BAYSIDE BUNGALOW is the perfect place for active singles, young or retired couples, or a small family who wants to be conveniently located near the WATER in Sonoma County's WINE Country . ESPECIALLY great for those who love SEAFOOD, wine-tasting and watersports: SURFING, BOATING, FISHING, KAYAKING, WIND-SURFING, PADDLE-BOARDING, KITE-FLYING, CLAM-DIGGING....AND, other activities! Or...just relax with a glass of Sonoma County WINE while you listen to the sound of the fog horn and waves breaking at Doran Park. ACTIVITIES GALORE: Great restaurants, wine-tasting and shops within walking distance (go crabbing/fishing on a charter or rent a kayak). Just walk out the front door of the Bungalow and in two minutes--reach the bay where you can get into your kayak and paddle around the bay to watch the sea lions, otters and many, many, many bird species. Or, rent a horse and go on a trail ride through the cypress trees and sand dunes and gallop on the beach. Or, go to the town of Bodega and see the "schoolhouse" and church where Alfred Hitchcock filmed scenes shown in "The Birds" movie. Doggie owners can romp at the newly created, off-leash dog-park beach at Doran Park, or head up to Goat Rock and Blind beach (off-leash) for a long walk, followed by a picnic with a bottle of great wine and crab sandwiches. Bayside Bungalow is a cozy 1 bedroom duplex perfect for a single, couple or parents with small children. The bedroom has a queen-sized memory-foam and there are folding sleeping mats for the children. There's a combined living room/kitchen fully equipped with DIRECTV in the front room and bedroom (with HBO, SHOWTIME, etc.,). Oh, and you'll notice lots of original oil and watercolor paintings on the walls done by the owner and friends (they're for sale...). Since COVID-19 began impacting all of us, we have taken precautions, so please be assured that the Bungalow is thoroughly cleaned, with all bedding, linens and surfaces disinfected between guests. (Note: Due to the hike in the cost of living, we are discounting our daily rate to make your little getaway more affordable.)

Charming fully furnished cottage. Wi-Fi, games, full-size frig & stove, and comfy seating options including a table & chairs for dining. A fenced-in yard for our little doggie was a real plus. There was easy access to beaches and eateries. Our host, Pamela, was readily available and accommodating.

First thing to mention is that the owner lives onsite, which isn’t mentioned in the ad, so it makes this feel much more like a home share than your own place. I think my biggest overall issue was that it’s way over priced for what it is. The curb appeal is awful, there is a very hard bed, no bathroom accessories - face wipes (even though you’re told NOT to use washcloths for makeup removal and that makeup wipes will be provided), no shampoo or conditioner, etc. I was disappointed with all of this, but I had planned to let go. Unfortunately the final straw was that there was cigarette smoke coming through to the rental apartment the whole weekend (Since it shares a wall and a door w the main house). There was someone smoking inside while a paying customer was next door, truly I’m still shocked! For the cost we paid for this rental, the least I would expect is not to be breathing in smoke all weekend. My husband and I were very uncomfortable and disappointed and pretty much stayed away the whole weekend except to sleep (on an incredibly hard bed). I did mention the smoke to the owner as I left and the only reaction was a brief email apology. I feel my rating is generous after our experience.

Nice lady and location but.....the fireplace was a space heater, the dishwasher didn’t work, the stove didn’t work and the dining table was the outside patio furniture. Wont stay there ever again

My pups, husband, and I had a lovely trip to Bodega Bay. We really appreciated all the little touches to show that it was a pup friendly place, which is rare when you have a bigger dog. Great good recommendations nearby for clam chowder and fish and chips. Nice walks on the water.

This property was perfectly located right on Bodega bay, walkable to the water, restaurants and minutes away by car from gorgeous Bodega Head. All conveniences are thoughtfully provided, and Pamela is a gracious and responsive hostess. So peaceful, I haven’t slept so well in years!

For a mini getaway Pamela’s place was perfect for me and my 2 dogs. She provided a dog friendly environment with an enclosed area and extras to make my stay very enjoyable.

I have stayed here twice. Very clean and updated kitchen, comfortable living and bed. The owner, Pam, is a very gracious hostess! Perfect for a get-a-way weekend trip, a week long vacation at Bodega or for a fishing trip out of the harbor! Will definitely be back.

We arrived and Pamela the host was there to greet us. The host is a dog person and the accommodation was laid out not only for human comfort (gift bag and fully stocked kitchen); it was also set up for a dog (gift bag, bowls, bed and dog run. The location is on the northern lower part of Bodega on the bay. Nearby is the Bodega Headlands and lots of choices for chowder, a great upscale restaurant, and coffee shop. Pamela was very friendly; a great communicator and her suggestions were spot on. Highly recommended for those who have a dog. Her dog Stella really wants to me your pup!

Pamela is a stellar, caring, experienced host who aims to please. Her abode is immaculately clean and exceptionally quiet. I loved walking to Terrapin Cafe, how close the Sonoma Coast beaches were, and how nice to be a bit off the beaten path.

Though my husband wasn't feeling well and we had to cut our trip short, the location was good and I was able to get out for some nice walks/hikes with the dog and enjoy the cooler marine air. I would definitely return. Very comfortable and accommodating.

Pamela was a great host. Close to beach, state park, salmon creek and spuds good food restaurants. Great locations for hiking and trails to walk, plus fun for our dogs to be at. Very pet friendly.

This was exactly what we were hoping for. It is clean & quiet and a great location for walking or driving. If you have a dog, it is perfect too - both in regards to how the host feels about dogs and that there is a private yard for your dog to roam, etc. in. Safe. And couldn't ask for a more helpful host. If we go to Bodega Bay again, this'll be the first place we try for lodging.

This rental was perfect! Small but quaint, perfect and has everything we needed. Right on the bay, maybe a 2 minute walk to the water if that. Very peaceful, and quiet area. Decorated perfectly, with full kitchen (which is necessary because all the restaurants close early) in case you don't eat earlier. We sat outside every morning and night to just enjoy the sea breeze. Would absolutely recommend! Close to everything! Pamela is super nice and her dog Stella is very cute

The host was very accommodating during our stay. Parking was easy. Close to beach, restaurants, golf course, kayaking and other water sports. We had a small older dog that was able to use a fenced yard. The residence had everything including dog treats. Very enjoyable

Pamela’s place was quaint with all the necessities you can think of for a great getaway. Large fenced in yard for our Springer Spaniel to romp about.
Pamela met us and gave us a walking tour of her place and also info on surrounding area of places to take our dog. She lives in the attached duplex and was always just a text away for any questions we had.
Bed was comfortable and blackouts-drapes were wonderful. Conveniently located to the Marina and parks with coffee shop just a short walk up the road. We didn’t eat out but saw 2 restaurants on our walk.
Definitely plan to visit again. Thank you Pamela!

Pamela is an excellent host. The house is well appointed for our mother-daughter getaway. Huge bonus for us was the fenced in yard and wonderful Stella, so our dog had playtime every morning. Great location, we were able to walk to several restaurants and enjoyed Doran beach, a short drive away.

very clean, has everything you need to make your stay comfortable. The owner lives on the property and is wonderful. AND....she has the cutest dog in the world. Next to ours, that is. Great fenced yard for your dog to hang out. We recommend this rental to all. We will be returning for our third year in a row.

My wife and I needed a few days to replenish our overworked and stressed selves. This was the perfect solution. The place was clean, comfortable and sweet. The owner couldn’t have been nicer. The location was walking distance from many of the places we wanted to go, and the natural setting was beautiful.

Overall, a very nice stay. The unit is half of a duplex, and the owner is in the other half. She was very accommodating and unobtrusive. There is a fenced yard, which was great for our dog. Full featured satellite TV is provided with lots of entertainment options. Definitely a good value.
There is room for improvement though. The dining table was very small and flimsy, and is situated right under the TV and a shelf which is just at the height where you can bump your head if you’re not careful. The chairs and sofa are not very comfortable, so “lounging about” on a rainy day can get tiring. It seems that the room is large enough to accommodate a nicer, larger dining table and furniture if properly re-arranged.
