Woodstock Design-Waterfront, Deck, Private Dock Kayak, Swim
About this house rental
Situated in Saugerties, this charming house for $684 per night is a great option for your next break. WOODSTOCK DESIGN WATERFRONT HOUSE This newly remodeled private waterfront cottage is just 3 minutes from the center of Saugerties, NY and 15 minutes from Woodstock, NY. Enjoy the best of both towns: specialty shops and boutiques, delectable food, farmers markets, live music and glorious scenery. The 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage is a spacious, serene and comfortably elegant retreat. It’s ingeniously tailored for a romantic getaway, a family gathering, or for two friends on a shopping-fishing-antiquing-hiking or whatever you- cook-up weekend. It's roomy enough for a crowd, yet still cozy and private enough for a revitalizing artist or writer’s retreat. No need to sacrifice urban elegance for country charm, because here you truly have both. The house is an authentic 1930’s cottage, now airily restyled and open, with the sophistication of a luxed-out loft. It was the beloved childhood family cottage of former L.A. stylist Daisy Bolle, current owner of Hudson Valley fashion mecca DIG, and Daisy’s smashing taste is reflected in every detail of this beautiful remodel. The house still belongs to her parents, Mike and Robin Kramer, longtime owners of the two hottest clothing stores in Woodstock: Woodstock Trading Post and Woodstock Design. Luxury and cozy comfort are in this family’s DNA. Each room has been thoughtfully designed and decorated to invite the outdoors in, surrounding you with resort- style comfort. Enormous windows and French doors to the stunning deck provide an all-day display of the renowned ever-changing Hudson Valley light. Keep them open to savor evening breezes and glowing sunsets, and then light a cozy fire in the living room fireplace or the fire pit on the deck, which you can also see from the bedroom. This rare property includes direct access to the Esopus Creek, famous for summer and winter sports. Take a dip or launch a kayak from your private dock, onto the smooth glide of the creek. Once there, let the world slip by as your stress slides away. Take a photo safari up this Hudson Valley Nile, capturing shots of nesting egrets, cranes and swans. Nature provides a daily surprise in this sought-after Hudson Valley setting, known for its mountains, woods, and meandering rivers. Poets and painters will find enough inspiration to last the rest of the year. You might even nab a prime trophy bass. The gentle lapping of the creek will serenade evening star–gazing and cocktails on the deck, or a night of barbeque and games with the kids. Linger over lattes and the morning papers while you plan the day’s adventures. You may just decide relaxing on the deck is all the adventure you need. When it’s time for sleep, sink into sumptuous king-sized beds in both bedrooms. One of the two couches in the living room also folds out into a queen mattress. Linens are provided for you, including silk-like soft Beechwood sheets, down blankets and pillows, and fluffy bath sheet- sized towels laundered with Seventh Generation unscented detergent. The bath features radiant-heat floors, iridescent artisan tiles, heated towel racks and a floating vanity. The pantry is stocked with gourmet basics like coffee, tea, and the fridge holds choice breakfast goodies. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or just want to whip up some smoothies, the kitchen — with its gleaming industrial chic appliances and a five-burner gas stove with convection oven — will satisfy your appetite for customized, supreme efficiency. You’ll be cozily secluded, tucked onto a quiet lane in Saugerties, recently named by Frommer’s as one of America's 10 Coolest Small Towns. Saugerties — hilly and rich with hidden treasures like upscale breakfast joints, antique shops, places to enjoy micro brews or perfect cappuccinos, is a funky blend of historic Catskill charm and local artistic flair. For horse fans, HITS summer events are fast becoming the talk of the town. Woodstock is a scenic 12-minute drive, offering miles of mountain trails, a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, day trips for picnics, secluded swimming holes, hiking and biking, a rich rock ‘n roll history and unique restaurants and shops, including a huge weekend flea market. Additional features include: The Roku offers access to premium channels, including HBO, Showtime, Starz, Cinemax, EPIX, On Demand, and Netflix! Three girlfriends rented this well appointed cabin for a long weekend. We found it charming and in a beautiful little quiet neighborhood. Would be a super fun place for a small family right on the Esopus Creek.
Well located and would definitely come again!

We loved our stay! It was a lovely rental and very clean. The beds were comfortable and let’s talk about that view! Location.Location.Location!
Steve was extremely communicative throughout the entire process and he even had eggs, bread, milk and juice for us in the fridge. Nice touch! 😊

Our fourth visit and we've already booked the next one! The house is quiet, comfortable, well-equipped, and has the loveliest waterfront location, and Saugerties is a great little town. We were working remotely and the wifi is fast and reliable. Owner Steve is super responsive.

This is our second year and I hope to write about this house for another 20 years! Weather was perfect! As always breakfast was waiting with coffee, tea, orange juice, bread, butter and delicious neighborhood jam! The beds are incredibly comfortable and what can I say about the view/deck. It is a slice of heaven to sit on the deck with coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening and watch the kayakers go by. Peaceful, relaxing, and a perfect 4 day stay. So close to town where Stella's restaurant has amazing food. Hope to book again maybe before the year is over!

We enjoyed our stay for the thanksgiving holiday. It was a nice touch to have breakfast items stocked in the fridge upon our arrival. The heated floors and heated towel bar in the bathroom were a great addition. I like that the house was set back on a quiet street with no traffic.

Relaxing winter break
We had a relaxing getaway weekend at the cottage. Being on the creek was such a bonus especially when it was too cold to be outside. It was nice to watch from the warmth and comfort of the couch or bed. Our dog loved it, too!

BEST COTTAGE EVER
We absolutely will be coming back her every year! It is exactly the way it appears on the web site. How thoughtful to leave us breakfast for the following morning. The deck is beautiful and literally on the creek. The beds are amazing and will be ordering the same pillows and mattress topper! Didn't want to get out of bed in the morning but really didn't have to as the view from the bedroom was right on the creek. Dog friendly neighborhood as well. Town is about a 3 minute drive with delicious food and drink everywhere! Garlic Festival was in full operation when we were there. Steve was available and responsive. See you next year!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay and wanted to share some pros and cons:
Pros: Cute house, lovely big deck overlooking the creek, short 5 min drive to Saugerties, 15-20 min drive to Woodstock, well-stocked kitchen, comfy big king sized beds, nice modern interior design.
Cons: Not as clean as it could have been and some minor repairs need to be done (fixing broken shower tiles). Even though it's close to town, you can't safely walk there because there's no side walk or even space next to the road to walk on. House is small--good for a couple and maybe kids but that's about it. Definitely bring eye shades if you are the kind of person who can't sleep if there's light coming into the room.

What a great property! Even the cool pictures don’t do it justice. The deck practically extends over the creek and it was very special to be there for the 1st snow and watch the woods on the other side out on their winter clothes. Seeing the creek go from flowing to iced over was really wonderful...particularly when we got to watch a fox trot down the creek on the morning we left Steve was wonderfully accommodating and made sure we were taken care of in a pretty big snow storm.

Our trip to this waterfront home was EXACTLY what we needed. Very well appointed with linens and toiletries (in case you don't bring your own), so you can get right down to your vacation - cooking, grilling, sitting out on the HUGE deck over the water. We took advantage of the drop off service from a nearby marina and took daily rides out on a canoe. The town of Saugerties is very close by, hopping in and out for a bite or a bit of shopping could not be more convenient. One of the best vacation rental experiences I've had.
