Complete with lake views, a private dock, and plenty of space and modern comforts, your group will feel at home. Located on the eastern shore of Devils Lake, you'll have easy access to any water sport you desire, including fishing, swimming, boating, and wakeboarding. A scenic three-mile drive will put you on the north side of Lincoln City. This house feels like a modern palace, with its stone masonry and expansive lakefront yard. The owners live next door and are avid gardeners who maintain a park-like setting for you to enjoy. You'll enjoy nearly 360-degree views of the lake, and every room in the house has lake views. Inside, the comfortable living room welcomes you with a selection of couches in front of a gas fireplace. Gather everyone there and break out one of the provided classic board games, the large wooden Score Four game, or a jigsaw puzzle. Relax with a book, browse on WiFi, or turn on the cable TV to enjoy a DVD or VHS from the collection. Adjoined to the living room is a stylish full kitchen, well-equipped with everything you need, plus extras like a blender, waffle iron, mixer, crockpot, toaster oven, electric griddle, fondue pot, and dishwasher. This room sees plenty of natural light through the windows, and there is plenty of space to spread food out on the countertops. A large dining table will fit everyone for a family meal with a lake view. The kids have their own dishware too, as well as a high chair for even younger guests, so everyone will have a spot at the table. Outside you'll enjoy a lush lawn that is great for games, your own private dock, a remodeled outdoor firepit raised up with the large flagstone patio (wood for the outdoor firepit can be purchased at any grocery store in Lincoln City), a gas BBQ, and numerous decks and seating areas. Outdoor activities such as cornhole, jump rope, and kids' lawn games are also available for everyone to enjoy. Bring the included sand toys and skimboard to the sand on a small private beach, or head to the garden to watch the bees buzz among the flowers from a quiet bench. Since this home is at the end of a quieter road, you won't hear noise from the highway. As the evening winds down, use the marshmallow skewers to make s'mores together. The main bedroom features spectacular views from the windows and the upper deck, which offers an end-to-end view of the lake! A second upstairs bedroom also has great lake view and access to a shared full bathroom. Downstairs, the third bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed and direct access to an outdoor patio. A media room has a TV, a sofa, and outdoor patio access. Another full bath can be found down here, as well as a private washer/dryer for any laundry you need doing. This house is perfect for a family vacation or a getaway with some close friends - bring your boat to enjoy various activities on the lake, barbecue and relax lakeside, and roast s'mores in the firepit when it gets dark. Get close to the water by kayaking or fishing, bring your sail or motorboat to launch at a nearby park, or try to identify the myriad bird species that live here. With such awesome views, you might be tempted to just relax on the patio with a cocktail, soaking in all the beauty! If the lake feels too quiet, you can always venture in to Lincoln City, just a four-mile drive south or a three-mile trip north, depending on which part of town you want to explore. You'll have choices for food, eclectic boutiques to browse, and of course, seven miles of sandy beaches. Some might wish to go surfing at Nelscott, while others can take a leisurely stroll to do some beach combing with their feet in the surf. The pictures describe the property well. The kitchen was well stocked in terms of pots, pans, utensils, etc. It has a beach that worked well for launching paddleboards and kayaks, but not for swimming. The lake has a problem with milfoil weed, and once you are past knee deep from the beach you hit it. There is a nice public beach 2 houses away that is better for swimming. Overall fantastic place, best of both worlds being on a lake, but close to the ocean.

Relaxing rental with a spacious house and large backyard. The house could have used a better cleaning than what was provided.
There were dead bugs on the window sills, one of the comforters smelled like mildew, the kitchen counter and cookware was visibly dirty, and the back door downstairs was very hard to lock. Other than that, the place was great!

Well designed house with a lovely ikea kitchen. Tons of utensils. The house itself has windows in 4 directions and a small deck overlooking the lake. We were lucky to get this house on a very short notice.
The fridge looked like a makeshift one. Didn’t have any ice or ice trays. There was also an issue with the under counter lighting not working. But it didn’t bother us.
The lake was lovely to watch, but there was an algea bloom in the water, so couldn’t swim.

We had plenty of room and enjoyed our stay.

On the lake, near the coast, what more do you need? The house is very modern and clean. It also boasts one of the best well-stocked kitchens that we have ever been in. If you love to cook, this place is for you! The showers are amazing - we could have stayed in the shower the entire time!
Things you might want to bring to make a great place even better:
1) Kayak, canoe, SUP - they have a great dock - take advantage of it!
2) Binoculars - gorgeous panoramic lake views beg binoculars especially if you are a birder
3) Board games - Tons of tables inside and out for gaming, but they only have chess / checkers on hand.
4) Recycling / Composting bags - if you're into doing this, bring some bags so you can haul this stuff out. Unfortunately, the city doesn't offer these services.

Stayed here for a week in July. Property is lovely with a large backyard, dock, close to Lincoln City. For the most part very clean and well kept. I'll try to provide an honest review with some constructive criticism.
Home: Pro's : Lots of room, beautiful backyard with a great view. Kitchen well stocked. Bed comfortable. Close to Lincoln City and the beach. Furnishings nice.
Home Con's: Lots of spiders inside and outside. We killed probably 20 spiders on the first night inside. Hanging from lamp shades, in the corners, on the chairs. I understand the house is in an environment that might encourage it but something needs to be done. Anyone with arachnophobia might not have done so well. Just needs sprayed on a regular basis. Kitchen utensils need some TLC. Pot and pans need replaced. Griddle needs replaced. Coffee pot lid broken. Can opener. Rear door lock needs repaired. All minor things with easy fixes.
Mobility: The main house basically consists of a small area downstairs and a large area upstairs. Just keep in mind anything you bring as far as food and those sleeping upstairs will need to be carried up those stairs. If you have limited mobility, especially with stairs, you may want to consider this.
Dock and boat access.: The dock was very nice, right on the backyard and had several tie downs. As with any dock make sure you bring enough rope and bumpers, especially since the dock is on the main part of the water you get lots of wake movement. Boat ramp is down the road but easily accessible with a dock too. For those of you that have difficulties backing your boat, the driveway is very narrow and the road in front of the house is narrow also. I have an 18' boat on a single axle trailer with decent backing skills and it was kind of tight so make sure your prepared for that.
The only other problem I had was one of the days my daughter and granddaughter were home taking a nap while the rest of us were out somebody entered the garage without notification. From what I can tell from previous reviews the owners live next door. This entry really scared the daughter. In my opinion this never should of happened. I was not made of aware of any emergency that would have necessitated this and was very disappointed that Vacasa allows this.
In closing I would say this. The property is very nice. As a boat owner we chose this property just for the dock. Clean, comfortable and wonderful location. Everything that was a negative can all be easily resolved. I wouldn't have a problem staying at this location again if needed.

It was perfect. There were 5 adults and 3 kids 6 and under. Plenty of sleeping room, stocked kitchen, dock for the boat, great lawn area and small beach access. Views of the lake were fantastic. Plenty of room for family eating and activities. I highly recommend this place. Only wish we could have had a 3:00 pm check in and 11:00 am check out instead of 4:00 and 10:00.

Beautiful location on the lake
It is a great home in a beautiful location on the lake. Large fire pit right on the waters edge and big yard for outdoor play in drier weather. Be aware though that the grill they reference is actually a small camping size propane grill, would be fine for hot dogs or burgers but not heartier grilling.

It's a beautiful home and the view is magnificent, breath taken. We enjoyed sitting on the balcony or having coffee on a stormy day watching our kids played by the fireplace. Like all kids, ours love fishing directly from the deck and the retaining wall during their distance learning breaks. And, there's plenty of room to run and played tag in that large yard. This home gave us some of the most memorable experiences as we watched our kids enjoying what this place have to offer.

Alder House
Location, Location, Location! is what this house on Devil's Lake has over others. The yard/dock/beach/ are beautiful and offer so many different opportunities for fun and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
The house is decorated very lovely, with nice touches such as beach towels and outdoor blankets. (I would recommend a few more of each for a house that is most likely used for larger groups) It also has an incredibly well appointed kitchen with everything you could need.
We booked it for a multigenerational family get together which did not happen due to COVID, but we enjoyed our time here anyway, and see the possibilities for future get togethers here ASAP.

Perfect stay at Alder House
Our family of 5 plus 2 of the girls' friends enjoyed the long labor day weekend at Alder House. VRBO listing very accurate, check in and check out were seamless. Beautiful property, right on the the lake. We would definitely stay there again.

Came for the beach but had no reason this place had it all
We booked at the last minute after being disappointing nothing was available on the coast. Once there we fell in love with the house and location. The property had a large backyard with lake views and is sticking out on a prime point of the entire lake. There was a sandy beach on the property with a dock that is shallow enough (with no currents) to be safe for the kids without concern. As the title stated, we came for the beach, spent 3 nights and never found a reason to leave as it had everything we needed to create memories for a lifetime. Don't forget to bring your boat/raft and fishing poles, we left with trout and caught a few small mouth bass. This place is a hidden secret and plan to make it a yearly tradition. The owners are incredibly nice and accommodating. Thanks a million for the memories!

Beach on the lake
Great house, great beach for your jet skis and boat on the lake. Not a place to stay if you are loud. Beautiful views with a park one house down.
