Remodeled Stone House, Close To Down Town, Family & Dog Friendly, Great Deal!
About this house rental
Located in Canon City, this lovely house for $205 per night is a great option for your next trip. One of Canon City's original stone houses, built in 1902 was completely gutted recently from foundation to roof. Everything has been completely restored, preserving the old wooden trim and hardwood floors, yet bringing in new life with all the modern amenities. This 2 story, 3 bedroom, 2 full bath, living room, kitchen, pantry, game room, and fenced in backyard, includes large, new high-end windows, 10 foot high ceilings, and many energy efficient features. The main floor includes an open kitchen and dining table which seats 6, along with a pantry and all things needed to cook a delicious meal. There is a large living room that provides a very comfortable setting with new sofas, cushioned chairs and a large flat screen TV with cable and a DVD player; Internet is also provided. All three bedrooms present a comfortable atmosphere and act as an oasis for relaxation. The main floor bedroom holds a queen bed and the two upstairs bedrooms hold a queen bed in one room and two twin beds in the other bedroom. There is a balcony w/ seating off the upstairs queen bedroom. The game room is off the kitchen; a welcome setting for games, darts, poker table, a bar-top and additional room with plenty of storage. This room leads to the fenced in backyard where the patio furniture and gas grill are. Horseshoes in yard adjacent to this. A doggie door has been installed with a removable security panel if you wish to use it that leads to the fenced in yard. There are two bathrooms, one on each level of the house. The downstairs bathroom includes a spacious shower and the upstairs bathroom includes a large jetted tub. Stairs separate the two floors and as this is an older house, they are steeper and narrower than newer houses. The house has central air conditioning and central heat, and runs on a tank-less hot water heater. Solar panels have recently been installed. All guests are provided linens and towels. The house sits on 1 acre, is located at a dead end road, and has the east side of the property backed up to the high school fields; therefore the house is located in a quiet neighborhood and has a very secluded feel. There is 1 available driveway, which is very large and able to park trailers & boats. An unlocked shed is located to store any large equipment such as bikes or kayaks. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION 7 blocks from downtown Cañon City and 5-10 minute drive to many activities including Royal Gorge Railroad, Royal Gorge Bridge, wine tasting, zip-lining, whitewater rafting, hiking, biking, rock climbing, horseback riding, helicopter rides, segway tours, jeep tours, fishing, golfing, hunting, kayak park, splash pad, hot springs, & antiquing. 2 blocks and within walking distance are parks, tennis courts, and the high school fields where many locals take advantage of its use, including walking their family dogs or playing a game of soccer! This is the PERFECT location as a base to all the surrounding areas of southern Colorado including Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Cripple Creek, Salida, Westcliffe, Florence, and Pueblo that are all within 1 hour. Attractions in these areas include but definitely not limited to Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Olympic Training Center, Cave of the Winds, Dinosaur Resource Center, Mining Railroad, Casinos, Bishops Castle, and shopping. Cañon City is especially proud to have many of Colorado's Scenic Byways run right through our backyard in all directions, so scenic drives are a must! Cañon City is a very convenient, comfortable, and affordable place to stay with all the friendly locals and none of the hustle and bustle of the larger cities near by.

We enjoyed the historic stone home it gave us plenty of room to visit with our family. There were several interesting touches that the home owners did for comfort during the visit. The ease of the fenced yard and dog door was nice.

Quaint, turn of the 19th century house with modern bathrooms and kitchen. Nice area for dogs and very central to anything in the Canon City general area.

House was great for our climbing group. Tight kitchen when there are multiple cooks, but we did fine. Comfortable, clean and easy access to groceries and restaurants. Our host, Fleur, was an excellent communicator.

We had a family reunion to meet new great grandbabies. It was perfect! Plenty of room in backyard for everyone and we really needed to get the family together. Stepdad is last parent left and it was great for him to be with everybody. Thanks for a wonderful time Fleur!

We LOVED Whipple house. It’s beautiful and quirky and very roomy! We loved the patio with the table and lots of chairs. All the extras in the kitchen were great. Beds and bedding was perfect. The location was wonderful. We highly recommend and hope to stay here again❤️

We were pleasantly surprised with the antique but also modern charm of the house. You had everything we needed and plenty of it. Our little dog liked the fenced in yard. Great location for Royal Gorge activities. Would suggest a screen door on front door as weather was nice we could have opened door for breeze. And possibly a curtain on upstairs bedroom door. Other than that it was awesome and we will definitely stay there again! Thanks so much for all the thoughts put into what would be needed for a family!

Everything was great. Wished the lawn was mowed. Some of the towels smelled like dog and some smelled moldy. But we had a wonderful time. Thank you so very much

This is the second time we have stayed here. Love the location and the home is super comfy! Due to rain this time, we couldn't be outside as much but still got in a game or two of bags. Thank you!

The property is beautiful and rustic. It has so much character. The only downside is that the hot tub is a jacuzzi bathtub. It was a great space and worked well for the 4 of us. I would definitely stay here again.

From our first message interaction regarding the property I was impressed by the swift, direct, and welcoming attitude Fluer showed. The house was clean. Things for use, such as kitchenware and exra blankets, towels etc, were organized. She even has a welcome book with rental details to remember and local restaurant and touristy things. Highly recommend. Very friendly. We saw deer walking through the neighborhood each day we were there, including a young buck in the drive to greet us as we exeted to start our activities.

Loved the house, but the key to the door kept getting stuck in the door after being unlocked. Beds were comfy. Pet friendly which our little dog Gunner appreciated immensely. The gate did not lock either. Overall all great place for us to stay while visiting family in Colorado.

We had a great stay at Fleur's house. The kitchen was well equipped to make a big dinner and a big breakfast. The dogs could come and go through the dog door in the back. Fleur had clear instructions and was very responsive!

Older, historic home in the heart of Canon City and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, and most importantly coffee in the morning. House was fully stocked with utensils, cooking appliances, etc. and made for an easy week while I had to work. Would stay again.

I loved the home had a homey feeling. The furniture was in good condition however my husband and I felt the couch and bed downstairs needed to be replaced. We liked the house was near a school. We got to watch their football practice while eating dinner. The home had much more amenities that other homes did not offer. If I had to change anything I would probably request to have a better front door for safety issues and pest control as we saw huge bug (not roaches). Other than that the stay was amazing. I would highly recommend this home.

We had a lovely, comfortable stay. The photos do the house justice. It was clean and well kept.
All appliances worked well, plenty of hot water and good water pressure. We were there during a hot spell and the A/C kept the house cool.
For dog owners, we encountered a loose dog on one of our walks...just be aware.
