We stayed in this home while visiting the nearby Universal Studios. The home was well within walking distance and is in a beautiful location. The back garden is a lovely retreat, I really enjoyed the smell of the lemon tree!!!

Had a great week-long stay near Universal Studios in Studio City. Was visiting family, so we didn't spend a great deal of time at the property, but the beds were comfortable, the showers were hot, and the location was convenient.

Neighborhood was nice and quiet. The location was perfect for a short drive over to Universal Studios. The host gave some great tips for getting around and the property had everything we needed. Overall a great stay and I would recommend for families coming to the area.

Overall, location & property itself was good. Great access to universal studios. That was only a 30 minute walk however, the closest supermarket was a 50+ minute walk & everything else had to be accessed with uber. There is an expensive, very limited corner store but we were a party of 9 & could not depend on them. I had communicated that we would not have a vehicle so that was a little disappointing. Considering the location i personally think the stay was slightly overpriced. There is no netflix or disney + but there was an xbox. However, I did appreciate that i needed an earlier check in & it was granted.

Very neat and clean. So close to Universal Studios and Hollywood Stars Walk. Parking was tight but still was able to get a spot close to the house. Nice quiet neighborhood.
Definitely will re-book this place again.

Great home in a great area. Our family of 6 fit in this 3 bedroom house with lots of room to spare. We were out all day and just came home at nite where we watched tv together and slept. 2 bathrooms was a plus. Always felt safe.

My family and I had a great time staying at this Hollywood Hills location. Clean, cute, and close to our activities in Downtown LA, Burbank Airport, and Universal Studios. Plenty of room for a family and a good amount of household amenities. Quiet and safe neighborhood. I had great communication with the host and check-in and check-out was easy. Walking to the nearby store was also very convenient. We would definitely consider staying here again.

It was a pleasant stay, easy check in/out process, and the house was very clean. A stones throw away from Universal, would stay here again!

This was a great location for our family to stay for our whirlwind Universal Studios/California road trip! Everyone had a place to sleep, the oldest teen had his own basement cave to inhabit in the evenings, and our dog was quite comfortable in the home and the small yard with *lots* of trees and plants to sniff!

I love the house. But not as clean as I would have liked. I clean houses myself. This house needs a very deep cleaning. And decorations are very old. Curtains were ripped. Under beds very dirty. Need more blankets. And pillows. The walls and baseboards for sure needs deep cleaning. Corners and back of toilets dirty. I would have given all 5 if it was cleaner. Get someone else to clean a professional.

The home was perfect for our family of 4. Great location. Especially if you are planning to go to Universal.

This is a nice home and location is great. Downstairs study/bedroom has no door, just stairs down into the room, just FYI. It was fine for our daughter, especially with the fan on so she had some white noise while sleeping. The kitchen has very basics for cooking- no spices, oils, etc like you find in some VRBOs so if you plan to cook a lot you will need to stock up. Need to bring your own laundry detergent, trash bags, and soap/shampoo. We were not bothered by any of this- the extra room and 3 separate beds, 2 bathrooms made up for any of this as we were happy to be in a nice quiet neighborhood home instead of a small hotel room. Uber to Universal Studios was about $11-$15. We would stay again.

Great little place to stay for our group of 7 adults and 2 kiddos. Here are some of our pros and cons.
Pros: outdoor patio was so relaxing and we spend a lot of down time hanging out in the shade w/ the fan. Washer and dryer. Location-easy to get to everywhere we wanted. A/C. Keurig. Reclining couch seats. Comfortable beds. Plenty of sheets/blankets/pillows.
Cons: parking. No bath mats. No wash cloths. Not enough towels (had to use a towel in each bathroom as a bath mat). No spatula to use on the grill. Water/ice dispenser kept shooting out ice and water.

Quiet and close place to stay near Universal
So happy we stayed here - 5 minutes from Universal but a world away. Loved sitting in the garden at the beginning and end of the day for a quiet moment with beautiful views. Comfortable and roomy house.

We absolutely love this place! The size was perfect for my ur family trip- we went out to California to celebrate my nephews birthday at Universal studios and the drive there was very short!
Our host was very nice to leave tips and things to do around the place. The neighborhood seemed very safe, there was “market” within walking distance. Overall we were very pleased and would like to re book for any further trips.

We have stayed in many VRBOs internationally and nationally. Although the location of this property was extraordinary in the Hollywood Hills, the upkeep and cleanliness was less than desirable. We spent a portion of our vacation time cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms, refrigerator, and rooms. There were not enough towels, sheets that fit, and kitchen utensils, cups, etc. Towels and sheets were stained and worn. The owners did respond by delivering a small barbecue as listed on website and extra towels. It seems to us that the property was put on the list without first updating and appropriately cleaning and stocking. We contacted the owners, had one discussion but no action was taken. This property has great potential but is badly in need of work inside and out and TLC.

My family traveled to LA for Thanksgiving and stayed a week in this Hollywood Hills home. Overall the trip was great.
Pros:
The location is perfect as it’s blocks away from restaurants, shops, a Starbucks, and even a short hike to Universal Studios. It’s a very short drive to Hollywood Blvd as well. Even though it’s so close to everything, it feels tucked away and secluded in the hills. Check in process was simple, the keypad worked great, and the owners even checked in on us the first night to make sure everything was okay. There were lots of towels, easy to use television sets, good WiFi, and an amazing perch in the backyard to look out at the hills.
Cons:
The place was what I’ll call “broom swept clean.” Meaning there wasn’t anything major that stuck out upon entering; it was tidy and we could tell that they had just cleaned before we came. The place could use a DEEP cleaning, however. My son is 6’ 4” and he could see a layer of dust on top of the fridge that has definitely been mounting for months (or longer). Vents and ceiling fans could also use a cleaning. Many of the “clean” kitchen utensils in the drawers had grease and dust on them, with a couple having some sort of sticky syrup or something on them. We wiped down the kitchen and bedrooms and tossed the utensils all in the dishwasher and so it wasn’t an issue. While there lots of towels, there were only 3 clean wash cloths and 1 crumpled up inside the downstairs medicine cabinet. We weren’t sure if it had been used to clean, so we just bought a couple more when we made a store run.. Even if it were clean, when there are 4 people staying for a week, it would be nice to have extra. The backyard could also use a little maintenance, but it was fine.
The pros definitely outweigh the cons, which is why I can still give it a 5 star review. If the owners just make a couple of minor tweaks, this place would be one of the best values on VRBO! I’ll definitely consider them again when we travel or have friends or clients traveling to LA.

This house is a 30 min walk from Universal (or a < $20 Lyft ride as of Oct 2021), so it is very convenient! The house itself is nice as well and you can tell the owner is fond of the property (and not some big cooperate entity). My lower rating is due to the cleanliness of the property as we found it. The kitchen counters and bathrooms were clean and the floors were swept. However, there were layers of dust on the fans and window sills, my socks were filthy after an evening of walking around the house, there were crumbs on the kitchenette table when we got there, and the cabinets and walls and most of the light switches had dirt, built up grim, and splatters on it.

This property offered a great location for the start of our southern California getaway. It was very convenient to downtown LA which we enjoyed. The neighborhood was really cool. Fun to walk up and around the streets and see the great views. We also enjoyed the perched terrace atop the backyard, giving us a cool view of the Hollywood Hills. Overall, we loved our stay and were comfortable in this home, yet it was a little dirty and unkempt. Dirty dishes were left in the dishwasher and some of the other "clean" dishes were not clean. And the "comfortable hammock" in the "oasis" of a backyard was quite an overshoot.

Everything was perfect, the house was everything as described, it was the perfect location for us, 5 minute car ride from Warner Bros Studios, Universal Studios, 10 minute car ride to walk of fame. The house itself was clean, 3 comfy bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, cold central air, my son loved the basement bedroom with the private bathroom and private entrance. The property itself is located in the hollywood hills and it was absolutely beautiful, if you walk to the top of the hill you can see LOT 40 which is the location of the Psycho House and the set of a Tom Cruise movie "War of the Worlds" it was really cool to see the set as it was left in place from the movie. Very cool location, and quite honestly a very good rate for it, Ann could easily get more than what she is asking for. Thank you Ann for the great rental!!

This home is definitely not fancy. There are lots of chips and scrapes in the paint of the walls and furniture. The bathroom grout and shower curtain is stained. Everything is dated. All the kitchen ware is the cheap stuff. The washer dryer is outside and filthy.
BUT - The beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning works great. Spacing of the house was good (except small kitchen). And the location was great for a family going to Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Hollywood in general.

Super close to Universal studios. Literally 5 min by car.
Tucked into a nice neighborhood. You can actually see the Hollywood sign from the living room - but its a side view.
House could have been cleaner. Floor needs a mopping. We had to wash dishes before we could use them. Thats our only complaint.
Great svc from the manager. Microwave was kaput, and they came out and put in a new one. Gave us a little discount for our trouble.
Fun downstairs suite that was perfect for our oldest kid.
Quality WiFi.
It was great for our family of 5.

First experience with temporary rental. Home Away came to the rescue with an seamless / immediate rental when the Host of a competing rental service started acting shady and irresponsible at the last minute.
Thank You Home Away for the wonderful stay.

Comfortable house for the six adults ( 20s thru 80s). Fireplace didn't work which was disappointing as it was 55 and raining our entire stay. Didn't get to enjoy the outside patios which i have to imagine are just lovely on a sunny day with great views. Near everything highway, grocery, Universal 5 minutes. Did NOT get TV working and the instructions did not help. If that's a must w/ small children, def get owner assistance
