The views were spectacular. Fully furnished kitchen. One of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on in a rental for the master bedroom.

We really loved this house. The view was absolutely amazing. The only issue we had was when arriving the key was not in the lockbox but under the mat.

Just fell horribly short everywhere else. On 8/19/2022, a group of 11 of us arrived shortly after the 4 pm check in and upon heading straight to the back deck, we were immediately greeted with the most spectacular views! Then we made our way into the main cabin. Our feet were immediately greeted with filth (hair, rocks, dirt and dust) which only accumulated with every step further in. The steps leading up to the bedrooms offered no escape from the filth and none of the bed sheets were clean enough to be considered acceptable. While there was a lot of seating space in the living room, there was only one couch that had just a small amount of animal hair on it; the rest were all but covered in a thick layer of hair, dust and dirt. The bunk house was no better…in fact the state was even worse than the main cabin. This is the first time in my 6+ years of using VRBO that I have ever experienced this level of uncleanliness. You might think that was the worst of it, but full disclaimer - beware of properties that show being managed by VACASA through VRBO as I am painfully finding out that you need to be sure to reach out to BOTH entities immediately with any issues that come up. I say this because when I went back through the emails to find someone to reach out to, the last correspondence I had was an email from VACASA with all of the check in information so naturally I reached out to VACASA to begin the ordeal of ultimately requesting a cancellation and refund of our reservation due to the uninhabitable conditions of the living quarters. About an hour after check in and after sending VACASA roughly a dozen emails worth of pictures for reference, I was told that “the property manager has all of the information and will get back to us as soon as they have an update” at which point we proceeded to book another property. This is where it gets ugly. I never did reach out direct to VRBO during this ordeal and as of 8/23 I still have not received a refund or update from the property manager. After just contacting VRBO, I’ve been advised that had we reached out sooner, there “may” have been “something” that we “could” have done, but at this point, I’m on my own with VACASA and the property manager. Really thought VRBO would have our back on this given the documentation and circumstances of our check in, but apparently shame on me for not reaching out direct sooner. I’ve left out a ton due to character count limitat
