About Key Largo Key Largo, the northern-most island of the Florida Keys island chain, is only an hour's drive from South Florida's two major airports. Yet, it is a world away. As you look at the tropical hardwoods, the winding creeks, and the stunning coral formations, it is no wonder Hollywood chose to film scenes from the movies 'PT 109' and 'Key Largo' here. Key Largo is sandwiched between the watery wilderness of the Everglades National Park to the north and the fish-covered coral formations of North America's only living coral barrier reef to the east. It's not just Hollywood producers who are drawn to the wildlife here. Even Fantasy Fest revelers have been known to relax in Key Largo before, during, or after enjoying Key West's famously outlandish costume festival. You can also visit and take a tour on the “African Queen” boat from the movie starring Katharine Hepburn and Humphrey Bogart. Key largo is often called the Diving Capital of the World and is home to John Pennekamp State park http://pennekamppark.com The first undersea park in the United States. John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park encompasses approximately 70 nautical square miles. The island is nearly as famous it’s sport-fishing as the park. Some of the best charter captains and fishing guides in the world work out of Key Largo. You can go after sailfish offshore, bonefish along the Atlantic shallows, or redfish and tarpon in the Florida Bay. Key Largo's proximity to the Everglades makes it a premier destination for kayakers, birders, and other eco-tourists. All this beauty, not to mention the island's rich history, has inspired a vibrant community of artists who show their work at several local galleries. When the day is done, you can trade stories at any of a full range of restaurants, bars, hotels, motels, and resorts. Each is as unique as Key Largo itself. Your stay at the Rock Harbor club will create lifelong memories of your Fabulous Florida Keys Vacation. More Keys Destinations Other nearby travel destinations include Islamorada, Marathon, and the Lower Keys. Visit the Fla-Keys website for more information. Key West For a special experience travel the Overseas Highway to historic Key West, the Southernmost US city. There you will discover a city where real estate titles date back to the Kings of Spain. Stroll the palm-lined streets and discover gingerbread mansions, tin-roofed conch houses, the John Audubon House and Ernest Hemingway's home. Walk in the footsteps of Thomas Edison, Lou Gehrig, Harry Truman, and Tennessee Williams. Gaze at the fabled treasure of the galleon Atocha discovered by Mel Fisher. Discover tomorrow's fine art treasures by Key West's well-known and unknown artists. But only in Key West will the sun shine the brightest when it sets. Everyone gathers for the never planned, always varied Sunset Celebration on the Mallory Dock. Your Rock Harbor stay will create memories for a lifetime! We had a wonderful time at the condo. It was perfect in all respects.

Everything about the property was exactly as listed! Two bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths in a townhouse overlooking the Florida bay. Easy access to everything. The kitchen was well stocked, in unit washer and dryer was perfect, and the furniture and beds were comfortable. The grounds are immaculately kept, the pool is fabulous and the temperature is always perfect, and they have tennis courts and bocce ball nearby the unit. Dr Mike was excellent with communication and any issue we had, he resolved very quickly. We definitely would stay there again.

The property is a gem and we were lucky to find it. I have food allergies so we need a kitchen when we travel so we can cook at home and the unit is well equipped. There's a Publix (nice selection, expensive) and a Winn-Dixie (less choice, cheaper) nearby. We added a kettle and coffee grinder for ourselves and future guests, but there is a Mr. Coffee and a Keurig machine. If you want to do watersports you can go to the neighboring properties or the state park, or consider renting a kayak and having it delivered, as I saw this happening in the area. There's a pool, tennis, basketball and bacci courts. I played a few rounds of bacci with Luke, Frank and Eric, who were all very nice. The self check-in process worked well (our flight was delayed, so we had to test it) but the process to get sublet approval from the condo association was a bit of work, requiring references, signed documents and property damage insurance. With a 28 day minimum, though, this isn't unreasonable, and the caliber of your neighbors is quite good as a result. The cable and internet services are excellent. If the wifi password was on one of the documents I signed, I didn't see it, but I have a travel router that was easy enough to hookup so I didn't need to bother anyone about it. We had three rainy days during our stay, so we did watch a little TV. We cleaned the place ourselves, rather than use the service that was suggested. There was a new mop (which isn't quite so new anymore, as I'm fanatical) and I left a bottle of windex under one of the bathroom sinks. The washer/dryer are excellent quality and we replaced or used our own consumables (detergent, dryer sheets, paper products, garbage bags). We were careful to put the garbage and recycling where instructed. We'd visit again, no doubt, and would have considered extending our stay if that option had been open to us (we needed to get home and another guest was coming in after us). Key Largo is lovely and laid back, which was exactly what we were looking for, and Dr. Williams condo is a nice place to enjoy it.

First, I would stay here again and again. The property is well maintained, well appointed and well equipped. Mike communicated all aspects of what to do and expect upon arrival and during the stay. He was prompt and very helpful in all communications. The condo had everything we needed during our stay. The kitchen, although a little small, had all appliances and cookware necessary to make almost any meal. The furniture throughout the place was comfortable and clean. Linens and towels were all in excellent condition, including a new washer and dryer. The property is very well maintained and on par with a resort hotel. The maintainance staff was very friendly and courteous. Everyone we met was very friendly, from owners to renters who come here annually. The only item I can identify as needs improvement is the gate access with the virtual key system. The glare from the sun made reading the QR code on your phone challenging at times. Again, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will come back again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this condo in Key Largo. Dr. Mike answered all of our questions promptly in advance of our arrival. The condo was very clean, and the views were beautiful. The condo also had a functional kitchen with all kitchen accessories needed for an extended stay. The Rock Harbor Community has some very strict rules regarding noise, kid activity, etc. Thankfully, we are a quiet and clean family, we enjoyed the restrictions of "no splashing in the pool", "no eating on the pool deck...even on the provided tables on the pool deck", etc. But you should be aware that the noise and cleanliness ordinances are strictly enforced in this community. Personally, it's one of things that we appreciated about the Rock Harbor complex, but other families didn't quite feel the same way. Dr. Mike's unit itself was perfect for our stay, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Rock Harbor!

That's what we did in this beautiful and quiet apartment complex with direct access to the gulf of mexico. We rented this townhouse from Mr. Williams. It is beautifully furnished and has everything and more in it, whatever it is you might need. We missed nothing and enjoyed the bay view from the living room and the master bed room. We really enjoyed meeting some of the nice neighbors we met and the activities like paddle boarding and kayaking, they welcomed us to join them in. It was the "perfect vacation" for us and we really hope, that we can do it again! If everything goes well, we hope next year. Thanks for this great opportunity go to the Williams family!
