The two-level accommodations suited our family situation perfectly, with some family members enjoying the private space on the lower level while other family members gathered on the upper level. The large deck with grill was great for getting together and enjoying the outdoor space with food and drink. The beach is just a short walk down the hill from the cabin, with plenty of beach chairs and activities, like ping pong and badminton for all to enjoy. Our grandchildren enjoyed the play area with swings, slide and clubhouse. While we were there we shared the sandy beach with a few other families now and then but there was plenty of beach space to have your own private space. Before arrival, during our stay, and after our departure, communicating with host Andy, was excellent. He provided a detailed arrival package upon check-in, which included dining recommendations, local places of interest and activities. He answered all our questions quickly and timely. The Lake George/Bolton Landing Region is a special place and we hope to return again next summer.

Our second summer vacation at the Shiffer's charming cabin. It's location in a community of log cabins, with a view of the lake and a few short steps access to the community beach and play area. Perfect for a family of all ages. We'll definitely be back

Every year, for 20 years, our friends have come together to celebrate the summer in Lake George. This year we decided to split a house amongst our three families and this property perfectly matched our search criteria. We were three families, comprising two couples and another couple with a 10 YO child. For our unique combo of families, this property was perfect in many ways but also had some things we would have loved to have better understood up front. Here is what you need to know if you want to rent this wonderful property: 1) The hosts are amazing. ‘Nuff said. Great people, wonderful communication… it doesn’t get better than this; 2) The location is perfect. Right in Bolton’s Landing, it is close enough to everything. Also, the house is *right on the lake!*! Let me say that again… it’s right on the lake! There was a private walkway down to the shared lakefront area for the HOA and we were mere steps from beach and lake access. Amazing! 3) There is no air conditioning. Normally that wouldn’t matter because it’s upstate New York. But because of climate change we had four straight days of 95+ degree weather. We had read reviews that warned us about the lack of A.C so we had brought 1-2 fans. But with the horrible, humid heat it wasn’t enough. It’s more of a FYI because apparently no one has A.C. around there; 4) Overall the house was amazing in terms of its location, the included amenities and everything. But the layout is a little odd if you have more than one family. There are two bedrooms, one bath, and a full kitchen upstairs. Downstairs there was one bedroom, a bunk bed in a hallway (an “open” bedroom), and another “open” bedroom behind curtains and a kitchen. But just note that the bunk beds and one of the bedrooms don’t have a door. It wasn’t a huge deal, but if you are expecting privacy in the downstairs bunk-bed room or 2nd bedroom downstairs, you will be disappointed LOL. Also, the downstairs kitchen didn’t have any cooking elements. So if we wanted to use the toaster, the oven, the stovetop, or the microwave, we had to go outside then upstairs to use the kitchen on the main floor. The downstairs kitchen only had a fridge (full size), sink, and coffee maker. 5) The common beach area was outstanding! 10/10! 6) Again - great house, sparkling clean, amazing hosts, fabulous location, proximity to lake. You’ll be happy if you rent here so long as you know the quirks I mentioned above. Thanks for a great stay!

Excellent property with direct private access to the beach. The upper deck has a great view of the lake with a nice grill available to use. Great location with only a short drive to the Bolton Landing downtown and the Sagamore. The owners were very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be back!

We had a fabulous time here and enjoyed the location very much. The houses are fairly close together but the neighborhood is very friendly and quiet. The location to Bolton was perfect and Andrew was incredibly nice, responsive and full of great tips to help us really enjoy our time there!

This property feels more like a home than the standard, sterile vacation rental. From the beginning of the process, Andy and Joan were super communicative, warm, friendly and felt like family. When we arrived to the cabin we were immediately greeted with all the wonderful sounds, smells and feelings of life in the Adirondacks. Our family of four delighted in our cool and sunny mornings of breakfast on the deck, our morning excursions to so many locations in the area, our afternoon play and lounging on the lake and our simple evenings together. This property felt like a home away from home. It was filled with character and charm. Incredibly tidy and clean, it was so comfortable and easy to move right in! We didn’t want to leave!! You can’t beat the location…Bolton Landing is a gem (there’s a great new restaurant in town by such a name!) and afforded our little family many hours of entertainment and browsing. Thank you, Andy & Joan, for sharing your slice of the Adirondacks with us!!

This beautiful Bolton Landing cabin is a real gem! We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids (ages 6 and 8). The cabin was super charming and cozy with plenty of space. We had an absolute blast. Bolton Landing is a great area with tons of things to do for kids and adults. The lake and the beach are gorgeous, clean and the water was so refreshing! Andy & Joan are absolute pleasures to deal with. I look forward to booking their cabin again!

This was our first time to Lake George and we could not have picked a more perfect location and home to rent! The town of Bolton Landing was all you need in a small lakeside town... enough restaurants and shops to walk around with the family. There was no need for us to visit Lake George Village at all as it is very tourist-y and the food is subpar. Renting from Andy & Joan was the best thing that could have happened to us as well! They are undeniably the best VRBO hosts we have come across! Just wonderful people. Aside from the endless list of suggested spots to hit, they made sure we had everything we would need to stay comfortably. This slice of heaven is beautiful, clean and has all the right feels for a quiet family getaway. We loved eating our meals on the spacious deck overlooking the beach and lake. We brought some of our kids favorite games, but they had card games and puzzles as well. It was so wonderful to have a beach and playground right in front of us for the kids! When they weren't jumping off the docks they were no more than 50 feet from us at the playground or in the sand. There was no need for us to bring chairs or toys - the association has a ping pong table on the beach along with volleyball, badmitton and paddle ball available right there! Some of our favorite memories are our s'mores at the campfire! Again the proximity was perfect, just a few steps from the house to the beach and we were under the stars signing around the fire! Do NOT be scared off by the no A/C!!!! trust me - us city folks were a bit worried that we overlooked that detail... but it was soo not necessary! The house was perfectly comfortable in mid-August. As I mentioned before Andy and Joan had a ton of suggestions for us. From where to eat, to who has live music, to what beers are on tap here & there, to what meat is the best to barbecue, to where to rent boats etc., to what roads to take (and songs to play along the way!). And not one suggestion was a fail. We got to drive around the area a bit to follow some ideas and we loved the drive as well. Overall we could not reccomend staying here more! The only thing we wish was that we had made the reservation with more friends... there was so much more space than a family of 4 needed. But that's never a bad thing - to have more than enough space to vacation in :)
