Beautiful views and great hot tub!

The views were spectacular. Fully furnished kitchen. One of the most comfortable beds we’ve ever slept on in a rental for the master bedroom.

We really loved this house. The view was absolutely amazing. The only issue we had was when arriving the key was not in the lockbox but under the mat.

Just fell horribly short everywhere else.
On 8/19/2022, a group of 11 of us arrived shortly after the 4 pm check in and upon heading straight to the back deck, we were immediately greeted with the most spectacular views! Then we made our way into the main cabin.
Our feet were immediately greeted with filth (hair, rocks, dirt and dust) which only accumulated with every step further in. The steps leading up to the bedrooms offered no escape from the filth and none of the bed sheets were clean enough to be considered acceptable.
While there was a lot of seating space in the living room, there was only one couch that had just a small amount of animal hair on it; the rest were all but covered in a thick layer of hair, dust and dirt.
The bunk house was no better…in fact the state was even worse than the main cabin.
This is the first time in my 6+ years of using VRBO that I have ever experienced this level of uncleanliness.
You might think that was the worst of it, but full disclaimer - beware of properties that show being managed by VACASA through VRBO as I am painfully finding out that you need to be sure to reach out to BOTH entities immediately with any issues that come up. I say this because when I went back through the emails to find someone to reach out to, the last correspondence I had was an email from VACASA with all of the check in information so naturally I reached out to VACASA to begin the ordeal of ultimately requesting a cancellation and refund of our reservation due to the uninhabitable conditions of the living quarters.
About an hour after check in and after sending VACASA roughly a dozen emails worth of pictures for reference, I was told that “the property manager has all of the information and will get back to us as soon as they have an update” at which point we proceeded to book another property. This is where it gets ugly.
I never did reach out direct to VRBO during this ordeal and as of 8/23 I still have not received a refund or update from the property manager. After just contacting VRBO, I’ve been advised that had we reached out sooner, there “may” have been “something” that we “could” have done, but at this point, I’m on my own with VACASA and the property manager.
Really thought VRBO would have our back on this given the documentation and circumstances of our check in, but apparently shame on me for not reaching out direct sooner.
I’ve left out a ton due to character count limitat

Pros- the view, cleanliness, soft pillows, beautiful decks! The living spaces were open and great for hanging out. Second living space for a second family to have privacy. The 2 large beds in the main house were very comfortable.
Cons- kitchen lacked regular items such as measuring cups and cheese grater. The hot tub was cold upon arrival and not ready to use until the second day. The kids were quite disappointed as this was our main reason for choosing this booking.
The booking says 3 bedrooms and describes the second cabin which leads one to think that the main house has 3 rooms when it is only 2.
The bunk beds are extremely uncomfortable and ‘rickety’ feeling. We didn’t have much info for check out and the check out time was 10 wherein most often it is 11 which makes for a rushed morning - on a vacation weekend.

Wonderful Stay
This place is so peaceful, and we loved getting to spend a few days here. The views of the mountains and the water (and Canada) are unbeatable, including sunrise and sunset. Port Angeles and Dungeness Spit are visible. There were lots of birds and chipmunks to watch, and on our last day we even had a deer visitor. Nicely isolated, but not far from anything you could need.

As we drove up the driveway to the home, we couldn’t believe the views and got so excited when we arrived. We all just stood on the porch in awe of the view. Home and beds were comfortable. Enjoyed the hot tub in the evening and couldn’t believe all the stars, even saw several shooting stars from the Persiad Meteor shower. Wished we had booked more nights!

From the howling coyotes in the valley to the hot tub with a view of Vancouver island; from the cozy bunk house to tthe very well appointed kitchen, this house is everything we were promised. And of course there is the unparalleled beauty of the National Park within easy driving distance. Vacation doesn't get much better than this.

Great location for a private getaway
We loved our stay. The views are fantastic. We really enjoyed watching the eagles from the deck. Wifi was impressively good for such an isolated location.

We love the warm home, the view of sunrise and sunset over the mountains. We love the solitude, the hot tub, the room to spread out. We loved the good kitchen, fantastic showers. Plus, so many interesting books about the area and its history. We would re-book now, if it we available!

We would give this property 5 stars based on its amazing remote location and views of the Cascades, the Straight and Canada, plus its homey and spacious feel. The kitchen is also well-stocked with cookware and spices. But the place was not well-cleaned when we arrived....we spent about 45 minutes sweeping up dust and dog hair throughout the main home and bunkhouse. The furniture was covered in dog hair — we knew it was a dog friendly property but still. It just didn’t have a super clean feel. The other issue was that the fire pit, which we were looking forward to using, was unexpectedly out of order. And the frame for the hot tub lid was broken. So, still a great place but recommend checking on status of the amenities if these are important to you. And that more attention is paid to the cleaning, especially given the cleaning fee being charged to customers.

Excellent hidden gem
Our group totally loved this place. The magnificent views from here were comparable to the hurricane ridge. The only downside is that the uphill drive to this place is a bit secluded with sharp turns and narrow pathways. Would have been nice to put some signboards saying- "Don't worry, keep going... awesomeness awaits you at the top :)"...

Fantastic Views
Overall a great experience. It's pretty up the mountain which offers great views (if the fog/clouds clear up!) and amazing sunsets from the hot tub. Everything was clean and easy to find. Lots of activities for all ages (games, movies, telescope). The hot tub was great. The fridge/freezer had a little trouble keeping things cold but that could have just been that we loaded it up with groceries.

Fantastic location
Enjoyed the views and the home. The hot tub was great, the kitchen had lots of dishes so cooking was easy.
The only drawback was that the mattresses were not very comfortable. 🤨 I ended up blowing up an air mattress I brought with me.

Amazing View!
The view from this home is absolutely incredible! It was a wonderful spot for our large group to spend some time. The kids loved having the bunk house to themselves and exploring the forests around the house. However, the driveway was difficult in our minivan (we could hear the bottom of the van scraping on the large rocks in the driveway)...and the cleanliness of the house left something to be desired.

Family Reunion for ages 10 months to 65 years old coming out from Minnesota for the first time
It always makes me nervous when working with a property management company that have a lot of different people handling the property - I think I emailed/communicated with about 5 different people prior to checking in. So, afterward, when I sent them the following feedback email, it doesn't surprise me that I didn't get a response back:
Hello,
Prior to my review on VRBO, I wanted to make you aware of a couple of things related to the property:
1. We left behind a new pack 'n play and booster seat for future guests, if you so desire to keep them for that purpose. If not, I can arrange a time to pick them up.
2. There were mice in the main cabin - we did not check the bunk house cabin. However, there were active mice in the 2nd floor room with the full bed and bunk beds and in the kitchen corner where the toaster is located on the counter.
Other than those two comments/feedback, the place was lovely and we had a good stay.
Thank you,
