The pictures do not do this place justice. The cabin is so well built, maintained and furnished. It’s just far enough away to feel secluded but very convenient to all there is to do in and around Bryson City. We loved it!

nice stay, clean cottage, spacious, with a great view.
close to the town, and to Smokey mountains national park.
you need to arrive during the daylight, the drive up the mountain is a bit tricky.
I highly recommend the place

Once you find the property & familiarize with the area you will enjoy it. Do not try to locate in the dark. We were trying to find in the day light & GPS tried to take us up the backside. It was not fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the property & would rent again.

The Black Forest Mountain Cabin was amazing! The treacherous drive up was well worth it. The cabin was beautiful and had all necessary amenities-dishes, pans, towels, washer and dryer, blow dryers…even baby safety gates and spoons. Everything was clean and ready for us so we felt right at home. The 3-level cabin provided room for all of us to gather in the main room and out on the wrap-around deck and at the fire pit and picnic area, but there was private space, too, with bedrooms and bathrooms on each level. We enjoyed relaxing and talking together, cooking and eating, playing games, sitting in the hot tub and watching the constant hummingbirds visiting the feeders on the deck. The views and sunsets were spectacular! The cabin was close enough for many fun day trip adventures, too - Bryson City, Cherokee, Asheville, Mount Mitchell, Franklin, and the Great Smoky National Park. It was lovely to have the beautiful Black Forest Mountain Cabin as our haven each night!

We love staying at the Lasseter's cabin. We have stayed here a handful of times and it is always a wonderful experience. Views and sunsets to die for, very close to town once you get off the mountain, hot tub stays nice and hot even in the cold weather. Couldn't ask for anything more.

Awesome vacation in beautiful area of North Carolina! The cabin was so beautiful with everything we needed!

Beautiful place, great location, great views and no neighbors we could hear or see. Need to fix the TV reception problem. Trees probably need trimming. But that was the only issue we had. Again the place was awesome!!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin! It had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of blankets for us to snuggle up in. The hot tub was so nice even on cold nights!

Peaceful, quiet, remote and very comfortable. A true mountain getaway. I had my grown children and grands with me and we could all be together or have our own space to get away. It was exactly what I was looking for.

We had an excellent stay at this property, one of the best I've ever enjoyed.
WHAT I LOVED:
1. Wood-burning fireplace
2. Well-stocked kitchen with coffee filters, extra paper towels, leftover containers, and a blender
3. Night lights, flashlights, those little portable battery lights
4. The view!
5. Space heaters for bathrooms
6. Lots of pillows, towels, sheets, small rugs
7. Clean and large washer and dryer
8. Rocking chairs on the porch
9. Cute ladybugs for good luck
10. Many electrical outlets, fast wi-fi
11. Hot tub and easy-to-use cover
12. Good communication with the host who answered my not-really-dumb-just-tired questions
13. Plenty of hot water for the shower, the variety of lighting in the bathrooms
14. Unscented laundry soap
15. Subtle holiday decorations
16. Extreme privacy
WHAT WOULD HAVE MADE IT BETTER
1. The hot tub temperature only got to a high of 97. Fortunately, the shower was good and hot
2. Neither of the DVD players worked but there was a good HDMI cord so I used my laptop to stream Netflix
3. Like I ask all hosts, more hooks to hang clothes and towels, unscented hand soap.
This was a fabulous cabin and a great location. I enjoyed hiking all the way up, up, up the road where I saw deer and turkey and made my legs good and sore. I like that the road is gated; I didn't worry about hunters. We mostly relaxed and rested on this trip but in the past have spent more time in downtown Bryson City, hiking in the woods, and shopping in Waynesville. This is an absolutely beautiful part of the country and I'm grateful to the Lasseters for sharing their delightful house with us. We'll be back!

Great 3 night stay in paradise.
We had a great time at this little piece of Heaven in the mountains. The cabin had 3 floors which our kids loved. We used the hot tub morning and night. It unfortunately rained the whole time we were there but the views and fall colors were breathtaking! The owners of the house were so prompt in answering any of our questions or concerns. The only concern was the drive up. It was steep and quite slippery but we did it and the view was worth it! Thanks for letting us stay at your cabin!

Little bit difficult to get to property but once you do it a couple of times it’s not bad. Not really a negative comment because this place is SECLUDED and that’s what we wanted. Taking garbage to offsite facility is a little weird but again not a big deal. This place is fabulous. Hummingbirds will become your friends. The internet is good and we had a decent Verizon cell signal. The internet was fast enough for us to stream a few Hulu shows. I love this place. Owner was responsive and helpful. Definitely recommend. You are 15-20 minutes from Smokey Mt National Park entrance where you can see as many Elk as you can take.

We really enjoyed everything about our trip and this cabin. The cabin is beautiful, clean, and had touches that let you know that the owner thought of everything. As others have said, arrive the first time with sunlight as the road can be (ahem) Interesting the first time… but I promise it gets better with repetition. The view is even more beautiful than all the pictures show.

Our family had a great time at the cabin. Plenty of space for our family of 5. Groceries, gas and downtown Bryson City in close range. GSMNP, Deep Creek, Nantahala Outdoor Activities in close proximity.
The drive up the mountain to the cabin was manageable in our Chrystler Pacifica and the owner has good directions to access, however, I would not recommend attempting to find it after dark the first time.
The Cabin had everything we could possibly need. The view is the best, hot tub very relaxing, and the hummingbirds are welcome visotors! A very special place with great memories for us!

We love this home above the clouds. Everything exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect location to explore Bryson City, Cherokee, Fontana Lake, and Mingo Falls. A huge shout out to Alarka Marina for our pontoon rental. Awesome experience there. Still want to know the story behind the L. Jones Memorial island on Fontana Lake!

We LOVED our stay in this beautiful cabin. We were a family of 3 so we only used the main and upper bedrooms but we had more than enough room to spread out. The kitchen was well appointed for cooking at home, and we ate in BC / got takeout sometimes too! It was great to have a bathroom for each bedroom. We loved the vaulted ceiling of the living room and the view of the mountains from every window was amazing. The cabin is perfectly situated to capture the views. The hot tub was enjoyed by my husband and our four-year-old alike. There were tons of animal books and teddy bears for her to enjoy too. :) The fireplace was great for the cozy, cabin day we had mid-week and there was always a flurry of hummingbirds and lots of cool moths would visit on rainy mornings. Bryson City is an adorable little town that was just touristy enough, meaning there were cute little shops and restaurants but nothing over the top. The access to the National Park at Deep Creek is just 5 minutes from town. The cabin was about 15 minutes outside of town and all of it windy roads and a final switchback climb on gravel drive to the cabin, which we found magical, AND it wouldn’t have a spectacular view without the uphill climb.
We were enchanted by the cabin, the town of Bryson City and the mountains, and we’ll definitely be back!
