We loved the location of Menehune Shores! It's right on the beach and conveniently located to so many places we needed to go (the Aquarium, Walmart, the airport, etc.) We loved watching the sunsets from the rooftop, seeing turtles in the sanctuary every morning, and grilling by the pool. The unit we stayed in was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed having a kitchen where we could cook many of our meals. We'd definitely stay here again.

We loved the apartment itself. Everything was clean and stylish. Had everything we could want. The a/c was more than adequate and the balcony with a view was great. The garbage disposal was messed up by the prior people but they came right out very quickly to fix it. My only disappointment was the beach and area. The sea in the little lagoon was murky and choppy the whole time. It didn't look like the pictures at all .... but that could be the time of year we came? Late July. It was also very windy, we were never able to enjoy the beach at the condo. We just drove to other areas so it was fine. One thing i enjoyed about kihei is the proximity to restaurants and the central location makes it easy to explore the island. Also 4th friday kihei is great!

Perfect location for family vacation. Beach, protected from big surf, turtles, pool, shuffleboard, boogies boards, snorkeling gear, all great and appreciated. Air conditioning was great.

This rental has a great location right on the water with view. Aside from my first day finding out there are ghost ants that come in the summer we had a great experience. (We bought ant spray and cleaned /killed them all and kept everything in ziplock bags after that. They didn’t return and property management notified after our stay to fix problem. This is our first time traveling with a baby under the age of one and there was enough space for us to bring along all of the necessities including the portable crib (which we discovered the rental has in the closet, we were told there wasn’t one at time of rental so we paid to bring one. We never actually checked in because we were always calling before or after the manager was on site but that was not a problem we just had to leave our information on our dashboard. The location is central to so many places. In the mornings you can hear the cars on the main street passing but it was not a bother at all. The grounds are very clean and there is staff present at all times. Parking was probably the only difficulty Not because there wasn’t enough The spaces are just very narrow and 1 inch too far to the left from anyone what a mess up the whole row but we managed. The AC in each room worked great! We would stay here again.

Fantastic stay at this condo with family of 5. Very clean and comfortable. Very helpful extras like beach towels, beach chairs, coolers, snorkel equipment. A lot of extra little touches for a great vacation. Beautiful balcony view and property. Love the private beach and lagoon. Lots of amenities close by. Highly recommend!

Menehune Shores I traveled with my college student daughter, and my 86 year old parents for 5 days in Maui. The condo was perfect for our trip. It was very clean, very comfortable, and well equipped. As it is an end unit, it allowed for increased ventilation in the 2 bathrooms which is nice after showers with the humidity. The main areas are tile, and bedrooms carpeted. Each bedroom and the main area have air conditioner units -which we mostly did not use. We never turned on the main room ac as the ceiling fans and cross breeze were wonderful. We did use ac in one bedroom (works great) - both for comfort and to use as white noise due to street traffic below. Everything was in excellent shape. We had a question arise a few hours before our arrival and received prompt responses and assistance. My father requires a walker, and although a bit of a trek for him from the parking lot (elevator works great) to the end unit, it was smooth and accessible. The porch was lovely. Great location - pool and bay easily accessible just below condo. Many public beaches all around. Wonderful fruit stand just up the road, swap meet equal distance the other way. Can’t say enough good things.

The pictures were exactly the same as the property. It was a perfect space for my family. Hotels feel like you have no personal space, but here it felt like home. The balcony had a great view of the ocean and I loved sitting out there. I know some people complained about the traffic noise up front but my kids said it really wasn't an issue. Would stay here again!!

We went as a family of 5 adults & 1 toddler and enjoyed ourselves very much. The building is great with rooftop BBQ area and nightly sunset conch shell blowing by locals. The restaurant there was a awesome!! Highly recommend Monsoon Cafe and our server was the best. We love the lagoon in front of condo and all the turtle activity. It’s located close to the town and we love that. We will definitely return!!

It was our first time to Maui and the property was amazing and was perfectly suitable for my family. The rooftop sunset views were beautiful and it was really nice being right on the water. We all definitely will be visiting Maui again!

This condo is located right on the beach. Has wonderful and super easy access to a beautiful beach that has a retention wall that helps me feel safer letting my kids play in the ocean. The water is not super deep all the way to the barrier so I felt really safe. The ocean access is so fantastic, we never even touched the pool. There's also an area at the barrier where green sea turtles come and relax. You can sit in the water and watch them from about 20 feet. It is however on the world's loudest street. There's traffic ALL night long and it's not just cars. It's ambulances, loud motorcycles, people blasting their music, all night long. Another drawback is, there's no air conditioning. So if it's hot or humid, you have to sleep with the windows open, making the loud street very problematic. It's difficult to sleep. Even with ear plugs. Also, our oven didn't work at all while we were there. The maintenance man was going to fix it, but wasn't able to. This was difficult because we planned our trip around cooking at home to save money. We made due with the microwave and the community grills though. Overall, great stay. Super close to where we wanted to be, beautiful view. Just very very loud.

Reviewer Comments: If four adults spending eight days in Hawaii sharing a condo doesn't sound like a vacation, know that roomy Menehune Shores #401 made the experience wonderful four us! The location was perfect for accessing the entire island (if your auto rental allows) - the Road to Hana, Haleakala, Lahaina, Wailea-Makena. The two bedroom-two bathroom condo was very clean, the kitchen fully stocked with appliances, dishes, and utensils to include a toaster oven. Body boards and four beach chairs along with ample beach towels were used often. Washer/dryer unit saw daily use. The evening and overnight breezes made the absence of A/C mostly acceptable (our stay saw unusually high temperatures in October). Keeping windows and the lanai door open allows one to hear both the soothing sound of waves breaking on the beach as well as the occasional (but tolerable) louder traffic noises from the nearby S. Kihei road. All in all, were we to return to Maui, we would stay here without hesitation.

Menehune Shores is a slice of Paradise! The location is perfect for swimming. The sandy beach entertained the kids for hours. The pool is just the right temperature. The condo provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay: chairs, boogie boards, toys. And watching the sea turtles every day is magical!! We have no complaints, and would definitely return! Overall I wouldn’t rent this unit again - will look for a more updated unit.

We absolutely loved unit 401! I was nervous about not having AC going into the trip as the forecast was 83° F during the day and 70’s ° F at night, but the breeze from the ocean made the condo extremely comfortable day and night! We left the doors and windows open and ceiling fans on all night that made for extremely comfortable living! So no need to worry about there not being AC. *Unit had everything we needed including boogie boards and snorkeling gear. Even a small cooler to take to the beach or pool area that kept our waters cold for hours! *My only complaint would be the living room tv remotes. They kept getting stuck on the guide channel and not allowing us to click on anything. making it pretty frustrating to find a movie or show to keep my kiddos entertained after dinner/ before bed. After some Google research we managed, but would have been even that much more frustrating to one who is not so savvy. I would recommend the owner get with the cable company and get a new cable remote that works. Seems this remote is ancient. There was a laminated sign indicating the issue on the coffee table, so it’s a known issue with the owner I’m assuming other guests have had issues with as well. Seems small, but when you have kids that have been in the sun all day doing all sorts of activities who are ready to vedge out and cuddle up to watch a movie and can’t, it’s pretty frustrating. Perhaps the owner could have a way for guests to log in to their own streaming accounts? That would be a game changer for parents and families. The pool was great, the beach was just steps away with Green turtle sightings daily! And the Indian restaurant downstairs on the property had fabulous food and drinks! Would totally recommend having lunch, dinner or drinks at. You’re just an elevator away from the unit. We used one of the grills on the rooftop for dinner one night we found fantastic! And made for a beautiful, exquisite spot to watch the sunset. There was a quite a bit of street noise, but that did not bother us as some had indicated in their review. Sure there’s noise, but my fam is from the city so it didn’t bother any of us. We will for sure be back!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED THIS CONDO!!! Aloha!
