Historic Home in the Heart of Downtown Beaufort's 'Old Point'
About this house rental
4 bedroom historic home in the heart of Downtown Beaufort. This 4 bedroom, 3 bath historic home sits in the heart of Downtown Beaufort's prestigious 'Old Point'. Built in the late 1800's, this house is part of Beaufort's history, and is only 3 short blocks from the Waterfront Park, as well as shopping, art galleries, restaurants and attractions of downtown. If you stay at 608 North Street, you will be in the perfect location to experience the best of Beaufort. The home has been completely restored with a fully equipped kitchen, limestone tile, heart pine floors, new stainless steel appliances, and impressive antiques from Bali and Indonesia. The large master suite features a king bed, private bathroom with whirlpool tub, and a private sitting area. The 2nd upstairs bedroom has a king and single bed. The 3rd upstairs bedroom has two twin beds, and one queen bed. The 4th bedroom downstairs has a king bed. Wireless internet and cable TV are included. Three large porches provide great spots to admire the beautiful low country scenery and watch the horse drawn carriage rides pass. A short walk is Beaufort's newly renovated Waterfront Park, complete with a playground, which provides the perfect location for an afternoon of enjoyment. Hunting Island State Park and public boat ramps are all easily accessible, and Charleston, Hilton Head, or Savannah are close enough for day trips. Staying at 608 North Street will truly be an experience that cannot be matched by a hotel, condo, or any other rental home. While this home has been completely renovated, if you are someone who is expecting new, flawless construction and prefers a hotel room or suite over a historic property, this is probably not the home for you. This house was built almost 200 years ago, and it does have imperfections that are typical of historic homes in the Beaufort and Charleston areas. We think these imperfections are what makes the home special. This is such an amazing opportunity - to be able to stay in this unique historic property. Plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy. Large rooms and the most walkable neighborhood in the United States! Able to walk to the downtown shopping area and restaurants within minutes. Highly recommend!

This location is wonderful for those who like to walk without worrying about a parking place for downtown activities. It also provides a shortcut to The Chocolate Tree! Fabulous location!

It was just as pictured. We had everything we needed. Close to Paris Island for my sons boot camp graduation. Nice restaurants and shops on the water front. We enjoyed our stay.

Truly lovely, modern functionality, fully accomodating for our needs. It was the perfect home for us during this time, beautiful period furnishings, great gathering spaces but abundant privacy as well. Walkable for most of our needs.
Gorgeous quiet neighborhood. It was a little warm on our last night upstairs. Otherwise everything we needed and more.

Seven longtime girlfriends enjoyed 3 nights in this beautiful house in the wonderful town of Beaufort. Lots of laughs, good food and a day on the beach at Hunting Island. Great location and accommodations for a girl's getaway. Hope to come back soon.

There were 7 of us on our girls trip to Beaufort. We were celebrating 30 years playing “Bunco” together! The property was perfect! Everyone had plenty of room, the location was great-short walk to downtown, beautiful home and the host was so prompt and helpful when we had a question. We all would definitely visit again! Thank you for such a great experience!

We had an amazing time in this wonderful home located in an idyllic spot in Beaufort SC. The owners were easy to work with and readily available; although, everything worked exactly as advertised. Previous reviews noted the bathroom locations were a bit odd, however, we did t find them to be unusual at all. Especially when you consider the owners decorated the home to maximize the numbers of people that may be accommodated. We are very grateful for a wonderful place to stay for our sons wedding. Thanks to the Christmas’!!

This home is centrally located in the historic district of Beaufort. It is an easy walk to downtown and is convenient to area restaurants and bars. The home itself is in great condition despite its age. The bathroom layouts are a little quirky but keep in mind this is an old home. In some cases, you need to walk through a bedroom to get to the bathroom. The outdoor areas are wonderful, the porches are also amazing. The owners are prompt in their replies to concerns, booking, questions...... This is a wonderful home for a group! I'd recommend it.

My first trip to Beaufort, loved it! This house is in a perfect, perfect, perfect location. Walkable to downtown, in historic Beaufort. It was cloudy and cold during our stay, but if weather had been better, the house has a great private backyard with 2 tables, also numerous porches.

Staying in historic downtown Beaufort has been a dream for many years and it did not disappoint. From morning walks around the beautiful neighborhood, easy walking to shopping and eating and just relaxing in the comfortable historic home, we all loved this stay.

We were in Beaufort to see our new Marine graduate from Parris Island. This house was perfect for us with the multiple bathrooms, bedrooms and lots of space. The younger children loved the back yard, too. We didn't get to explore much of Beaufort as we were busy with Marine activities, which just gives us a reason to return in the future!

While visiting Beaufort for my sons graduation from Parris Island we stayed in this wonderful home. The beds were cozy. Every night I slept like a rock and the sheets were excellent too. We loved the charm of the home. The location is perfect, just steps away from the historic homes that we wanted to visit. It’s close to shops and restaurants. We spent a lot of time in the courtyard just relaxing outside (the weather was perfect). The yard isn’t very large but the backyard is very private with a lot of trees and plants. It has plenty of seating outside as well. What I noticed about the home is how sound doesn’t travel from room to room like it does in my home. I guess they don’t make houses like they used to. Although, we didn’t have any young children with us so that could make a difference. I highly recommend renting this house. We had an amazing stay.

This property was absolutely wonderful! We were in town to celebrate the graduation of our new Marine from Parris Island. Had it not been for this house, we would have ended up renting 3-4 separate hotel rooms in Beaufort and we would not have had the same family experience we had by all being under one roof. It was awesome to bring him to a place where all of us were under one roof.
There is a lot to like about this property, but the multiple porches are certainly at the top of the list. They are a great place to get together collectively or to be by yourself for a little solitude. The location is walking distance to the waterfront and historic district with great shops and restaurants. You must take the short walk down there! There is also grocery stores nearby for anything you might have forgotten or if you want to cook dinner instead of going out.
Best of all, if you're in town to celebrate a new U.S. Marine, the base is less than 15 minutes away.
We are grateful we found this location. It made an exciting time in our family even better! I'd highly recommend this house to anyone that has a group visiting Beaufort.

There were eleven of us, ranging from ages eleven to eighty-five. We all completely enjoyed the house. The kitchen was a wonderful gathering spot for cooks, onlookers and impatient hungry people. There are many indoor and outdoor settings for small group conversations. - plenty of room for all of us. And, yes, with so many rooms and excellent hiding places, we did turn off all the lights one night and play “hide and seek”. Our families came together from SC, the mountains of North Carolina and Florida to share the experience this house had to offer, and we plan to make it a yearly event.

The house was just beautiful:). My family and I truly enjoyed the location and the uniqueness of the property. We wish we spent more time in the house and in the area but most time was spent on Parris Island! We would have really enjoyed staying longer to explore the area and enjoy the house more. I would really recommend this wonderful property:)

Fantastic big house for the whole family!
This was such a fun house for our family. There was plenty of space for my family and my sister’s family. The kids loved the balconies and the outside walkway from one side of the house to the other. Several games of hide and seek were played! The location was great! Walking distance to downtown and less than a block from The Chocolate Tree. We enjoyed waking around looking at all the larger older buildings nearby. 5 stars - would absolutely stay again!

Historic house, great location
Thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay. Old house was in pretty good shape with all the modern amenities right in the middle of the historic district. Very easy walk to restaurants, historic houses, and the river.

It was a quiet and dainty place to stay and my family and I really appreciate how homey it felt. It definitely had that historic charm with a splash of renovated aspects to it. It was a 20-25 ride to Parris Island where we saw my little brother graduate as a Marine. I would definitely recommend staying here and even stay here myself again!

This is a great place to stay when you have family and friends coming to visit. The master suite is separate from the other bedrooms. What a joy it was to stay in this property! Perfect location, flexible bedding options, priced correctly and clean. We came in for our Son's graduation from MCRD and it was a great venue. We have family in the area so it made a great homebase for us. Walking distance to one of the best hidden secret towns in America. When we get back to Beaufort, this will be my first viewing to see if it's available. Semper Fi.
