The Vagabond is a cozy property that has access to two coveted private Blanco River parks. The river is just a short drive downhill from the house. Unlike some parts of the river that are sometimes shallow, the water is deep enough to swim, float in a tube or fish. Located on one of the prettiest parts of the river and just a 12 minute drive down scenic River Road from Wimberley's town square. This delightful two bedroom, one bathroom cottage has been decorated in a homey yet vibrant style. The large open living, dining and kitchen area with vaulted ceilings is great for entertaining and whipping up a delicious meal. Charming wrap around porches provide several seating areas along with a porch swing to sip cocktails or iced tea and include the perfect spot for dining al fresco. The wooded surroundings and fire pit provide a semi private setting to relax, roast marshmallows and enjoy the local wildlife that pass through the property. While The Vagabond is a great place to unwind and enjoy the river it is also convenient to Wimberley and its unique shops, restaurants and entertainment venues. Whether you are attending a nearby wedding, local wineries or going to market days stay here to make the most of your Texas hill country experience. **The health and safety of our guests is paramount. Great place to unwind and relax, house has everything you would need . It's very apparent the owners care about property and your stay.Having private access to the river is wonderful .We will be back again when it cools off.

The place is actually more comfy than the picture showed. Spacious, clean and quiet. I like the taste of host-art work, fabrics colors, lamps and so on- all creat a relaxing feel. 15 mins walk/3 mins drive to the river which only available to local residents. Great privacy to enjoy the summer. We will come back again.

Nice clean house. We saw deer everyday. The owner left feed for the deer. The only issue I had with the rental was all the paperwork and agreements you had to send and resend because they said they never got.

The property was awesome. It is in a community but the feel is very “country living”. Didn’t have any issues with any neighbors at all. The property was beautiful and very well cleaned. It had everything we needed for the weekend. Best part was being able to have morning coffee on the porch and watch the deer. The property owners had a bag of corn for the deer that we put out in the morning and the deer come within feet of you. Brought back a lot of great childhood memories when I would feed deer with my grandpa. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone. The owner was great with communication, the town itself is awesome with all the shops, rivers, nature walks. Will be visiting again soon!!

The Blanco River is about as pristine as it gets, and what incredible access to the river that this house gives you. The river is a few blocks away, and it was a breeze to figure out how to access the house's access point that is gated (a few friendly neighbors were also there).
The house itself was fun - it felt like you were in the woods. The deer were great - tons of them came up to the house.
The house got the job done and was a great place to get to have the river access.
If you ever want to get out of Austin and enjoy the Blanco River, this is a great way to do it.

This property is very cute and was very clean. The neighborhood itself is very quiet which was nice and relaxing for our stay. Their were deer that came every morning and evening to be fed and that was enjoyable. The only thing we didn't love about the property was that it was incredibly close to others and from the pictures it did not look like that. The cabin did have everything we needed in the kitchen and bathroom. Overall, we loved it and would stay here again. Also, we enjoyed the semi private swimming area!

Last hooray with Nana before school starts back. Blanco river in this area is always refreshing with deep water access. The Vagabond, although not directly on river, was conveniently located and thoroughly stocked.

Baseball tournament getaway
We absolutely loved our home away from home during our son’s baseball tournament. It was a perfect quiet place to unwind between the hot games. The house was clean and cozy, the river access was our own little paradise. The deer in the neighborhood would walk right up to our patio with their babies! Such a beautiful place, we will definitely be back!!

Our fav spot!!
This is our favorite vacation spot and house. Back again and we stay here every chance we get. The deer got a whole bag of corn and extra munchies this time also. Always a wonderful time on the river and at the house chillIng and relaxing. My son said he’s only staying here and no where else. Thanks!

River fun
The house was cozy and clean! We loved the river, private area for neighborhood only.
The swimming was awesome and spots to also put your chair and relax. We also loved how close we were to the shops. We had to drive to all areas but still very close.

Perfect spot for Re-Energizing your life!
We loved the deer in the neighborhood, they would come right up to you and take fruit or vegetables right out of your hand! The house was clean the bed was comfortable and it was a peaceful quiet place to relax and unwind from the daily grind! The two river parks were wonderful especially the river road park, the water was clear and we just floated to nowhere!!!

Beautiful getaway
My husband and two sons and I had so much fun here! The house is nice had everything we needed. It was clean. Beds were comfortable. Porch was nice to sit out and relax and watch the deer. The water access points, you do need to drive to them but it is only a couple of minute drive and the water is so pretty. That is all my kids wanted to do, we didn’t really need to leave the neighborhood to do anything else. We really loved it here and would definitely come back!

The property was very nice and well kept. Plenty of towels, linens, and nicely stocked kitchen. We needed a short, quiet getaway and this was perfect. Yes, there are bugs, it's the Hill Country, that is expected, especially at night and outside. This just comes with the territory. The bathroom does get quite a few little flying bugs at night for some reason, but we figured out that leaving the lights on at night solves the problem. Easy, and close access to the river park. Drove over and parked at the edge. All in all, it's a great place!

It wasn't. There was construction type noise during the day and lots of people around on the streets. The river is not close by. The place did not seem very clean to me, there were big stains on the carpet, there were inspects inside the house, and we couldn't get the TV to work at all without having to type in our account information for streaming channels. The pillows on the bed were so flat that it was as though there was no pillow at all. It just wasn't comforable and I just expected more.

Winter getaway.
My sister and I decided to do a short winter getaway in hill country. Saw this cute place on arbnb and decided to give it a go. Boy am I glad we did! The house is simple and cute! Beds were VERY nice! Really enjoyed the outdoor porches. Sat out every morning and evening. Tons of deer also enjoyed the property. If you like wildlife this is awesome! We also had a cat come to visit one night, squirrels and humming birds! The light switches are a bit tricky to figure out even with them being labeled. Carpet is clean but stained and really needs to be replaced as does the living room furniture. It's not very comfortable. Everything you need for a kitchen is there including an ice maker in the refrigerator which really came in handy! The washer and dryer also a bonus, but would replace washer soon. River access was easy and just beautiful. ( the private area). The town is about 3 miles away and a real gem. Totally enjoyed exploring it and the surrounding area. I would definitely stay here again!

Everything from booking the property until we left was excellent! We arrived at the property after dark and the lights were on including a lit Christmas tree which I thought was a very nice touch and a bonus! We’re looking forward to renting this same property in the future! Thank you!

The house was the perfect pivot point for visiting with all our deep rooted friends in the Austin/ San Marcus/Wimberley areas. Beds & linens super nice! Deer are way too friendly! We had a fire in the evening. Great open floor plan. We will be back

Weekend getaway
Perfect getaway for a celebratory anniversary. Quiet neighborhood. Scenic. Severe thunderstorm on our first night stay and power went out but came back up in about 20 minutes. Impressive l, better than our own home in turn around time when there’s power outages.

Vagabond Cottage is Like Home
We celebrated our anniversary by staying at the Vagabond in Wimberley. We live in Austin so we have visited Wimberley many times but this time was the best. The home is spacious, comfortable, clean and equipped with everything you need for a wonderful stay. Beds are better than ours at home! The kitchen is equipped with everything a cook could hope for. It is quiet, peaceful and close to everything, including the Blanco River. We are telling all our friends about this gem.

We enjoyed staying at the Vagabond and being close to the river. The accommodations were great for my daughter and I and we both had a relaxing time. It is a very comfortable place and we loved seeing the deer as well.

Nice home in a good quiet neighborhood. Nice covered patio. Deer were abundant which we love. Saw a bobcat one night. The river is within walking distance and so refreshing. Good place to stay in Wimberley

The house has light colored carpet throughout, so we left our shoes in the entry because of all the rain this weekend, so not to make a big mess. We would definitely stay here again.
