Built in 1780, The Priory is a truly unique piece of property built by the local Lord Kenmare for a French aristocrat fleeing the French Revolution. Inundated with old world character, this property of the O'Donoghue Family is a place of welcome, comfort and intense charm. Set on the door step of Killarney National Park we have two Courtyard Stone Cottages all of various design and layout. The cottages are tucked into a very beautiful and quite walled courtyard setting. The Loft and Coach House cottages were meticulously restored between 2004 and 2006 and will offer you a retreat in style and comfort. So if you are interested in hiking, biking, golfing, shopping or want to take a cooking class all this can be arranged. Killarney town centre is 1 km or a 10 minute stroll, in the opposite direction over the river you are immediately upon a pedestrian way snaking its way 2km into Killarney's 11,000 acre National Park, Muckross House & Gardens. A 5 minute walk to the INEC. Ask about mid-season specials. Also ask about airport pick ups or Tim driving you around 'The Ring' and Dingle. This was our first time in Ireland. Killarney is a great place with access to all the best spots to give you the Ireland experience. The priory provided our home away from home with a cozy garden rustic feel. While it was a good walk to Killarney it provided the perfect spot for the 6 of us to enjoy Ireland!

Our family of 4 really enjoyed our stay. There was ample space and lots of privacy for all. This location was close to absolutely everything you could want in this part of Ireland- walking distance to great eateries & grocery stores. Right on the ring of Kerry and the Killarney National Park. It was a great homebase for us during our 5 day stay.
A few things to note when renting an authentic & historic space that has been restored……the building itself is old and can be a bit damp. Also difficult to get heat to all levels evenly….top floor was a little chilly.
All in all would definitely recommend and stay again.

We pulled up to this amazing and magical place. Absolutely lovely property tucked off a main road. We were so close to everything and there were awesome touches like free sparkling and still water out of a tap. We picked apples off the tree before our day trips. The place is so charming.

This was our most comfortable accommodation during our Ireland trip and we wished we had stayed longer. Beds, bathrooms, linens were perfect and we had everything we needed. It had plenty of room for our group of 7, including children and adults, it was in a great location for the immediate area as well as day trips, and the host was very helpful. My children also appreciated borrowing the resident pups!

I rented this space for a 3 week adventure in Ireland and it was a wonderful experience. The home was the best combination of new (appliances, etc) and old (cool gardens, beautiful old Stine buildings). Very walkable to downtown and nearby the National Park.

Cool rustic property in country setting. 15-20 mins. walking distance to town and National Park trails. The 3 bedroom “Loft’ met all our needs, including washer/dryer, dishwasher, fireplace.
Minor points for improvement: The yard/grounds at back where the guest accommodations are, and the cupboards with lots of random dishes, could use lots of tidying up, and dishwasher and fireplace needed to be emptied upon our arrival.

Lots of character and space - very handy location (10-15 mins walk to town and short drive to amazing countryside) - very welcoming and hospitable hosts - all facilities exactly as we required

Pleasant stay at a lovely home
The home was clean and spacious. We loved the location as it was walkable to the town center but also closer to the park and near the river. The filtered water and sparkling water on tap were a nice touch. The host was very friendly and quick to respond to any questions throughout our stay. We would stay here again.

Incredible Property close to town
Incredible historic property. You really feel immersed in a different time. Tim has done a wonderful job with the loft. It is huge and nicely appointed with great kitchen and comfortable rooms. Would stay here again and refer to friends.

This place is just perfect for a family holiday. Lots of space for all the family and such a homely feel. Bernadette and Tim were so nice and always there if we needed anything and help arrange trips. Our children loved the greeting they got from Maizey and Teddy when we’d arrive home or in the morning. We cannot wait to visit again.

Cozy, Irish Setting Everything to Fulfill Your Dream of Visiting Ireland
The stonework, hardwood floors, doors and fixtures are beautiful. I like a clean place and this was super clean! The beds were comfortable, the duvet covers, sheets and pillows made you sleep like a baby! The kitchen is fully loaded, and the outside is magical ! The property owner is on site and always available, and very helpful and friendly. And his two doggies are warm and happy. The long driveway from the main road takes you to a hidden gem of a home. Plenty of on site parking and loads of restaurants close by.

Wonderful holiday in Killarney, IE
This stay was a beautiful, restful stay in the middle of a busy ten-day vacation overseas. I'd highly recommend the place. It's location was perfect to see all the sights we had planned in the southwestern part of Ireland.

Old World
Our 3 night stay could not have been better!!! Bernadette was a wonderful host and the dogs were always there to meet you after a long day of exploring. The accomadations are excellent and the WiFi is fast and steady for sending all your photos home to family and friends. Clean comfortable and the bonus of the filtered and sparkling water are just a few of the endless amenities. If we are ever in Killarney again we will stay again.

Absolutely beautiful rental, and great people!!
Four of us stayed in one of their cottages for five days and we absolutely loved everything about it. Spacious kitchen, spacious rooms, huge whirlpool tub. We did a lot of hiking and climbing in the area and it really felt like coming back home to comfort.
I also made a mistake in booking and our group stayed a day later than we were supposed to. Bernadette was completely understanding and flexible and everything was rectified the morning we left. I really appreciated their kindness.
The location was also great, just a mile outside of the downtown area of Killarney, but easily accessible to golf courses, hiking trails Muckross House and Ross Castle.
We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anybody staying in the Killarney area.

Wonderful Place to stay
This is a beautiful, clean and comfortable place to stay. It is the perfect location for exploring Co. Kerry and the surrounding region. Owners were friendly and ready to give advice on where to eat and get groceries. They also sent information ahead of time on places worth seeing during our visit.
The kids really enjoyed the four legged greeter each night we arrived back at the Loft. Teddy is the cutest and sweetest little dog :)

The perfect place to stay in Killarney!
We were in Killarney for an extended vacation and stayed at The Loft at The Priory cottages. The Loft felt like home immediately! It had everything we needed. The rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and had great down comforters.Loved the bathroom with the Jacuzzi tub and steam shower. The courtyard and entrance were beautiful with flowers beginning to bloom again when we left in January. Sparking water is on tap in the courtyard! We spent evenings in front of the wood burning stove or walked to town for music in the pubs. It is the perfect location as it is an easy walk to Muckross House and Abbey and also to Downtown and Ross Castle. A great home base if you are trying to capture a lot of the Wild Atlantic Way in the southwest and west of Ireland.
Tim and Bernadette were amazing hosts. Tim offered information on best sights to see in the area including the Skellig Ring and Mizen Head. He had detailed directions printed up on the most scenic routes. Both Time and Bernadette were very welcoming, always available for a question. And they make the best Irish Coffee !!
We are looking forward to going back , we hope someday soon.

The most comfortable and cozy place we have ever stayed in.
Even better than the pictures, we truly enjoyed our stay. The beds were very comfortable, all the rooms are spacious. The 2nd floor full bath has a wonderful jetted bathtub and separate seated shower stall with a rainfall shower head. The kitchen has all the utensils you need to cook meals. There is plenty of seating in the kitchen and living room for everyone. The washer and dryer work well and are very handy for light packers.
The location is convenient to downtown if you don't mind a little walk. Nice sidewalks make it safe.
Our favorite day trip was hiking through the Gap of Dunloe and taking the boat ride. The most beautiful scenery you can imagine! Tim and Bernadette were very welcoming and helpful. You can't go wrong here...

The best of our trip.
The Loft is in a great location, quiet and within a short walking distance to town. The apartment is well equipped for cooking. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere with a peat fire on a cool evening.we would definitely recommend.

This property is exceptional: authentic Irish, cozy yet lots of room!
We were four ladies visiting Ireland for the first time in September. We stayed here without a car and had a wonderful time! We walked to town and took taxis back. Tim and Bernadette were super about setting us up with a private driver (an instant BFF she was!) for Dingle and the Ring of Kerry. We had no complaints and loved our stay! I would love to come back...

Perfect home away from home!
We loved everything about this place! It's location is off the busy Muckross Road of Killarney, yet within walking distance of restaurants and pubs, including "Killarney" brewing company featuring excellent craft beers. The space is well appointed and we enjoyed a warming "turf" fire in the evenings after a busy day of sightseeing. From the Priory, we took in Dingle Peninsula, Ring of Kerry, Skellig Michael Island, Muckross House and Abbey, Gap of Dunloe, golf, fishing and pub hopping. Thank you, Bernadette and Tim, for all of your assistance in making our trip to Ireland most memorable!

Amazing place to stay
We stayed at the Loft at the Priory Feb 2017, and my brother-in-law stayed in the one bedroom on the property. The home and grounds are beautiful. In fact, it's even nicer than the pictures indicate. It had everything we needed, lovely linens, clean, comfortable and spacious. Our family of six (four kids ages 11,13,15, 16) were able to walk to town or the nearby park on their own. We were close to town, attractions and the south west of Ireland to do day trips. I wish we had stayed longer and would recommend to anyone!

Priory Stay in Killarney
We stayed with another couple at the Priory for 5 nights. The accommodations were very comfortable and relaxing. Even better, Tim's personal recommendations for places to go and to see around Killarney were especially welcome and beneficial - especially the Gap of Dunloe tour with pony and trap and then 14 mile boat excursion on the 2 lakes and 3 rivers of Killarney National Park. Tim's wife and daughter were also very helpful when I need to find a medical clinic to treat the bronchitis I had developed. A very warm and comfortable property and an even more welcome by Tim and his family!

We had the pleasure of staying at the loft while in the Killarney area this past September/October. Beautiful, clean,comfortable, full size kitchen with great coffee maker. The steam shower was sooooo nice after a long day of hiking. Only downside was the breaker kept blowing when we tried to use the dryer. This place was more than we expected in a VRBO. Within easy walking distance to lots of pubs and eateries.

beyond expectation!
This summer my family and I had the pleasure to stay for a number of days at the Loft,of the Priory. After camping for two and a half weeks, coming to the Priory was a real treat. What you can never read from the website is the calm atmosphere, the perfect state of the house and the garden, the feeling you are at home when you enter the driveway. Tim and Bernadette have created something exceptional. The first day we were astonished by the space, inside and around the house. In the kitchen you find everything you can think of, then there was the washing machine, the dryer , and the dishwasher, and no need to go looking for detergent. Then you find out that the bath is something like a jacuzzi, and the shower encompasses a steam bath. Then we discovered a drawer stacked with information about things to do, maps etc, and games.
Our days were filled with shopping, walking in the national park, horsebackriding, and playing golf at Killarney Pitch and Putt, all within 15 min driving distance. We often went out for dinner at one of the hotels on the lakefront, and ended every day in front of the fireplace at the Loft, with a good glass of wine. The loft is the holiday retreat we can really recommend, Even our dog was fully at peace amongst the housedogs.

Beyond Excellent!
For a week in July, my family and I stayed in the Loft, at the Priory in Killarney. It was more than we could imagine. The photos on line are good, but do not do it justice. This home was huge! We brought our two adult children with us and there was plenty of room to spread out. The house is only a short walk to town and very close to one end of the "Ring of Kerry" drive. Tim and Bernadette were gracious hosts; very attentive to any need we had, with lots of great suggestions. We took advantage of all that the southwest of Ireland has to offer and barely had to drive to do it.
My son and I golfed at a course that was very close to the Loft, and there are many more courses to be explored here. My wife and daughter explored ALL the shopping in Killarney and still didn't see everything.
When we come back to Ireland (and we will), we WILL stay here again. I recommend this property MOST HIGHLY. Quiet, Convenient, Beautiful, and more than a great price...and the dogs were really cute!

Our family is still talking about our awesome vacation to Killarney. We had a perfect stay here, and the accommodations are absolutely wonderful. The Priory is a perfect getaway from everything, and nature is at your fingertips. We enjoyed biking at Killarney national park, hiked through the Gap of Dunloe, saw the ring of Kerry, and took a day trip to Dingle peninsula. Our hosts graciously set up all the day trips we were interested in. They also went out of their way to make our stay the best. I can still taste the scones made for us while we were there. Our family would love to have the chance to vacation at The Priory again.
