The best accomodation I booked all year.
For a decent price you get to stay at a beautiful property with a very friendly and helpful host.
The view was amazing, the rooms were clean and the location is much better than it seems when looking at a map. Quiet area, easy access to lyon via bus and good restaurants nearby (we had fantastic recommendations).
One of the few accomodations I'd book again in a heartbeat.
Only downside was that the wifi didn't work too well which I didn't care about personally.

I could not think of a better place to stay when traveling near Lyon. The room was comfortable and the location was excellent, but what made our visit special, was the vegetarian dinner offered by the host in her incredibly beautiful decorated home and the very pleasant conversations we had. She also was very helpful in pointing us in the right direction to visit the old town of Lyon the next morning and to a very nice place for lunch.

Very Beautiful old french villa (maison bourgeoise apparently!) with a really nice host, who was very kind and helpful. Had a short but great stay, will definitely return if we’re in Lyon again.

Florence was a great host, very accommodating and friendky, with great tips for the local area.

A highly unique place to stay in the Lyon area. The villa is charming and the grounds are beautiful. The pool was great, as was the tennis court. You share the facilities with a few other guests, but much of the time we had the impression that we had them to ourselves. We were just looking to relax and Villa Castel was perfect for that purpose. But the villa would also make a great jumping off point for exploring Lyon and the Beaujolais. It's remarkable that it's so close to Lyon, but once you drive through the gates, you have the impression of being not only in a different place, but a different time. (Many thanks, Florence!)
