debate.

Unbelievable views. You can wake up to the view of Hanalei Bay from your bed. Conveniently located in princeville.
Resort community has a beach that is basically private (very hard for anyone else to get to). The Beach is also great for snorkeling.
Only drawback would be is that the unit is very dated. Furniture is old. That said the price reflects it well. Owner is kind to put a lounger and comfy chairs in the patio (which is quite large), beach chairs and other necessities.
Highly recommended!

We have been to this resort a couple times, first time in this unit. The view from the lanai was breathtaking. Waking up to the lush mountain backdrop and seeing Hanalei Bay- no better place to forget your worries and simply relax and center.

Outstanding view of hanalei bay! Short walk down to the beach, caught a few fish which was a major plus. Plenty of wildlife, we loved all the nenes in the area. Plenty of food options around or a quick drive to foodland. Overall would 100% stay here again. Absolutely loved it!

I wish I had taken the time to write in the guest book that sits just left of the sliding doors.
We had a lot of good to say about the place, area and staff that we didn't write because we were so busy enjoying our stay.

All the locals we talked to around the island said “wow, what a great place” when we told them we were staying at Hanalei Bay Resort. It’s such a great resort. The room and owners are great too, everything is as advertised, check in and check out was smooth. Place was clean. Great views. I highly recommend this place and would definitely look to stay here again if we ever make it back to Kauai!

My husband and I traveled to Kauai for the first time and couldn't be happier with staying in this condo. The resort is amazing and the views from this condo are to die for. My husband and I spent many hours in the morning drinking coffee and in the evening having cocktails from the lanai. We loved the unit's location with it being so close to The Happy Talk bar and restaurant that is open on site from 3 till 9. We enjoyed their live music too but not to worry if you dont like noise because the resort is super quiet thereafter. My only complaint would be there was a small gap under the front door & a rip in the bottom of the lanai screen that I believe let a few critters in. We killed a few spiders in the bathroom and tried to rescue the baby gecko in the closet but he was too fast to catch. Hopefully he found his way back out. Really though thats minor. We greatly appreciated the beach chairs and cooler provided. The bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable. This unit is on the 3rd floor without an elevator to access it so that may need to be taken into consideration for some. Overall we are so happy with our stay and think Hanalei Bay is definitely the prettiest part of the island. You could not leave this resort for your entire vacation and be content!

Our stay at this condo was absolutely great! The view from the balcony was breath taking. The bed was literally the most comfortable one I have slept in- ever! The condo is smaller but really has everything you need. Even with just a mini kitchen we were able to eat breakfast and lunch most days with no issues. The grill setup by the other pool is great for grilling burgers or even breakfast tacos. We spent a good amount of time out exploring and the resort was a great place for chill time in between. We really enjoyed using the cooler and beach chairs provided with the unit. I think it is important to do your research about the resort as a whole ahead of time. There is no onsite breakfast or lunch and the pool bar is closed. We knew this going in so planned accordingly. In the end- this definitely worked out great for us as we saved money by just bringing the cooler to the pool. This place was perfect for us and I would highly reccommend!
