Great location and lovely, well equipped house

Great location, just minutes from the shops/restaurants etc and on a nice quiet back road that only seems to have dog walkers going past Major plus was being able to park directly outside the property with a dedicated parking space.

We were quite surprised to discover that, unlike the description which stated that the owner lives next door, in fact it is one property that has been divided up. Had we known that we wouldn’t have stayed. There is a glass door in the hallway that looks directly into the owners accommodation which thankfully has a curtain drawn across but just doesn’t feel right. There were a couple of times where the owner, a perfectly lovely lady, just came into the garden and started watering and weeding which was kind of awkward and not really what we expected or wanted. The layout of the (lovely) garden is such that there are parts that are directly overlooked from the owners accommodation, which for us made it feel that it wasn’t private enough, but maybe that’s a personal thing. The cleanliness of the kitchen could have been a lot better. Bearing in mind there were seven available hours to turn the property around (check in 5pm!! check out 10am) they could have at least made sure things like cupboard fronts weren’t sticky, the cutlery drawer we had to abandon and just ran all the cutlery/cups/glasses/plates etc through the dishwasher. Bedding and towels seemed cleaned enough and bathrooms were acceptable. Not sure that the vase of dead sweet peas was quite the welcome we were after either 😂
