We had a great stay at the Stillwater Chalet. Dennis was always available to answer any questions, no matter the hour, and left personal touches that made us feel welcomed from day 1. After being stuck home due to COVID, this was a beautiful change for us. During the day, after it warmed up a bit, it was deck and pool time until the afternoon.. Pool was really cold but great in the sun. We detoxed from technology and played games at the big dining table at night. Furniture is great to look at but may not be comfortable for everyone. House was very clean and book collection was a great addition to our trip during rainy times.

We were so looking forward to our vacation. Dennis was great communicating with us prior to our trip. He was quick with his responses and made all our planning very easy and smooth. However, when we got to the house, we were disappointed with the condition the house was in. Yes, the house was cute and the kitchen was well equipped. But there were many signs of neglects and lack of maintenance. At this high price point, we expected the house to be cleaner and better maintained. The outdoor pool lacked safety measures. The wrap around deck around the pool was half broken and it was missing entire fence. Instead of fence there were rusted metal rods sticking out every few feet where the fence posts used to stand. As for the grass area, the whole backyard was so wet and damp, we really couldn't play there. We were traveling with 3 boys (age 6-11) and 2 dogs so we were definitely looking forward to utilizing the backyard but it was just too wet and muddy. I understand it's been a wet summer but when we went there, it had not rained for a while so we were surprised to see the whole back yard so damp. There were cinder blocks and wooden panels that we had to step on in order to get to the fire pit from the deck -- otherwise you'd be losing your shoe in the mud. Also we constantly got a whiff of sewage. Not sure if it was coming from the swamp next to the house (no it's not a woodland, it's a swamp) or the septic under the deck (needless to mention it's not normal for septic system to smell unless you have a problem.) Lastly the outdoor area was not really quiet nor private as described. You can actually see and hear the neighbors. Also the pool guys and the gas delivery man showed up without any notice and it was disturbing to see strangers walk around the property. As for the house. it looked the same as the pictures and everything looked clean and tidy. However, with a closer look, we noticed the window frames were moldy, the wreath was covered with black mold, slate floor was broken by the sliding door, railing that connects the loft and the first floor was sticky and turned our antibacterial wipes black. Molds -- Ok, that's gross and that's just lack of maintenance. Sticky railing -- this is even worse. Especially during COVID, we expect high traffic areas, such as door knobs & railings, to be thoroughly sanitized and wiped down, which obviously hasn't been happening in this house. Final verdict - it's a cute cottage but not worth the price we paid.

This was a great spot for a much-needed family getaway in the Poconos. Cozy, well-designed house in a quiet, scenic location. And the host is a real pro. Hotel-quality service and friendliness with all the comforts of a private house.

We had a girls weekend at this house and it comfortably fit 12 including the couch! Dennis was extremely accommodating and left towels enough for everyone and a welcome bottle of wine! The hot tub was great and I can see us coming back in the summer to enjoy the pool and BBQ!

The House is Beautiful. Pictures are accurate, home is really well thought out and taken care of. Really easy drive from NYC and close to all sorts of adventures. However we barely went out as there was so much to do at the home- sit by the fire, swim, relax in the hot tub.
Dennis was really communicative and kind.
Would definitely recommend you stay here. You should also consider going zip-lining while you're there.

This was a great little cabin for a ski weekend - very near Camelback and had all the amenities we could need. There was plenty of room for us all and the cute industrial shabby chic decor was great. Although there was a problem with the hot tub before we got there, the owner gave us a call and had guys there fixing it when we arrived - it was ready to go for everybody by that evening.
