The property was exactly as advertised! The house was beautiful and clean. Andrew and Manolo were wonderful hosts who answered questions promptly. The view is spectacular and you are definitely surrounded by nature. We were able to access the house with a standard car, but would recommend (and it was recommended to us) to rent a car with a higher clearance (like a Jeep). Thank you for such an amazing vacation!

very peaceful, secluded, well equipped house, no near neighbours, and wonderful views across to Africa - which made leaving the house to explore other parts of the area a difficult decision! given this is in the middle of a national park, do not expect to simply be able to walk back after an evening in Tarifa - it is a good 15 minute drive over rough unmade roads : making a 4x4 recommended (our economical susuki jimny rental was ideal) the weather was fantastic. it was windy but still warm or even hot most of the time. we enjoyed a lovely day at the pool, but beware the makeshift metal walkway to the pool, which flexes as you walk over it! other 'rough edges' relate to : - bathroom doors not being able to lock (with some not actually shutting!), - insect wildlife that made it into the house (tiny ants, and harmless woodlice) - lack of a 'house guide', to provide information for the things like electric trip switch, and wifi passcode altogether, not so bad, and outweighed by the location, and nearby owner, who was friendly, helpful and available in an unforeseen crisis. as a couple, we knew this was far to large for our needs (though we enjoyed the freedom its isolation afforded!), but if traveling as a group, this would be a perfect, and surprisingly cost effective place. we could easily have stayed longer...

a beautiful place, quiet, in the middle of a natural park, the house had every possible comfort. the view from the swimming pool was astonishing and the BBQ in the evening was perfect with friends and so romantic for couples. as we enter the first time we found everything clean,the kitchen ready to use,every toilet (it has 4toilet) in perfect condition...it has been a great holiday!!

We very much enjoyed our stay at Casa Costa Tarifa! The home is located in a very unique and biologically diverse region which is perfect for those looking to get away from the crowds of the city and enjoy the natural beauty of Spain. The location is ideal for accessing the gorgeous beaches in the area and hiking through the meadows. The views from the house were just stunning and the house was very well equipped to provide all of the necessaries for a "home away from home." As ecologically conscious family, it was great to be able to travel and stay in an off-grid home powered by wind! Wind is very plentiful in Tarifa so there was never a shortage of electricty! We would highly recommend Casa Costa Tarifa and hope to visit again!

We had very high hopes for this house when we reserved it as it looked to be in a beautiful setting and we hoped it would be a quiet and relaxing place for us to stay. Unfortunately the beautiful view was the only thing good about this house. The owner, who lives somewhere else (he's an absentee renter which is good to know if you don't speak Spanish), had us meet a local person who ‘watches’ over the house for him. This person does not speak any English at all so communication can be quite difficult if you don’t know Spanish. Still it’s possible to get by with the basics so that was ok but is good to know. We were able to follow him to the house down a road that is quite rustic and not really suitable for a normal rental car (even though the owner will tell you it can work, but another good to know). The listing does mention a 4x4 is recommended and I’d say that is definitely true. The house itself is up on a hill with a very nice view, but unfortunately the yard and area around the house is littered with garbage, unfinished electrical wiring and I assume plumbing. There are also two large RVs parked on either side of the house that are very unsightly. When we got in the house we noticed we had only 1 towel for the 2 of us. We wrote the owner and he had the guy watching the house buy us some towels and bring them over. The house itself is full of flies and ants, but not something to be unexpected as the house is in a ‘natural park’ (really an old military base). We’ve rented houses in remote areas many times in the past and are used to this situation with the bugs so it wasn’t a big deal for us. Just deal with the bugs in the house and the rest of the time it's just bug maintenance. Also we always keep all of our food in the refrigerator to make sure we don’t attract any ants. So this bug situation alone wasn’t any sort of deterrent for us staying in the house. Unfortunately flies and ants aren’t the only bugs in the house. As soon as we got into bed we noticed a jumping bug in the bed. After doing a little quick research and from past experience with pets it was pretty obvious it was likely a flea, not good! We checked beds in another room and found the same thing. We also noticed that all the beds were covered in hairs and the sheets clearly were not washed before we got there. Very bad considering you are charged a cleaning fee while staying at the house. Also very unsanitary. This next part is critical if you've done
