About this house rental
We invite you to come and stay at our beautiful beachfront home, the Galveston Sea Star, located in the Sea Isle community! Enjoy incredible views of the gulf while relaxing on the balcony or spend time with family downstairs at the picnic table during a cookout. The Sea Star will sleep up to 10 people in 3 bedrooms and a downstairs Murphy bed. Each room includes a TV and fresh linens on the beds. The living room provides spectacular views of the ocean as well as easy access to the kitchen. The downstairs floor has wood floors throughout and the kitchen provides granite counter-tops and stainless appliances. The beach is car-free (other than the occasional city beach official), giving parents more peace of mind when your kids are playing. The home includes an outdoor shower, a picnic table and 2 person swing, fast broadband internet, HDTV's, Blu-Ray players, and a spacious dining area. Cell phone reception in the area can be bad, so there is also a landline phone to make calls to your friends and loved ones. Your stay will include access to the community tennis court, private fishing pier, and fish cleaning station. You also have the option to purchase a pass to the Sea Isle community pool. Located just 1.4 miles away, the hangout also has an excellent restaurant and bar. We are happy to consider up to 2 dogs, but will not accept any dogs weighing more than 25 pounds, NO EXCEPTIONS. The Sea Star property on Sea Isle is excellent. The house is in great shape, plenty of kitchen supplies and gadgets, and lots of room in the house. The unobstructed beach views and access are perfect. Since this property is on a "no-drive" stretch of beach, the beach was practically deserted during our stay...it was perfect for what we wanted. Communication from hosts was good and they were quick to respond to important questions. We will come back to this house again.

We absolutely loved our stay! The property was clean and offered a fully stocked kitchen. Beach towels and other perks that makes the trip stress free! The location is amazing and beach access a breeze. Each room beautifully decorated and we loved having our coffee over looking the ocean every morning. well thought out and considerate amenities that our family feel at home away from home!

This was our second time to stay and it is the perfect place for our family. The access to the beach is amazing and the home has plenty of room for all ages. The kitchen is well equipped for us to make meals and enjoy them at the large family table or outside on the deck. The shower downstairs is a nice amenity to get all the sand off before heading into the house. Sea Isle is a great place, not crowded like the east end but close enough to drive in to explore Galveston. By far one of our favorite homes we’ve stayed in!!

We stayed 15 nights in May 2023 at Galveston Sea Star. With so many 5-star reviews you would expect this rental to be perfect and “in pristine condition” as described in the listing. However:
Toilet has black, disgusting caked-on crud.
Grime on cabinets and doors
ANTS in kitchen, dining area & on the wall. Many ant bait traps set in the kitchen.
Due to ants, I emptied a cabinet, cleaned it out and sprayed RAID that was already at the house.
Open food packages need to be tossed.
King mattress has a big yellow NASTY stain! I covered it with a folded throw that had already been left under the mattress pad.
King mattress pad had stains that looked like blood! I washed and replaced.
Entire house needs deep-cleaning.
Furnishings are as shown in the listing, but no ottomans in the living room. Property has lots of towels, kitchen stuff; the washer and dryer work fine. The drains in the showers are clear. WIFI is great, cell phone reception is iffy and TV does not receive local stations, but you have access to plenty of free movies. Thermostat keeps the house at the desired temperature most of the time.
This was not our first time renting a beach house. This house is beautifully furnished – just not adequately kept up. Cursory cleaning between guests is not enough. Owners need to hire a professional to get rid of the ants, throw out the foodstuffs, replace the king mattress and deep clean. Then, the Galveston Sea Star will be an EXCEPTIONAL rental “in pristine condition.”

I went with my adult children, so I had the downstairs master and they shared the upstairs, my daughter and boyfriend in the queen room and my son in the bunk room. This house worked great for our needs. The downstairs is open and airy with lots of great seating for relaxing, reading, and watching the sunrise, a fold out table for puzzling, and spacious, well appointed kitchen for meal prep. Easy access to the beach is a plus. Lots of closet space for storage. It was big enough for us this time, but not when both kids have families.

Location is perfect ( away from the craziness of Galveston)
Fishing is good

EVERY beach toy you need is in the garage.
Needs improvement:
Needs to be deep cleaned. Grime on cabinets, hairs on sinks, a lot of old books and games need to be thrown away and clutter eliminated.
2nd floor sleeping area was much hotter, even with AC.
Both shower drains were not working properly.
Doors and windows need to be repaired and/or updated.
Overall, cute place that needs to be better maintaned.

The view, the beach, the house, and our stay was perfect. We had a crab boil on the balcony picnic table and watched the sunset. We walked the beach at dawn and were alone. Clean, well stocked, and worth every penny. I highly recommend recharging with beach time here!

Great vacation retreat
Location is great, empty lots on both sides in sea isle, no cars on beach. Property easily accommodates our family of 6…3 adults, 3 elementary age children. Has everything you need in kitchen. Best of all great deck and beautiful view with sea breezes.

Everything was great the location, there was hardly anyone on the beach and very spaced out due tonit being a private beach the rooms were spacious, they had beach towels, linens, left a bottle of wine and chocolates, sun screen, plenty of things in the garage for kids to play with. We take a beach trip to galveston once a year and definitely want to come back. On top of everything already great my son left his nintendo switch there and they found it and mailed it back to us! Would highly recommend especially to families!

We were extremely satisfied with everything about this trip. The house is amazing. Location is great. The house had pretty much everything we could need. Kitchen stocked, lots of beach toys in the garage, extra beach towels and a store across the road. The owners are so easy to work with. We highly recommend this home!!

The beach was nice and quiet, just the occasional beach walker or bicyclist. The only vehicles on the beach were municipal vehicles for maintenance. It doesn't appear that private cars are allowed on the beach, which is great. The location is definitely much more peaceful than the public beaches in the city of Galveston. The house came with plenty of outdoor chairs, beach toys, and even a sturdy sun shelter. We especially enjoyed flying kites from the assortment of kites available. Inside, the house is very spacious and nicely decorated with a well stocked kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The internet connection was very fast. There are numerous grocery and convenience stores close by. It was the most relaxing vacation we've had in several years! We will definitely seek out this property, if we stay in the Galveston area again.

Our family had a lovely stay at Galveston Sea Star! The weather was supposed to be awful but ended up being lovely on Thursday and Friday so no complaints! The house was easy to find - easy to get into - fresh and clean and ready to feast in! The kitchen was fully equipped with all we needed. All appliances up and operating - large prep area and table to spread out at. Great TV for football and the beds were all comfy and ready to be slept in, The deck provided both a covered area for bad weather and an open area for sunning. Just lovely!!

Shortly after arriving we realized we knew who the owners of the house are. Small world! Knowing this it was not surprising to find the house to be clean, and well kept. The only real surprise was the solitude. With no public entry points near and no rows of houses behind we found ourselves alone on the beach except for an occasional walker. No one sitting within 100 yards of us all day and on a Saturday. Very peaceful. This is a very nice time of year to come.
