This property location is nearly impossible to beat. Five steps from the water, a beautiful lake , boat tied up right near us, hard to beat. The Hosts are very friendly and helpful, check in tooks seconds. The cottage was ok, it is not the Ritz so if you plan to spend a lot of time inside, this is probably too small and not comfortable enough. The furniture could be more comfortable and the bed too. Other commentors have said this and I will repeat briefly, you are in a family compound and if the family is there, peace and quiet is not guaranteed. They are all very friendly and nice though and even though we didn't join them for the late evening fun, I am sure they would have welcomed us.

The entire process was flawless - the description on the listing was exact - no surprises - beautiful property - friendly owners - highly recommended - will be back next year

The hill climb between the car and cottage was a bit steep, but the lakeside access and dock access from the cottage made it worth the climb. The fishermen caught more nice large bass in one day than they have in a week at Black Lake, NY. Thanks for a great week, can't wait to come back.

We had a great time at the cottage. It had everything we needed for our fishing get away. We loved being able to dock our boat so we could get on the lake in minutes.

We can echo all the positive comments of previous posters. It was a very relaxing location, great price. Loved being so close to the water. Amazing sunsets with a cozy fire. Robb and his family ensured we had a great time. We appreciated the use of the kayak, canoe and small inflatables. You do need to share the property and water access at times when the family is there. The fishing was great for children. Lots of smallmouth bass, crappie and sunfish. A fish a minute! A few small towns are close by for last-minute grocery items or a trip for ice cream. Hope to be back again next year!

The 3 others are owner occupied and they were gone during the week, leaving us privacy for our vacation. It might have been uncomfortable if all cabins were occupied for the duration of our holiday. Rented several places on the lake over the past 30 plus years. First time with air conditioning. After 90 plus temperatures all week it was a blessing. The cabin was clean and well kept. Sometimes you meet special people and Robb and his Family were just that. More propane, help us launch the boats, you name it they were there. Great dock, Great view, Great location.

Great cottage, nice location. This place was amazing for the price. Comfortable rustic cottage on the lake. Rob went out of his way to accommodate us and went above and beyond in making our stay enjoyable. Great fishing in the lake, and one of the biggest fish I caught was from the dock. Would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was wonderful. We had just completed a stressful year at school that will involve huge changes over the summer. So, this place was just what we needed. The kitchen is well equipped and we found eating in all our meals worked best for us. We took full advantage of the canoe and kayak. The trips on the lake were great. It’s nice viewing properties nearby and meeting anglers in their boats. A pair of loons, several geese and ducks were also interesting to watch. We brought our bikes and were delighted to be able to ride them multiple times without a lot of traffic. The nearby town of Westport has stores and a post office. We particularly enjoyed “The Mercantile”. The lady who helped us was wonderful. There are several restaurants as well. Nearby churches were easy to find, too. Robb was most helpful and unobtrusive. Anyone would find this is a place where you’d want to visit again.

The cottage was very clean and actually has two bedrooms (one is located in the loft). There is also plenty of room outside for a tent and the family room is big enough to accommodate a queen-size blow-up mattress. Cottage highlights: The boys fished every day and caught fish each and every time - they were ecstatic. The largest fish was a 44cm (17 1/4") bass which we had for supper one night. You can catch small fish right off the dock and the best fishing is within the bay itself. There are several grocery stores within 10 -15 minutes drive from the cottage and if you want to rent a boat, Len's Cove Marina is about 10 minutes way. You will really appreciate the fact that the cottage has air conditioning - we used it most of the week, given the really hot weather. The owners are wonderful and they are quick to respond to any questions or concerns that you might have. The cottage is in a perfect location and it is a great deal!. I would highly recommend it to everyone - friends and family alike. :0

We saw a couple of big bass swim past the dock, but didn't catch them.

Can't say enough about the location - this newly renovated cottage is on the water. Bring your boat because the fishing is outstanding ... plenty of 19+ inch smallmouth bass - 23+ inch pike and lake trout all 3lbs and more. Clear water, great for swimming, waterskiing and relaxing. The inside was immaculate with all amenities you could ask for with a Red/White/Blue Nautical theme design. Wake up to the sound of waves splashing against the rocks and your husband coming back from fishing at 9:00 am. The only thing that was better than this was the fact that the hosts Amy and Rob were the nicest folks we've ever met... anything we needed they got for us.... The last day we were there we sat in the water to our waists in the lawn chairs for over 3 hours hosting watching the lake and having a (many) refreshing beverage. This vacation felt like a month and yet it was only for 4 nights. Many thanks to our gracious hosts and their assorted family members....see you again soon, hopefully. Teisha and Dan - Orleans, ON
