I would recommend this vacation home if your looking for a quick enjoyable weekend. Located right in the beach. It could use some updated but we had a great time. The host was very convenient and helpful. Check in and out process was very simple. I would stay again.

We enjoyed our stay, it was clean and roomy! Weather was not on our side. The TV was a challenge not familiar with the service. No real issues with our stay.

Best thing about the property was the location to the Seawall , downtown, and best of all the beach!
Place is very cute! But the furniture in the family room is very uncomfortable
TVs to small poor WiFi

We enjoyed this house being right on the beach! The balcony facing the ocean was awesome!

Our stay was delightful. This home is idealy kid / family friendly. My nieces and nephew thoroughly enjoyed making new beach memories during our halloween themed weekend. Safe - Comfortable - and - Clean property! Very much accommodating!

This house is in a great location and was exactly what we were looking for. A few nails on the front deck need to be nailed down but it wasn't anything serious. Very short walk to the beach and full view of the ocean from the deck. Also, pretty close to anything you would need in Galveston.

The house was everything as advertised, clean, spacious, beautifully maintained and decorated. I am keeping “Hit the beach” in my Rolodex for future stays for sure!

Hit the Beach Cabin is a fantastic place if your looking for a place for a nice relaxing place for you and your family and friends.
It is located in the center of of beach front that cars are not allowed to travel up and down. Highly recommend this place a most stay.

The location was just perfect. We knew from the description it was an older home which was fine with our family. However, it really needs some help! This property needs some love! The kitchen is extremely cluttered and not as clean as it should be. Old unused food in pantry, dirty baking sheets, oven needs cleaning, etc. It needs someone to empty the kitchen and just start over with needed items - not a few coffee pots, tons of the same items causing clutter. There were plenty of beach toys which was great but it was just thrown in a closet and a mess! We did enjoy our family vacation. It is just a shame that this property has the potential to be one of the best around with a little help!

Major ant problem in kitchen and bathrooms. Most of the interior and exterior in disrepair. Raised nail head on deck and stairs

Great location and view. Everything we needed in the kitchen. I brought too much from home. Needs more paper towels and toilet paper but we made it work. Trash down stairs was overflowing when we arrived but inside was clean. Overall a great time and would stay again

Horribly dirty…. Mold in and around refrigerator- mold in the shower- dirt and old food under tables and couch- flooring coming up - tripping hazard- dirt in return air grill- slimy stuff in ice cube trays- tried to get cleaning lady but wasn’t available- spent 2 days talking to management company wasting my vacation time- I cleaned the house myself with cleaning supplies WE bought because there was none available at property- 3 coffee makers there but only 1 worked… it was just bad- just awful….. gorgeous spot on the beach so we were so disappointed in the house.

Fantastic location right on the beach and not far from Galveston. The kitchen is set up with plenty of tableware. The property is very worn. Several housekeeping issues were noted upon arrival, however the management response was quick. The 10 digit door combination was very frustrating and watch your knuckles when opening the door.

The view is amazing. Very easy access to beach. The chairs on the deck great! The beds nice.
However, the place was dirty. I have photos. The stairs coming up need work and were bending with each step. And the communication with Vacasa SUCKED!! At one point they told me to call (xxx)xxx-xxxx. That’s it. No numbers, just x’s. I will never rent another vrbo from them again.

Fantastic location - right on the beach, you get all of the ocean sounds and breezes! The space underneath the house is fantastic to hang out, and communication with the owner is seamless!

Close to the beach and shoet distance to town.

Our only hesitation was that our beach was a public beach. It was still very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Great location and view. Easy access to the beach. House sadly was not very clean. Floors were sandy. Had to rewash dishes we used. Wifi is very slow and remotes had no batteries. But the views were great.

As soon as we walked into the house there were several roaches and ants all over the kitchen counter. The AC kept shutting off and the fridge and freezer didn’t keep cool at all. The sink disposal was broke when we tried to use it as well. Good location though.

The house is very quaint gem
With great personality. It was just what the doctor- ordered quiet ocean, front view, drinking coffee, watching the sunrise in all of its brilliance. It was my first time being on the beach during the winter, but we made the best of it, and we even had a few days that we were actually able to put our feet in the water. We are looking forward to doing it again in the summer.

This is a somewhat older property with some signs of wear. But the view is wonderful and we especially enjoyed seeing the sunrise from the deck (used every day), and even the view from inside the house. There were a few little things that make this less than a 5-star rental. But location and price made it a good choice for us.

Location is the main benefit of this property. The house is in disrepair with several issues that could have been easily taken care of. Cleaning prior to arrival was minimal at beast (there were still coffee grounds in the coffee maker). Grill was unusable as it was broken. Direct beach access is the one redeeming aspect of the property.

We spent most of the time at the beach. It was very convenient.

All of us are over 60 and have medical issues. The stair climb was a challenge and a ramp would have been very nice. The view is spectacular. Right on the beach. The beach access is very close. We very much enjoyed this stay.

The Good:
plenty of beach and bath towels, lots of soap/shampoo’s in both bathrooms, lots of porch chairs, lots of boogie boards, sand toys, and beach chairs, location right on the beach, few people on the beach!
The Bad-
WiFi-my cell phone with 3G runs faster than their WiFi, if you use the WiFi and are watching TV, you will lose the tv signal, don't plan on more than one person using wifi.
Dirty floors-I can understand sand but black feet in a few minutes, would have been nice having a vacuum on hand to clean up any sand.
No TV remote batteries (6 TV's .?.) and satellite tv signal not working.
Thermostat was turning off the AC in the middle of each night automatically so we all woke up at 3am sweating
One toilet had a small leak into the bowl and would flush itself throughout the day/night. Other toilet’s tank about to fall off when flushing.
Smoke alarm in bedroom chirping until battery pulled.
Nailheads on deck sticking out so no bare feet.
When contacting Vacasa they apologize profusely but first time never passed it along to the “local team” until the second time I contacted them a couple days later. After talking to the "local team" they said they "already knew about some of the problems". (But rented it out anyways!?!)
Price seems high for all the problems we had but the location was great.

My annual birthday weekend in Galveston always sneaks up on me and beachfront properties are usually all gone by the time we think to reserve that late July date. We were surprised to find this location which is beachfront still available. We soon found out why which I felt like the reviews did not spell out well enough. Maybe because the comments are filtered.
While the location is pretty good with a beautiful view, a road divides the access which ends up becoming a very busy PUBLIC parking. In addition because the road ends and a Sandy road starts in front of this location, all the cars turn around right in front of this house all day long. For the price tag, the beach house had other issues dealing more with safety. The first night we were there, the lamp in middle of main room flickered every time we walked by it or open and closed the door. Eventually the entire middle section of electrical outlets stopped working completely lights and all. The paperwork provided informed guests to check the breaker box to see if anything tripped. They must be aware of issues since they had it listed. Problem is there was no indication of any tripped breakers and we were never able to get that part of the house to work again. Fortunately the tv was on the front part of house. But the mini tv in the front room had no controls and so that tv could not be turned off meaning the glare of the screen stayed on all night. The Main area was superficially clean but the air vents were disgusting and black, the grills were dirty and unusable, and the other front bedrooms bed was broken and slanted. And for some reason I’m sure due to electrical problems, the A/C would turn completely off. Once we noticed and were miserably hot coming back to the house, we would have to untrip it and wait for it to cool down again ever sooooooooo slowly. We truly think this place is a fire hazard. It’s a shame because it could be so much more! So unless you get a steal on this place, don’t rent. The rental group that manage this particular place does not care that you paid too dollar for a place that clearly has some significant issues. They’d rather wait till you leave and just get more money from the next sucker. Galveston would be better off without this one.

The houses location was wonderful for our family. Everyday was beach day for us. And we loved that it was about 10 minutes from the main area in Galveston. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our vacation this year.

Loved the location! The view was very nice. We sat on the patio each morning listening to the waves and drinking our coffee.

To Whom It May Concern:
The beach house is in a lovely location and our family was so excited to have the opportunity to stay here. We definitely would love to revisit.
Our recent stay did have some issues that effected the quality of our families' experience. Below are some of the issues we experienced that I would appreciate a superviser to contact me to discuss.
When we arrived at the house the emailed codes did not allow access after we called the support line twice and an hour later we were able to get into the home and honestly it is quite distressing that the key box code should have been incorrect in case of this situation or an emergency and it also had a broken latch which made getting the key out almost impossible once we had the correct code.
The first night which was the coldest the heater did not work in the interior of the house was down to 54 degrees with 5 children and thin blankets and everyone slept miserably. The next days plans were organized around the needed plans to fix the heater. Once again two more calls two- maintenance techs later and a couple trips back and forth to the house until we did finally have heat.
As a aside, the light and fan in the front room has an electrical short that went out as soon as we turned it on, so we had no main light or fan if needed and the light switch in the front left bedroom behind the end table is a hazard, one of our children got an electrical shock when plugging in a cell phone, appears there is some corrosion issues.
Our family were looking forward to this for some time and unfortantly it came will some unexpected stress. Hopefully, we can receive some type of compensation for the amount of time this took out of our family vacation.
Thank you for you time and attention,
