The house was clean and comfortable with great views of the canal from the windows. Rooms were comfy. We had a great time fishing off the dock. The host of this property is very responsive. He returned our calls quickly and he checked to make sure that everything was in order when we arrived. Beautiful neighborhood, quiet location

Our stay was exactly as hoped for, quiet rural waterfront property, family friendly and very relaxing. Marty stayed in touch & helped with a small issue, making sure we were happy! We were, thanks so much...loved & would definitely recommend!

Property was excellent for a quiet family get away. We enjoyed the seclusion of the area and the peaceful neighborhood. New Bern downtown shopping was great and so many fine places to enjoy a meal. Looking forward to returning sometime with my husband and bringing our boat to explore the rivers. The owner took the time to call before we arrived to let us know about a repair earlier in the week concerning a spot in the yard and was very nice to make sure we knew everything was ok.

Our time at Anchors Away was great..... A lot of room to spread out for sure. The water was the best view whether on the deck, in the house or on the dock. Check in was easy. We liked the area where the house is at, To get to anything you have to drive to but we didn't mind because it is worth the drive to see new things.
When we had questions or needed to know something the owner was quick to respond and talk with.
Happy Vacationers who stayed July 1st to July 6, 2023!!!

Our family had a great stay at this house. The house was perfect for our two families to have their own space and the kitchen is a great size for us to work together making meals. The kayaks and canoe were our favorite part, with a quiet spot on the river to paddle atound and meet wildlife. Overall an amazing getaway!

Loved having kayaks to explore and spending time on the dock. House was well- equipped and comfortable.

I gave 4 stars instead of 5 (for accuracy of online listing) because the owners are selling themselves short on all this house has to offer. Please add more pictures of the dock, the deck and barbecue, the bathrooms, the laundry, the large kitchen, the many expansive rooms, the kayaks, the turtles coming up to say hello, the jumping fish (if you can get a good shot of them). There were four in our party and we had plenty of space, whether we wanted to be in the same room or separate ourselves for alone times. The wifi is a solid and dependable 10Mbps DSL. The grill is easy to use. We kayaked to the Trent River (more life jackets would be helpful as well as a stabilizing bar to lower yourself into the kayak). We sat on the dock, amused by the fish that would leap out of the water for six feet at at a time, often multiple jumps that took them halfway across the pond. We fed cheerios to the turtles (I hope that's okay). The neighborhood is quiet, good for walking and biking. When we had questions (which were few), the owners were very responsive. The only reason we would not return is that we typically never stay at the same place twice, because we like try different venues and a variety of accommodations in our retirement years. But I highly recommend this property. We had a very nice and relaxing time.

This place was wonderful. The communication from the start was very quick. When we got there it was easy to get in and wow what I nice home. The view was great from most of the house. The house is well stocked with all you need and so much more. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and just sitting out in the morning and watching the wildlife on the river with our coffee. They have games to play bikes to ride and exercise bike. There is plenty of room to stretch out and be alone if you want. The neighborhood is quiet and people are friendly. We will definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed this property and the location - it's hard to beat. The house is roomy and very comfortable. In its' own little cul-de-sac. Loved the dock and back deck area.

We loved the serenity of this property along with the water view. It was truly a vacation getaway. We enjoyed coffee on the deck in the morning and a cold beer on the deck while grilling our evening steaks.
We rented this property based on the proximity to the outer banks, hiking trails, and availability of kayaks/canoes and bikes for our active family.
This place had what we needed and owners were very responsive to messages. Would recommend!

This was a great place for kids, parents and grandparents to vacation together but still have their own individual space. Convenient to several different tourist areas in eastern NC. Would vacation here again anytime.

Anchor’s Away is a beautiful home with much to do. The view is awesome. My family enjoyed the kayaks, fishing, hanging out and just happy to spend time together! The surrounding area is gorgeous as well. I wish we had more time, I was looking forward to a bicycle ride. The owners were very gracious and their kindness will not be forgotten. Hoping to stay there again. The Ujlaky Family.

The home sits on a quiet cove that leads to the Trent river and the on site use of kayaks and canoe are a plus. The neighborhood is very nice and I suggest taking a bike ride and experiencing the area with the on site bicycle use provided. The master bedroom bed is very noisy with any movement, this is not a complaint, but an observation for guests as we just moved to the other bedroom with a queen bed and it was fine.

House was very comfortable with plenty of space and seating to sit and relax. We enjoyed kayaking in the cove and out to the open water. Took the Waverunners out to the open water and had a great time.

Spacious, well-appointed home in a quiet, friendly neighborhood. Back deck with water view was a special treat. The little town of River Bend has a great pizza place and lots of safe roads for biking and walking and is a short drive to New Bern downtown.

We stayed with Marty while visiting friends who lived nearby. The home was very clean and had everything we needed. Highly recommend sitting on the peaceful back dock for tea in the mornings or a cocktail in the evenings. Marty was an excellent host and so kind to check in ahead of the “NC gas crisis” and be flexible if needed. Wonderful stay and wonderful hosts!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. The view of the inlet from many rooms was beautiful. The kitchen had enough pots, pans, glassware that we could host a small dinner and the owner responded reasonably quickly to our questions. The house was very cleanOn the downsideThe bed in the Master was too small and creaky for two adults and having to wash, dry, fold and return the linens to storage before leaving was an inconvenience that we could have done without. The railing on the deck was dangerously rotted and could be a problem if you had children (or drunks) wandering around. Still, on the whole the property filled our needs.

What a lovely home. It is an older home with a lot of features that make you feel like you are home. It is located in a perfect location with plenty of things to do. The home has a beautiful water front and there is a golf course in the neighborhood which is very relaxing and quiet. What a great home!

This house has plenty of space to spread out, with several nice rooms to sit in, some with nice views of the cove. The neighborhood was nice for taking walks, and it was an easy drive to get to downtown New Bern. It was a good experience all around.

We were in town for our son's wedding. It was a perfect "home base" for all of the family activities that go along with pulling a wedding together. Martin was an amazing and helpful host. We would definitely stay again!!

We loved spending Thanksgiving week at this beautiful property. We enjoyed using the kayaks and the bicycles to explore and just relaxing on the dock. I would suggest bringing your own bed linens with you to avoid spending your last morning doing loads of laundry, including all sheets and towels used during your stay. The neighborhood is so peaceful and beautiful, we didn't want to leave!
