Located in Mission Beach, this charming condo for $367 per night is a great choice for your next trip. 1 Month Minimum Stay ABOUT THE APARTMENT: Located on the boardwalk upstairs of the building, the Hamel's Castle is an oceanfront luxurious unit. It has a spacious 440 sq ft furnished terrace and breathtaking views. The location by itself is priceless. The apartment is right on the boardwalk and a couple steps away from the famous Belmont Park. There are retailers downstairs and many shops around, bars, restaurants, pizzerias, etc. Starbucks is on the corner. Downtown San Diego is easy to reach from here by car (15 minutes) and so are most of San Diego's attractions such as Sea World (5 minutes), Legoland (30 minutes) and the San Diego Zoo (20 minutes) on light traffic day. This comfortable 1,950 sq ft luxurious apartment offers everything you need right on the beach. You will enjoy the nicest sunset or just the beach atmosphere in the beautiful Mission Beach in San Diego. The apartment features a fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, slab granite counters, pantry room and designer finishes throughout. The living room area opens up to a spacious private balcony on the 1st floor that offers lots of seating, gas BBQ, and the beautiful ocean view. Washer and dryer in-unit. Sleeping arrangements include one king bed and two queen beds plus a futon sofa in the living room. This apartment will accommodate up to 8 people - considering that 2 people will sleep in the living room on the futon (kids preferably). No private parties with more than maximum occupancy are allowed in the unit. Maximum capacity is not to be exceeded. Parking: One car garage detached but inside of the castle. We are located inside the Hamels castle at the first floor. There are 20-25 steps on the stairs No elevator. No handicapped access. Sorry, this is an old building. There are security cameras surrounding the building, Verizon antenna and power generator in the building. Here are some details about Mission Beach and surrounding areas to help you with your decision to stay in Mission Beach: Mission-Beach is a San Diego favorite among locals and visitors alike. It lies between Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean and has nearly two miles of beautiful white sandy beach. The area is filled with pastel-colored houses, condos, old style cottages, beach apartments and hotels. The colorful Boardwalk at Mission Beach runs for three miles ending north of Pacific Beach and is always filled with bicyclists, runners, skateboarders and rollerblades, and has designated lanes for walking. You can engage in people-watching and sunbathing on Mission Beach, or the more strenuous activities of swimming, surfing, body boarding, and kayaking. The southern part of Mission Beach is known for its' beach volleyball. To the east lies Mission Bay, which contains two islands with many coves and inlets, and has a large marina for pleasure boaters, and facilities for picnics, camping and fishing. One special point of interest at Mission Beach is Belmont Park, once the site of an amusement park that now is home to shops and restaurants, and a completely restored roller coaster. This 73-foot wooden roller coaster called the 'Big Dipper' was built in 1925, closed in 1976 and reopened in 1990. Everything is convenient for visitors to Mission Beach; just two blocks east are coffeehouses, fast food, taco shops, ethnic food or fine dining. Bicycles are available for rent on the Boardwalk right below the unit, located inside a Mission Beach historical landmark: The Hamels Castle! Note: Mission Beach is also known as the place for young groups; if you are noise sensitive you probably should research more before making a commitment to stay in this area. We are in the middle of the action. I am not kidding! Property is well kept and stocked with everything you will need. Rooms are spacious and beds are comfortable. Parking a bit tricky but manageable. Only downside is the homeless person that camped out on the beach across from property, buts that's not the fault of property owners. Otherwise excellent views of the beach you are right in the middle of a lively action packed West Coast Boardwalk. Place is centrally located to all San Diego sights

If you're looking for a place right by the beach, this is it, it's literally like maybe a 15 second walk. Besides being a short walk to the ocean, there is everything you could need in walking distance around you. I would definitely stay here again.

Property was perfect for our family. It’s basically 3 master bedrooms each with their own bathroom. We felt safe & secure with a gated locked entry.

The rental property was better than I expected. Plenty of room for me and my family, rooms and restrooms were great, location was excellent. My mother was extremely happy that it was a unique outside design lol( castle theme) . Thank you very much Claudia for allowing myself and my family for calling it home the past few days, definitely will be coming back again if time allows it.👍

Great property in an Excellent location
The property location is amazing. Right on the corner of the most bustling San Diego beach. The check in instructions were spot on. The highlight of our trip was sitting in the balcony and soaking it all in when kids are on the beach! The home is clean and has all ameneties for a relaxed vacation. Thank you Claudia for the music box! Great beach vacation after 13 months!!

WOW, fantastic trip!! Exceeded our expectations
What a SPECTACULAR getaway to the beach! The location is great with a huge 2nd floor balcony that overlooks the boardwalk. We were just steps from the sand, and Claudia conveniently provided beach chairs/umbrella/blanket/towels so we could pop out easily to an oceanside spot. The kids (7 and 9 years old) spent a lot of time in the ocean waves, and thought it was amazing to have Roku and a big TV in their room! Claudia thought of everything, and the Castle is fully stocked with almost anything you might need, so we ended up stopping by the grocery store and preparing several meals and eating them by sunset each night. Having our private VRBO condo made this an easy trip and we were fully able follow COVID guidelines and feel safe the whole time. The boardwalk has a lot to offer, including bike rentals, tons of snacks, Starbucks 1 block away, and lots of people-watching! When our travels bring us back to San Diego, it's a no-brainer, we want to stay here again!! Thank you!

Perfect location to be right in the action and walking distance to everything.
The deck was huge and all 6 of us could sit outside together. The house had everything needed including beach towels.
The owner was quick to answer any questions. The house was a great size for 6 adults to be together and have their own time too. We can’t say enough positive about this rental.

Overall good experience with my children although the cable in the unit was out due to negligence from the previous tenant our stay was enjoyable and we bonded more which is the beauty of our stay.

Firewood smoke
It was a great place to stay and the location awesome... the only negative which isn’t really bothersome, we weren’t able to keep any doors or windows open to get any fresh air, because of the firewood and marijuana smells and knowing how sensitive the owner is to getting smoke smell inside the house. It was a great concern because the smells were so strong and we were worried the smell would come inside and owner would think we caused the smell. Other then that, everything was great.

Best location on Mission Beach
This was the absolute best location on Mission Beach!! Directly on the beach with the boardwalk right in front. And with many shops and restaurants right around the corner it was so convenient just to walk everywhere.

Everything went smoothly from the well written pre rental instructions to the check out requirements. Plenty of room for everyone and access to all the stores,rental shops and dining were only steps from home. It was very comfortable and relaxing and EVERYONE WANTS TO GO BACK NEXT YEAR!

Perfect Vacation Home
We cannot stop talking about how much we loved our stay at the Castle. Claudia was so pleasant and easy to communicate with! The home setup is ideal -- each bedroom is in its own wing and has privacy. The location cannot be beat--we were right in the action of Mission Beach. It took 90 seconds to be in the water. The deck is amazing and the grill was fantastic. The Castle had everything we needed-- beach towels, boogie boards, laundry and a kitchen with all of the essentials. The parking space accommodated a full size SUV and a mid size SUV. The shop downstairs was so convenient and the staff was very welcoming. We rented bikes every day and it could not have been easier. For activities, we had a beach bonfire, Duffy boat cruise and surfing lessons (all privately arranged and paid for) -- there is so much to do in Mission Beach! Thank you, Claudia, for being a fantastic host and helping our family to make memories that will last forever.

Had a great time at the castle. The location right on the boardwalk can't be beat. Interior was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Some outside patio furniture showing a bit of wear but to be expected in that environment. We will definitely come back.

Very clean and well maintained house. Great location, walking distance to several attractions. Around 27 dollar Uber ride from the airport and around the same amount to the SD Zoo. Highly recommend this house, you’ll love it!
