Had a fabulous 4 day stay at Ellers Bank. The cottage was very well equipped, comfortable, warm and homely. Would definitely stay there again. Lovely walks start right outside the cottage. The only reason I have marked down the amenities is because we didn't use them at all so therefore have no experience of them - but it didn't seem fair to mark down too far. we really enjoyed our break other than a couple of small issues the cottage got very warm quite quickly so had to vent it quite a lot despite turning the radiators down and the toilet overflow needs adjustment. However our dogs loved it and all of the family felt recharges and relaxed Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Beautiful countryside with great walks on your doorstep, didn’t need to move the car all week which was great. Cottage is well situated down a quiet road, was warm, a good size and nicely equipped. Amenities in the village are fine with a choice of numerous pubs and small shops, however due to the times we live in have certain restrictions in place at the moment, as in opening times, space and can be expensive! We were very fortunate with great weather all week (apart from one wet day) and all the family plus dogs enjoyed the fresh air and views. We would highly recommend Ellers Bank and Hayfield to all and we would book again when visiting this area in the future. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The oven and cooker hood were disgusting and there was so much mould in the washing machine that I had to rewash my clothes. The freezer could do with being defrosted too. In the garden, the fence was rotten and you would not like to fall onto the patio. There was a washing line but no pegs. Hot water was intermittent and there were some lightbulbs out but nothing to replace them with. I suspect the owner hasn't visited for a while as there was some post awaiting his attention. Some nice touches, though such as a dog towel and bowls and plenty of kitchen equipment. We love Hayfield and have visited before but to another property. The people are very friendly and there are some lovely walks.
