Montana’s Yellowstone Bear Den is a small efficiency apartment with aspen walls, rustic/outdoor decor, a queen sized bed, full sized refrigerator, microwave, DIRECTV and WIFI. It is a perfect base camp for an individual or couple looking to spend a majority of their time exploring the majesty of Yellowstone National Park. The Bear Den is not big, but it is clean, comfortable and conveniently located just 4 blocks from the Roosevelt Arch, the original entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The grocery store, restaurants and shops are all less than a mile and within east walking distance. The Bear Den efficiency is comparable in size to a small hotel room, at a fraction of the price, but has the look, feel and furnishings of a cozy cabin. It is located beside our larger one bedroom vacation rental apartment, Montana's Yellowstone Hideaway (vrbo #353846). Both apartments are located below our home, but are completely isolated with separate entrances. The Bear Den features a comfortable queen sized bed, stocked kitchenette, and bathroom with a stand up shower. The kitchenette includes a full size refrigerator, microwave, hotplate, pots and pans, plates, bowls, utensils, glasses, blender, crock pot, and coffee maker. All bedroom and bathroom linens are provided. A propane grill is also available. If you have any questions about the Bear Den or your visit to Yellowstone please don’t hesitate to ask! I have lived and worked in Yellowstone for over 25 years and look forward to helping you experience the magic of Yellowstone that turned my 1995 vacation into a career and home for myself and two amazing daughters!!

This is a great location for quick access to Yellowstone! It took us less than 10 minutes to get into the park each morning. The Den is cozy....perfect for a couple of nights near the park!

This studio apartment is perfect for solo travelers or couples traveling to Yellowstone. It isn't huge, but if you spend your days in the park, all you need is a nice, clean, quiet place to lay your head at night. Why pay the price of the hotel rooms in the area?! Eric has a few extras included in the room like a pair of foldable camp chairs and a cooler-pack available, neither of which I would have thought to bring, but I was happy to make use of once I was there!

Enjoyed our stay very much! Loved being so close to Yellowstone entrance but still peaceful. Our host was very attentive and friendly. He works in Yellowstone and had good tips. The Bear Den was even furnished with a backpack and walking sticks. Nice price, too!

Quaint efficiency with everything you need! Easy access to the North entrance of Yellowstone! Had 2 deer in the yard across the street on our last night! That made my stay even better!

This was a great place. Super cute and cozy. Had everything we needed. Just a short walk or drive to Yellowstone entrance. Eric was super responsive and fun to talk to. We would happily stay again.

This was a very well kept and maintained accommodation. It's small as described but not so small as to no only accommodate myself, who is a larger person, but another person as well. The shower was not large, but again it was suitable for our needs. The owner greeted us and was attentive and helpful with any needs we had. If you're intent is to have a place to rest and clean up between adventures in the park or surrounding area then this is your place. Btw on our first morning waking up there stood an elk outside grazing.

We were there for the 'once in a century' flooding of Yellowstone and Gardiner MT. Julie was extremely efficient in helping us figure out what was happening and finding a way out of Gardiner. Terrible circumstances but we had a great trip and the accommodations were perfect. I highly recommend using Julie and her facility again!

I can see why the hosts don't show you the entire lay out and just show the very small studio and not the outside this place which is in the basement of their home NOT attached to the side of the home. It is very dark the only window to look out of is an enclosed " not sure what "but it looks like a dirty shower that you have to look at so don't open the blinds!! you cannot see outside from this one window the only other window in on the door which you have to look down a dark tunnel to see light no views here you have to go outside to see anything and that is the entrance. You can hear them upstairs periodically. they have tv trays but only one chair, so the other person has to sit on the bed which is too high and very uncomfortable. My husband could hardly get in the shower it's so small so if you are very tall or a larger person this won't work! This place is very misleading if we hadn't already paid, we would have found another! especially for what they charge is ridiculous. All places in Gardiner are close to the entrance of the park. with much better accommodations

Exactly as described! Julie was accommodating and the perfect host! The location to the entrance was an ideal distance! The refrigerator and coolers provided made packing food everyday super easy!
It was clean and the perfect amount of space!
If/when we visit Yellowstone again, we would for sure choose this property again! 🙂

This is a really small space, so much so I had to leave one bag in my car. The place is more of a walk-in closet than an efficiency apartment, certainly much smaller than the average motel room. But it was clean and tolerably well equipped, and check in (and out) was (were) easy. Oh, bring your own soap and shampoo.

This rental provided everything we needed during our trip to Yellowstone. Exactly as described. Quiet place to relax after long days of hiking and exploring. We would be happy to stay here again.

I'm so glad I kept searching for a place after Bear's Den was initially booked on our dates. Someone else's loss was my gain when they canceled.
This little place was perfect for my husband and me. It was clean and well supplied for a compact place.
Julie greeted us when we arrived and answered our questions to the best of her ability and did a special favor for me on the last day we were there as she was getting ready to leave.
What her listing doesn't tell you, but should, is that there is a luggage rack and an area to put large suitcases, a fan, a heater, a cooler, freezer packs, a laundry basket, beach towels, a closet with hangers, lots of towel bars in the bathroom, a coffee pot and filters, a gas BBQ grill, a little outside table and chairs, camping chairs to take with you into the park and more!
The area is super quiet and within walking distance to a lot of the town.

We decided on staying in Gardiner when we were planning our trip.
The Bear Den is about a minute to the North entrance of Yellowstone and the property was just as listed, but the best part of the property is the owners.
They were super responsive and answered all our questions in a very timely manner.
Everything was well worth it, we would definitely stay again.

Bear’s Den was just what we needed after long days exploring Yellowstone which the entrance is just a few blocks from the rental. It’s located in the small town of Gardiner that had lots of neat shopping and dining experiences as well as outdoor adventure opportunities! The owners were great with communicating and provided everything as described! You will not regret a stay in the Bear’s Den!

The cabin was compact but efficient. Very clean. Gardiner has very poor places to eat. If you like red meat, you will not be happy. Does have clean laundry on Main St. Showers available, if you are camping. $5 $ 2 for towel. So surprised that there wasn't a good place to eat. Someone could make a killing filling the void.

Very small studio room and shower. Personally would remove big chair and have another place to put luggage instead. Difficult to get into bed
from big chair/ottoman being in the way.
Surprised by how small the town is in light of being at main entrance to park. Best restaurant in town is Wonderland Cafe. Farm to table idea.

Clean, close to park entrance, close to stores and restaurants, full-sized 'frig. The shower is small and a little dark, but the landlord does say that this studio is small, but has everything you need. Landlord checked with us midweek to make sure that everything was ok, which was nice. Overall good experience.
