Nice place, clean and updated. It’s small but we didn’t feel cramped. Plenty of supplies and the kids loved the Nintendo and hot tub. Set back from main road and easy drive to Jackson Gore. Would stay again.

We stayed at the cabin over Christmas and it was a great stay. The home was clean and welcoming.

The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. It’s close to town and Okemo and the hot tub was awesome after a day of skiing.

The Hideaway was exactly what we were hoping for. The cabin was easy to find as it was right off the main road, yet still managed to give the feel of being in a remote location. The pond in the front added the serene sound of trickling water, especially at night as we relaxed in the hot tub! The property surrounding the cabin was perfectly maintained and extremely large. The outdoor fire pit is tucked nicely into the corner of the yard and gives the feel of having a campfire in the wilderness. Pulling up to the cabin we were obsessed, walking inside sealed the deal! First and foremost the cleanliness of the space was stellar, an immediate comfort that left us feeling right at home. We couldn’t get enough of the decor as every room grabbed our attention and had us admiring each piece and the way it complimented and lead you into the next. We made great use of the kitchen that was well stocked with everything we needed. The electric fireplace was a great addition for relaxing in the living room. We loved the loft style bedrooms and appreciated the fans that provided airflow while sleeping. We had observed the train tracks just beyond the tree line in the back of the cabin and thought it added a unique aspect to the property. When we heard the train in the distance we ran the window to watch as it chugged along to unknown destinations. We highly recommend this gem! The only downfall was having to say goodbye. We would definitely stay here again. Don’t hesitate, just book it!

Charming home in very private spot in a beautiful town.
Loved the yard, fire pit, hot tub, old fun video games and board games, well-stocked kitchen and home, and comfy bed and bedding. Very clean. Communications with host Christopher were great.
Thought the main bedroom was on first level for some reason but all beds are upstairs. The stairs could be tricky for elder or someone with mobility issues or needing to carry a baby or toddler up or down.
The local breakfast and lunch spot The Hatchery was great for vegans. A drive through town among all the lakes and rivers and mountain views was spectacular. Met a beautiful mink along Black River who did 10 minutes of tricks for us in and out of the water and popping in and out of their bankside ecosystem.
Green Mountain Sugar Shack and Peter Manship's shops were fun visits. Easy trip to Woodstock and Queechee.
Shaw's is nearby but closed for renos for next few months? Can still get food but for pickup or delivery only. We placed an order in the morning and it was ready for pickup between 3 and 6pm. Had plenty of vegan options. Very smooth op.
Great weekend getaway.

Great spot to escape. The Hideaway was beautiful in October. Easy to check in and out plus the hot tub was a nice touch.

The cabin was exactly as described. You're able to hear the road traffic when outside but cannot see the road really, which is nice. The kitchen was fully stocked which was very nice! The cabin all in all was fully stocked with everything you'd need. The steps to go upstairs are very steep and not very wide. Fine for my husband and I but I could see it would be difficult for elders. Overall we enjoyed our stay here!

This is the 2nd time we've stayed here and couldnt wait to get back!
It's tucked away from the street and private
There is a train that runs right behind the cabin which i thought was really cool. I had read a review years ago that someone was really bothered by it. It is a little loud but lasts only a couple mins. The owner is great and very responsive to questions
Cant wait to go back!

Spent a long weekend here and really enjoyed the house. The house was clean and well stocked. Bedrooms are not separated really- kind of lots of beds in one loft but it worked out ok. Stairs are steep. Outdoor shower, hot tub, and porch were great places to spend time. Beautiful property to walk around, however, there is a busy road nearby which causes some road noise and a noisy freight train with a honking horn woke us up one morning.
Overall, a nice get away.

I spent an entire month here with my wife and our dog, reveling in the delights of this charming pocket of Vermont. This idyllic retreat brought us immense joy. Throughout our stay, we were joined by friends, some accompanied by their children, who came and went, culminating in a memorable moment when the cabin accommodated up to eight people at once. The cabin exceeded our expectations in catering to our requirements, with the expansive kitchen standing out as a highlight. It was abundantly stocked with all the necessary equipment, enabling us to prepare substantial meals. Additionally, the hot tub proved to be the perfect remedy to soothe our bodies after a daylong hikes.
The cabin's strategic proximity to Ludlow and its array of shops was a definite advantage. Although our visit took place during the summer, which ruled out hitting the slopes, we made the most of the splendid hiking opportunities in the vicinity. Furthermore, the cabin's central location facilitated convenient access to more distant day trip destinations.
A few noteworthy observations:
* The upstairs is cozy. Be well-acquainted with your guests or prepare to establish profound friendships!
* Speaking of upstairs, exercise caution if you're taller than 6 feet; I had a few run-ins with low ceilings.
* The steep stairs to the upper floor may require assistance for four-legged companions initially. Our dog managed after a few attempts.
Our experience was unforgettable, and we hope to return.

Being in Mount Holly during flood stage wasn't our best vacation. We were told it would be in our best interest to leave. If we had left an hour later we would have been stuck in Rutland for the week. I drove all the way home instead of waiting it out. LUCKY US Other than the rain the place was great.

My girlfriends and I had a great stay at the Hideaway. It is exactly as it is advertised. We called it our storybook cottage. The hot tub was the perfect ending to days of serious hikes like Mount Mansfield. Christopher, the host, was very helpful answering questions s ahead of time and providing plenty of information on the property, local grocery stores and restaurants. Thanks Christopher!

We stayed at the hideaway for two nights to break up a long drive back home. We found the location absolutely perfect, tucked far enough off the main road to reduce noise, yet still easy to access nearby amenities at Ludlow/Okemo and beyond.
We were curious about the stairs that some reviewers had called out since we were traveling with two dogs, but were delighted to find they were totally fine with it (as were we!). The entire space has everything you need, and nothing you don't. Having separate living and dining spaces, along with plenty of sleeping space for three adults and two dogs was impressive for such a cute little cabin.
The picturesque yard surrounded by the lovely mountains of Vermont was a great setting while soaking in the hot tub, and our four leggers loved having ample room to zoom around in. We are already trying to come up with excuses to swing back through on future trips.

This cabin is an ideal place for a family to stay in Ludlow. It has everything we could have wanted on a trip to ski, relax and enjoy a great part of Vermont. Everything in the cabin works flawlessly, and it all made our time there a real joy. Thank you for having us!

The pictures in the listing do not provide a great description. There is a lift with 4 beds, however there is no walls between them and I would consider them all one bedroom. The staircase to the loft is very steep and the stairs are very narrow, to where you have to walk up sideways, the. You have to duck to avoid hitting your head. We did not let our dog up after the first time she came up since the stairs were too steep, to where we had to literally carry her down so she wouldn’t fall and get hurt. Other than these issues the property is clean, cozy, warm, well stocked and quite lovely.

We loved this place. The setting was beautiful. Close to all the mountain action, but once at the property you were in your own private world. Hot tub was magic in the snow. Cozy quarters made for a great cabin experience. Owner was great and instructions were clear. Highly recommend.

Nice property and close to skiing.
The only negative was the stairs to the loft were really steep and narrow. I thought they were very difficult to go down.

Our family of four enjoyed the convenience, unique decor, and cozy comforts of the cabin. It was well stocked with essentials so we didn’t have to run to the store other than for groceries. We bumped our heads a few times on the ceilings in the bedroom loft but that minor inconvenience was outweighed by the charm and thoughtfulness of every detail in the home. Highly recommend for winter ski trips to surrounding mountains especially Okemo Ski Resort which is less than 15 minutes away.

This past weekend was the third time that my spouse and I had visited the Hideway Cabin. And as ususal, it was a great visit. The cabin is extremely clean and cozy. It is stocked with all the esscentials. Overall a wonderful experience and a great place to get away and relax. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at the hideaway. It is a great central location for exploring Vermont. My husband is tall (6'7"), so the loft and door frames were a little short for him, and the stairs to the loft are very steep. Overall we loved our stay and had a wonderful honeymoon. ❤️

Great size property for the weekend. the heaters were a little hard to figure out though and don’t even think about using the pull out bed lol. The first thing we noticed was a train on the tracks right behind the cabin which made for some cool drone videos :) We enjoyed the fire pit and hot tub the most; great place to destress. Beautiful surroundings and a great pizza shop up the road!

The Hideaway was exactly what my little family needed. The grounds were beautiful and offered privacy while still being close to everything we needed. I went with my husband and our 16-month-old. While the house needed a little impromptu baby proofing because the stairs were steep and easily accessible, it was absolutely perfect. We were able to enjoy night time outside on the deck and in the jacuzzi while the baby slept inside with the monitor on. Great location close to Ludlow and less than an hour to Woodstock. Immaculately clean and so cozy. We just left today and are already talking about going back next year!
