About this house rental

Situated in Three Rivers, this lovely house for $623 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Kaweah Lake House overlooks beautiful Lake Kaweah. We are at the entrance to Three Rivers. There is not another vacation home around that has the expansive views we offer! Breathtaking views of the lake and the Sequoia's above. This property is eight miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. Walking distance to the lake and recreation area. Visit Sequoia National Park - California's first national park and America's second oldest park. Visit the General Sherman Tree, the earth's largest living tree. Take a walk through Giant Forest and hike up Moro Rock. Take a tour of Crystal Cave (open May-September) and see almost 250 caves formed of limestone. Drive up our lighted driveway that encircles the house. Here there is adequate parking for three vehicles. Kaweah Lake House offers four well crafted bedrooms with one master suite and master bathroom encompassing the second story; three additional bedrooms and one and a half bathrooms down stairs. Property sleeps twelve people comfortably. *Upstairs master suite (bedroom #1)- one king bed, bathroom with walk in shower, dual sinks, and walk in closet. Also has outdoor terrace with two chairs and table which overlooks Lake Kaweah. *Downstairs master suite (bedroom #2) - one king bed, full closet, bathroom with tub/shower combination, single sink bathroom. *Downstairs bedroom (bedroom #3) - one queen bed, views of the lake. *Downstairs bedroom (bedroom #4) - two bunk bed's with twin/full combination, full closet. *There is an additional half bathroom with sink and toilet down the hallway. Dinner table seats six guests comfortably. We do provide an additional folding table and six chairs that are stored in the garage. Living room is an open floor plan with numerous windows to look out at the lake. Sectional couch and additional chairs provide this room with plenty of room to gather as family and friends. Washer and dryer available for guest use. Step outside onto the deck that is almost 2000 square feet. There are two patio tables that seat twelve people. Relax in the seven person Jacuzzi on the deck and watch the gorgeous sunset over the lake. *We have recently converted our garage and equipped it with an arcade game, life size connect four and air hockey table. On the northeast side of the property step off the deck and onto our terrace with additional seating and a fire ring. Make your memories here roasting Smore's and retelling all those campfire stories! From August through rain season, Lake Kaweah has minimum water pool. Lake levels rise when the rain and run off from snow pack comes (typically from April through July the lake is full.....dependent on rain amounts). This means there is still water in the lake for boaters and swimmers, however not as much as a normal season provides (water is much lower than pictured). Unless otherwise agreed upon with owner, normal check in time is 3:30pm on your arrival date, and check out time is 10:30am on the day of your departure. **Please note: ABSOLUTELY no pets or smoking! Please be respectful of this for the health of our guests.** *Holiday weekends require a three night minimum stay.* While we have strived to make our home as comfortable as possible for you please do keep in mind that we are in a rustic, Mountain area. We experience hot, dry summers and from time to time also have critters small and large that are on, around and in the property. We do our very best to keep them outside however again you are in a mountain area where these critters lived long before we did. We are using their land and see it as a prime opportunity to know what exists, lives and flourishes here in the mountains. We do offer a Wi-Fi (however sometimes we feel like pulling our hair out with it) we hope that you will understand again we are in the mountains and have the best service that is offered to us (which is very limited). If there is a period of downtime or the Wi-Fi may not be working to your expectations, we encourage you to take a step outside and enjoy nature. Let your mind relax and try again later!

The house is gorgeous and just the right amount of amenities for a comfortable stay in an oasis. The overlook and sunset is breathtaking. The games and inclusions (hot tub and game room) were top notch and ensured we had a variety of activities to choose from. It was amazing and will be back.

We absolutely adored staying at this amazing house overlooking the lake. We were a party of four friends so we had more than enough space. The bedrooms are really well sized and the lounge area is big enough for a very large party. The kitchen was very well equipped and we appreciated the large fridge and freezer. There was also a fridge for us to keep beer cool in the garage. The garage is set up as a games room with air hockey, table soccer and a retro video game machine. The place was perfect on arrival, very clean and welcoming and the wifi was good for such a remote area. Instructions for entry, very clear and well communicated. Our favourite area and the place we spent most of our time was the outside deck. It is huge and the views of the lake are amazing. There is a canopy to shelter from the sun and plenty of tables and seating. There’s also the hot tub where we enjoyed watching the sunsets with some drinks. We really couldn’t have asked for more! Thanks so much for having us. We wished we could have stayed for longer!

We arrived at night, discovered roaches very active in the kitchen. I messaged Dena early the next morning, she requested pictures and a time we would be gone so she could send pest control. There were delays of communication on my part due to lack of cell service when away from the house. A roach was sitting on a sandwich made only 30 seconds before, one crawled up on a coffee while I was sitting at the table. Pest control came while we were gone, but had no effect on the roaches. Dena said they were water bugs, so I sent proof that they are German cockroaches, she said I only sent pictures of a few dead roaches. We couldn’t get the live bugs pose, so we had to kill them for photographic evidence of their species. Two of our group are professional cooks, so it was disheartening to cook with roaches. We couldn’t read the temp on the oven because the roaches gather inside the electronics when the oven is on. These are not “critters” or part of rural life; roaches were brought in by guests from cities. While I understand that Dena was trying deal with the problem, I shouldn’t have to have a debate about the nature of the problem. Her remedy was to send pest control, which had no impact on the roach population, or to have us leave and be refunded for the rest of our stay. To find last minute accommodation for 6, and moving my 80yo mother was not an option for us. I know that problems arise in any house, but this was not one that could be meaningfully resolved during our stay.

The location was fantastic. Close to town, restaurants, and the Sequoia Park entrance. The home was very clean and had plenty of space to fit two families of four very comfortably. Views were spectacular and were enjoyed every morning and evening. Home was a little difficult to find the first time because we made the mistake of solely relying on the GPS to find it. Once we followed the instructions originally provided by the host it was no problem. We would definitely recommed this place to anyone visiting the area.

We had a wonderful stay in this home. The view from the deck across the lake is absolutely incredible! And you cannot see any other homes around you. Yes, there are insects, mice and ants as other reviews state but that’s to be expected in a home surrounded by nature the way this home is. We weren’t bothered by them at all. The only difficulty we had with the lay out was the 2 full bathrooms were en-suite and so others staying in the other bedrooms had to access the bathrooms through the bedroom. This wouldn’t be a factor for a single family. But if you have a couple families staying together this may be an issue. Nice and close to the Sequoia entrance. Would definitely recommend this home if your visiting either Sequoia or Kings Canyon. The entrance to kings Canyon is just over an hr away, if you don’t drive through Sequoia. Thank you again for the wonderful stay!

We arrived to the front gate being completely broken…we entered the property to find the front door missing its bottom sweep so there was a 3/4 Inch gap under the front door so immediately my wife and kids were freaking out thinking there were snakes and spiders that had come into the house. Being in the mountains this is a huge safety concern and should not have been overlooked by the property owner! We ended up leaving a few hours later as there were hundreds of bugs throughout the house and bedrooms. Amazing view and location but the e property is not properly maintained!
