(VRBO only lets you write 1500 characters, so you'll just get the high (low) points.
You know it's not good when instead of sleeping peacefully in your VRBO the night before checkout, you find yourself awake at 3am thinking about the negative review you're going to write that will focus on ineffectual, nonlocal property management, ridiculous upcharges, and that the majority of the space didn't have heat or water that I would consider hot.
The TL;DR version: (1) The property management/AI ChatBot; didn’t bother to send anyone to fix the (2) nonfunctioning heat, (3) the listing has a low price but comes with high fees, (4) there is no beach at high tide, (5) no complimentary coffee, (6) 10am checkout (but don't worry, they’ll text you for an upcharge!).
The biggest issue of our stay was the Property Management company Vacasa (My rudimentary Spanish translates Vacasa to “Go Home”, which is advice I probably should have taken). A search of the internet for “Vacasa Reviews” leads me to sitejabber.com, which gives Vacasa 1.2 stars out of 5 for 1,191 reviews. Ouch! Their thread on Reddit is also terrible. Know this in advance, prospective visitor!
I notified Vacasa, through their AI ChatBot that the heat was out when I arrived. (It's winter in Washington) Leaving two days later, no human was able to send anyone to fix it.
With about 100 characters left, just avoid this place and find one that looks like it's run by a real person, not a Portland-based company.

Well maintained and clean. Great views of Puget Sound. Quiet and remote. It was perfect and we will be staying again!

Loved the house in a beautiful location with great views of the water!

This house is even better than it looks in the photos! We had an amazing time and even got a surprise snow storm. Sadly we had to leave a day early because the weather looked so bad for our planned departure day. We would love to come back here. The island is small enough to explore in a day, and Port Townsend is a super cool town nearby. But the house is so cozy that you might not want to leave at all!

We had a wonderful stay. The place was clean and had everything we needed to cook and bbq. We truly enjoyed our relaxing time here with the beautiful view (amazing sunrises) and walk on the beach.
Thank you.

We stayed here for the holidays and had a lovely stay. Even in the winter, the views were breathtaking and the house was super cozy. Two bedrooms—the master bed was more comfortable (the second bed was a little squeaky), two bath and a big, comfy living room.

Beautiful setting with excellent views of Puget Sound and Mount Rainer. Wide open field and complete privacy. The home was clean and tidy and in excellent repair. Exactly as described! We loved the fireplace and cozy living room. Kitchen was fully stocked. Everything we needed for a relaxing couple days. We hope to return!

The view! Home was clean and well appointed.

Spectacular views. Very clean! Felt like home. All the amenities. Will definitely stay here again. Close enough to restaurants and grocery store. Kitchen has all the appliances pots and pans that you need. I have stayed in homes that have had the basic condiments this one does not, so don't forget to bring what you need.

Lovely home in a gorgeous setting. Quiet and restful yet only a short drive to good restaurants, galleries and shops.

This house was beautiful. It was clean, comfortable and very nice. The view was amazing. It has kayaks that were a little difficult to get down to the water but once down there were fun. Bring water shoes as the shore is rocky. We saw dolphins one morning! Would highly recommend this place!!

We love the quiet. The deer in the yard was an added bonus. The beach access is great. Very beautiful property.

Fablous location with an amazing view, plus short walk to private beach. We loved using the kayaks provided, biking to nearby Flagler State Park, and dining on the deck with views of Puget Sound and Mt Rainer.

We booked 4 nights at this amazing place. VIEW, VIEW, VIEW! Thats what you are getting. We kayaked, sat outside and dined, we hiked and drove out to Port Angeles for the day for some bike riding and waterfall hikes. Drove out to Port Townsend for some live music by the bay (every Thursday). Its remote but close enough to various towns for shopping & dining.

Unbeatable views of Puget Sound. Lots of fun to watch all of the cruise ships and freighters pass by (use a ship tracking app to identify the ships). Extremely private property with no one visible between you and the water. Lots of birds, including barn swallows nesting under the eaves of the house that were fun to watch, and bald eagles. The kitchen was fairly well equipped, but many of the pots and pans were heavily used (and abused) by previous users. Overall not too bad, but could use some updating. Nice that kayaks and related equipment are provided, even though we didn't have a chance to use them. Only minor complaint is that the carpets in the bedrooms are rather stained and really need to be replaced. But we would definitely stay here again, for the amazing view and the peaceful setting.

We loved the windows looking over the water. I found everything I needed on the kitchen to make our meals. It was great to be able to use the kayaks.

The house was clean and well organized. It has a lovely view looking across the sound. The house is about a 3 to 5 minute walk to a cobble and sand beach with lots of drift wood. The stairs to the beach are a bit rickety and steep, but only about 6 stairs. The kitchen was pretty well stocked. The beds were comfortable. The house is surrounded by birds and so is a great place to birdwatch. One bathroom only had a tub and that did not work and although we tried for 3 days to get it fixed it never worked while we were there. Calls and emails etc seemed to just confuse the management team and they kept promising to send someone.
That meant we were all sharing one shower. The towels were made of some material that had no absorbency whatsoever.

This is so beautifully located. Full view of the sound/sea, deer in the meadow etc. We enjoyed our stay thoroughly. Many Thanks

The house was very clean and comfortable. My husband and I had a relaxing weekend.

The house is at the back of a large lot with great views of the sound. The space was perfect for two and would have been great for another couple especially if there were a comfortable chair or two for hanging out in the living room. The kitchen was well stocked and the house was very clean.

Fabulous! Much needed relaxation!

In addition to the amazing views, we enjoyed prowling the beach, especially at low tide--many sea creatures hidden in the tide pools along the way so every walk is an adventure. The house is comfortable, and the gas fireplace makes it warm and welcoming on the rainy days. Fun place!

This house has an incredible view. We saw two submarines coming through the channel and lots of birds. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace kept us cozy even though it snowed during our visit. This is a family friendly house.

The location and view are wonderful. Very quiet and no barking dogs from the neighbors. Can’t beat it. The home is furnished and kitchen supplied via goodwill but beds are comfortable. We could never get the gas fireplace to work even with instructions from the owner and it is the only heat source for the main living areas. Windows need a good cleaning. But we would go back for the location.

The view is wonderful. So bride & sunset were awesome. It would help to have instructions for the TV for longer stays.

We absolutely loved our stay. Everything was beautiful at the house. The only issue we had was checking in because they gave us the wrong code. Other than that it was perfect.

The view out over the sound is lovely and serene. While the weather was cold and stormy during our stay, we loved sitting by the fire and watching the eagles and other wildlife just outside our windows. The home itself is very nice and was clean as a whistle when we arrived. We did encounter a couple of small issues during our stay, but neither interrupted our enjoyment.

Lovely quiet weekend to decompress and relax from the past work week. Enjoyed our stay!

Really great property, nicer than most rentals, and a phenomenal water view. The big windows face SE and have shades, so it got warm but not too hot on a very hot weekend. We appreciated the unscented laundry detergent. Curtains in the bedrooms would have been nice to keep it dark in the morning. Vacasa had super helpful phone support when the door code wasn't working. Overall, I'd recommend it for short or long stays!

Lovely comfortable home. Feels remote with a lot of privacy and very quiet; but is actually very easy to access and close to many great attractions.

My husband, daughters (age6 & 9) and I stayed her for a weekend trip. The view from the home was the best I’ve seen! We could see Mount Rainier, watch the cruise ships pass and a submarine pass through the sound. We saw deer and birds from the back deck. It was very relaxing. We didn’t spend time at the beach or kayaked as we hoped. It’s a little ways to haul the kayaks with kiddos. The house was comfortable, clean and had almost everything we needed for our stay. We would absolutely stay here again!

The home was clean, comfortable and had a fully stocked kitchen for preparing meals. It is private and peaceful, but close to Port Townsend for restaurants and shopping. The view is stunning. Absolutely would return!!

The views are incredible from this home. We loved taking out the kayaks and hanging out on the beautiful deck! Very clean and spacious!

We like the location and the general quiet of this place, which makes it easy to hear the birds sing. A long walk to get the kayaks to the water (and back), but it is very nice to have a chance to get onto the water!

Have rented many properties over 20+ years in 3 states.
Excellent property, amenities, view, adventures & even comes with wildlife...deer, eagles, otters. Only problems were several burned out light bulbs in various areas & a bathroom sink so clogged it barely drained. Easily remedied.
