This unit does not usually provide towels, but the host was kind enough to provide them since we were traveling from far away.
There is a washer dryer which was nice to have for getting ready for our next two weeks.
It is very close to Sleeping Bear so we went there pretty much every day of our weeklong trip
But the place needs work. The first night was rough because the mattresses are very old and stiff. The host was responsive in getting a good queen size topper the next day, and that was very much appreciated.
The refrigerator and a dehumidifier in basement under my room ran non stop which was annoying and made it hard to sleep. The kitchen faucet leaks onto the counter and end up soaking your shirt front when washing dishes.
The place needs some new dishes and a few wine glasses. It's in wine country but no wine glasses. The pots and pans were good.
The owner needs to invest in some upgrades and fix up the exterior and and tidy up yard.
Last but not least...and no fault of the host, but I got a bad case of swimmer's itch from the Lake. Don't swim in it!

We had an amazing experience staying at the cottage! The location right on big glen lake was the best thing about this adorable cottage. We had access to this gorgeous blue lake everyday and we even were able to use the mooring to store our pontoon boat for three days. The cottage slept the five of us perfectly and we were able to bring our two dogs - they love it too! We will definitely be back and this will be our home away from home.

Loved our stay. Cottage was cute and comfortable. Very conveniently located. Awesome!

Great spot to bring the family for a vacation. 10 minutes to downtown Glen Arbor, beautiful location and waterfront access on the lake. The cabin is perfect to disconnect, with privacy. Communication from the host was excellent. Would stay here again.

We loved our time in this Glen Lake cabin. It was a short (2 minute) walk to the lake with a grassy spot to read and Sandy beach for swimming. The cabin was clean and beds were comfortable.

The cabin was very, very, pleasurable. The cabin was spacious and comfy. The heating system was welcome for the cool nights while we were there. The cabin was close to the road but road noise was never noticed. The wifi was one of the best we experienced. I would definetly rent again.

This little cottage is just the ticket for a rustic, fun getaway to one of our favorite places on the planet.

It was a perfect week spent with my son and my grand kids. This little cottage is so adorable, everything you need is in there. It is very clean, has everything you need if you want to cook your food. Just the atmosphere is so good. You can sleep with the opened windows and breathe the fresh air coming from outside. Literally 2 minutes walking from the house to the lake. Already booked my next year trip. Kind of afraid, that the kids will want to make this a tradition. The real winners were my dogs. They were able to go outside for the first time in their life without leashes. They are small dogs and barkers and I always have them outside on the ropes. Here they were able to run free and feel absolutely happy. Anyway, I would recommend this cottage to anyone who is not looking for 5 stars hotel and just want to enjoy beautiful Michigan and relax.

Just what we were looking for. Beautiful lake, great location. Clean and cozy.

Very poor standard.

First the plusses- the 'backyard' has a wire fence so we could let our Max out easily w/out worry. Appreciated a freshly packaged sponge for dishes. Very little road noise even though this cottage is right on S.Dunns Farm Rd. Nestled among trees keeps the cabin cool on hot days. Cabin was clean.
The rest: It’s situated at least if not more than 100 feet from steps down to the water. Unless sitting up on the sofa you will not see the lake. The pier is shared with another cabin, and there are 4 on property along with a ‘big house’. If you’re looking for privacy, this is not for you. B/c it’s surrounded by a lot of trees & shade, letting in very little sun, the cabin itself, in our opinion, is quite dark and felt gloomy to us sitting inside on one quite cold day. Indoor lighting could be brighter esp in kitchen/dining area. We were a bit surprised at the feeble amenities inside. Not even a pellet of salt to be found. There was one lone wine glass and one lone champagne flute, and there are *some* dishes, but seems set up for one not to be doing much cooking, or just very basic cooking. Lastly, “linens provided” is not accurate. We had to bring our own bath/beach towels. If you’re looking for what I’d term more of a ‘glamping’ experience located close to SBD and Glen Arbor, would be a great place to stay if you have a dog!

My husband and dog and I went to the cabin for a few days of relaxation. The cabin is very comfortable and clean. The whole area of Glen Arbor/Maple City is so beautiful. It was an added bonus that the back yard has a fence. Thank you Jodi for the communication.

The cottage was a good size for us and our 2 dogs. ( 50 and 60 lbs) Had a small area for the dogs to go out. One of the dog love the water. The place was clean. Host easy to get in touch with. Did have a couple of electrical issues with the lights which were intermittent in nature. Did speak with host and was willing to have someone come to look at it. We decide it could wait until we left as our stay was short.
The real disappointment was mother nature was not cooperating this year. Was hoping to see more colors. We are still green in SW Ohio Still the area is pretty and quiet.

Perfect location, lovely cabin, wonderful way to spend an unplugged fall break. Can't wait to return!

If you want easy access to Sleeping Bear Dunes plus plenty of things to do in Glen Arbor, this place is perfect. And it gives you that true "up north" experience in a cottage with knotty pine floors and ceilings. Set back a bit into the woods a bit, it is one of a grouping of cottages with access to Glen Lake. The kitchen has everything you need to cook on your own, or go out to any of the excellent restaurants nearby (our favorites are Art's Tavern and La Becasse). It's clean and easy to fine. Check-in and directions were clear, and the host was communicative to ensure we had everything we needed.

The rustic little cottage in a peaceful, wooded area was perfect for our fall mini-vacation. We could see Glen lake through the trees and were able to walk the short distance down to the dock and grassy shoreline to sip some wine! Jodie was easily accessible any time, and promptly responded to our questions, before, during and after our visit. While some updates could be used, the cottage was clean and fresh and had all that was needed for cooking, etc.. We returned home refreshed from our stay, another enjoyable time spent at Glen Lake.

We stayed for a week the beginning of September 2021. I had read all the reviews on this cabin and chose it because it had great reviews. We were surprised the cabin did not live up to our expectations based on the description plus the reviews. First of all, it is not on the lake. That should be said in the first line of the description because this was misleading. It sits back on the property and you have access to the lake. This was sufficient for us but had I known this I might have picked another rental. The couch needs to be replaced! It’s age is showing. The cushions have lost their fluff and there are several spots that are ripped on the arms. There was dog hair on the pillows for the couch. When we opened the pullout, there was debris and more dog hair. There were spider webs throughout the cabin. There was dog hair throughout the cabin. No matter how much I vacuumed and swept, more just kept coming out. (Note: We did not bring a dog.) Some dishes had cracks and chips. Which is no big deal but in the time of Covid, bacteria can form in the cracks. The master bedroom had a bent screen so we had to put a towel in the crack to prevent mosquitoes from coming in. There was mold on the seal to the fridge. The toilet seat was broken as well. It is a great locations and fairly quite area. The manager was pleasant and tried to help us with the broken mooring we were allowed to use for our boat that we brought with us but the mooring was not usable. We didn’t bother her with any of these cleaning issues and concerns because we were already unpacked and cleaning it up ourselves. This would be a great cabin for a group of men who are hunting or fishing. It is rustic.

Nice. Fun.

This is a great place to stay right by the lake. You have access to the lake in front of the main house. It’s private and very nice. The house has what you need, the kitchen has what you need to cook meals without problem. You do need to bring towels but that is stated. The WiFi could definitely be better but only was an issue when it was raining otherwise we enjoyed the outdoors. The bed is comfy. There are fans for when it’s warm out. The shower is nice and hot. I would recommend staying here.

It was an absolute joy to stay on Big Glen for a week at the McCormick place managed by Jodi! I have traveled to Glen Arbor for years, and it is really difficult to find a place that is on the lake, isn't for a huge group, and is pet friendly.
The location of the cottage is fabulous for Big Glen, with Laker Shakes nearby, as well as Old Settler's Park (allowed us a place to safely walk in the mornings). Town was a quick drive, and as written, the water is RIGHT THERE! You can see the lake from the living space, and we would often read at night and just watch the sunset over the water (it was pretty cold to be outside during our trip otherwise we would have been on the dock!).
The dock was stellar with a long walk out, and steps down into the water. It was a quiet spot on the lake as well, with not as much traffic as you would get on certain parts of Big or Little Glen.
We had one small thing wrong when we arrived, and Jodi was literally right there to make it right! (The small thing could have been lived with, but I want to express to those considering staying how willing Jodi was to make things perfect for us!) She was a great, local host and that makes a huge difference up north!
If I could rent this home as my second home, I would. I've found myself in the 4 days since we left looking for any available time for the rest of the summer! Time spent on Glen Lake is always so memorable and special. Staying at the McCormick's was hands down one of my best vacations to Glen Arbor in years.

This cottage and my stay here was a GEM 💎. It was perfect for me and my pups. And the water and dock was so wonderful. Jodie was great and so responsive with needs, questions and/or requests. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you so much, Jodie! I will most certainly be back. 🙏🏻😊❤️

Cottage & location were everything it promised. Immaculate interior, charming simplicity, comfortable accommodations. Steps away from Glen Lake, short drive to quirky Glen Arbor & Sleeping Bear Dunes. Jodie was accessible & made sure we had everything we needed. Great place for a couple or a young family.

We had an amazing time at this cottage. It was perfect for my family of 5 (two adults, two 8 year olds and a 5 year old). The bunk beds were perfect for my twins and we brought an air mattress for my youngest and it was cozy and wonderful. The kitchen is fine for simple meals. There is no TV which is actually kind of great, and there is Wi-Fi so we brought a Chromebook and were able to have family movie night. My only negative is that you can't really see Glen Lake from the cabin - it's like 2 seconds away, but there is something about waking up and looking out a window to see the lake that I missed. But that is a very minor criticism - the lake was like a 30 second walk away so not a huge deal. I would not be able to spend a summer week in this cabin because it would have been a little small for us, but for a cozy fall weekend - absolute perfection. It was also very CLEAN, cute and quiet and the property manager was extremely accessible and responsive. Highly recommend.

I’m glad that the colors were still so vivid! Even though it was late in the season and definitely chilly, my friends and I had a great time.. my friends rented their own cottage from you as well I would love to return when it is considerably warmer!

Perfect location for a stay to see the fall colors, do some hiking at the dunes, visit a couple wineries and breweries in the area. My husband and I enjoyed a few nights away for a mini-vacay from the kids and the cabin did the trick. Quiet and cozy. No TV. Beautiful views over the lake and a great fire pit for a glass of wine late in the evening. Cabin is clean. No towels though so come prepared. We only brought bath towels so we were missing hand towels for the bathroom, etc. All in all, a good find in a beautiful location.

Very well maintained cottage with everything you need. There is some road noise and there are other cottages blocking the view to the lake. However, we throughly enjoyed our stay.

Overall true to listing, however could use a bit of TLC, broken towel rack and dresser. No tools for grilling and kitchen utensils a little lacking. However, great for a having a pet, don’t have to worry about messing anything up. NOTE!! Check out is at 10 not at 11 as listing suggestions.

Our trip was wonderful and the cottage was great! Upon entering the property I was confused because the pictures make it seem like it's on the water, but it's actually not. It tucked back behind another property. My disappoint faded quickly however and it's only a few extra steps to get down to the lake. I do realize now that it says that information in the listing, but it's not very obvious. That being said, It's a very charming cottage with everything you need and we felt very relaxed and comfortable. The beds are great, even the pull out sofa has a new mattress in it. You just can't beat the view at Glen Lake. The sunsets every night were breathtaking and the water is crystal clear. We had fun collecting rocks and driftwood. It's also so close to all the wonderful things northern michigan has to offer. We visited multiple spots along Sleeping Bear Dunes, Empire, Glen Arbor, and Leland. We have an 8 and 5 year old and they had so much fun. Our dogs loved it too! The only hard part is that check out is pretty early...to get out at 10am with a family feels so rushed. Other than that, we loved our stay very much!

This cottage served it's purpose well for our family with two small children. Location was great for easy access to everything we wanted to see at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

The property is clean and cute and the actual owner of the cabins could not have been nicer. She was on location at the time staying in one of the other cabins. We would love to visit this place again in the future with a larger group. Lake is beautiful. However, the customer service skills of the property manager left a little bit to be desired. The cleaning crew turned up early on checkout day, according to the time posted in the app, and although we rushed to get out of their way, it was a bit chaotic upon departure. I expressed disappointment at an unfortunate end to our lovely trip but she was not at all apologetic, which surprised me since all I wanted was a brief, “oh, we are so sorry for that.” Clearly, this will not impact your enjoyment of the cottage if you make sure to vacate by 10am, but that is a bit challenging for a family with young kids, in my opinion, so make sure to specifically request a later checkout if need be. Check-in is not until 4pm so this should be a feasible arrangement at times that are not the absolute peak weeks of summer. Aside from this, we appreciated all of the provisions from our comfort in the cabin and look forward to returning at some future point in time.

The location of this cabin is ideal, right on the beautiful blue waters of Big Glen. There are four cabins and this one is in the back, closer to the road, but you are given full access to the beach, dock and firepit of the main home. There were a couple of other families staying at the cabins but it was very quiet and serene in the woods. The cabin was comfortable for our family and 2 dogs. It was within walking distance to Settler's park and an ice cream shop. The furnishings are old but it's quaint and we didn't have to worry much about our kids or dogs ruining anything so it worked out well for us. If you are looking for modern, this is not the place for you. But it's a cute little cabin that served our needs and you can't beat the price to be on Glen Lake. We had a cool week so the lack of A/C was no issue for us. There are 3 fans there for your use. Overall we were happy and would recommend to other families!

Beautiful lake and clear water ! Loved the area! Only complaint is that the water area is shade covered until about noon .

We had the most amazing time at the Stobel cottage. It was absolutely perfect...clean and spacious with lots of character. We loved waking up and enjoying our coffee on the dock in the morning. The location of McCormick Place was incredibly convenient to Glen Arbor as well as Suttons Bay, Leland, Empire, Traverse City. It was a nice central location for us to explore the area. Jodi was so easy to work with and quickly responded to any question we had. We only wish we could have stayed longer, but we're looking forward to coming again next year!

I arrived after a storm and the internet was out. The host had it up and running the next day. Beautiful, quiet setting. the cabin was clean, the kitchen well stocked, and 2 big fans kept the air flowing.

We had a great one week stay in the Strobel cottage from 7/29-8/5. The cabin was cute, cozy and provided everything that we needed. Glen Arbor and the surrounding area is our favorite places in MI. We have two young kids (ages 3 & 16 months) and we loved that we were able to bring our dog along with us. We enjoyed spending time on the dock, campfires at night and the close proximity to Glen Arbor. We walked the heritage trail daily to Glen Haven beach which was beautiful. Not much of a sandy area for the kids to sit and play in the sand at the cottage, but that was fine since Glen Haven beach was so convienent. We rented bikes from The Cyclery and rode into Empire. We enjoyed eating at Riverfront pizza & deli, Boonedocks and Arts. We rented a pontoon for a day from On the Narrows Marina and loved being able to spend time on the water. Make sure to bring dish towels with your towels, all of the other linens are provided. Jodie was excellent to work with and not only was she very easy to reach and prompt with her response, she really made sure that we were all set for our stay and we really appreciated that. We definitely will plan to return to the Strobel cottage again!

The Strobel cottage is a really cute and comfortable cottage with beach access to Big Glen Lake.
We stayed there with our family of 5 and our 2 dogs and had a great time.
The quiet mornings on the dock, bonfires at night and beautiful sunset right over Glen Lake and the Sleeping Bear Dunes were just beautiful. Glen Arbor and Traverse City are a short car ride from the cottage and always worth a trip.
Great place to relax and enjoy Northern Michigan. I’m sure we’ll be back!
