My wife and I had a great stay at the Beachstone Cottage. Stayed four nights and every day marveled at the view from the house. Nicely situated to enjoy several nearby areas. Provided useful instructions for the home. Although we stayed at the end of July and early August, place was very comfortably cool without use of air conditioning. We had no issues with use of well water. Would not hesitate to recommend this place to others or stay there again.

We are a family of 5 with 3 young children. House was clean and very confortable, even more spacious than needed. Perfect location for day trips to beaches, Peggys Cove, Lunenburg, Halifax etc. Would stay again!

We were 3 couples traveling together for an event at the St. Margaret's Bay Sailing Club and this property was perfect for our needs. The lawn and garden is meticulously maintained and sets the stage for a relaxing long weekend getaway at a nice cottage in Nova Scotia. As always, the kitchen was a gathering spot and there was plenty of room for all six adults to gather, chat and eat. The kitchen contained all the necessary items and has a great view of the water to enjoy fog over the water in the morning and fantastic sunsets in the evening. The property has a great location about 10 minutes from Peggy's Cover and other points on the southern shore of Novia Scotia where there are fantastic views of the water and great sunsets. Everyone in our party had great things to say about this property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The patio was great and came with a gas grill. We were 5 minutes from Peggy’s Cove. The accommodations were great and look forward to visiting again!!!

From start to finish this was an incredible stay. We spent 2 weeks and we wanted for nothing. The house was immaculate and the property was a delight. We spent every day enjoying the ocean breezes, and even when it occasionally rained we were treated to fantastic views across the bay. Ken was an exceptional host and ensured we had everything we needed, and went out of his way to provide a fantastic stay. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an ocean get away with close proximity to excellent dining, world-class sight seeing destinations, and easy access to Halifax. It is the best of all worlds.

We loved our stay at Beachstone Cottage. The sunsets are amazing, the cove so peaceful. Cottage is large, the views from the upstairs bedroom awesome. Location is very convenient.

The location is idea because you are 15 mins away from picturesque Peggy's Cove (great lobster rolls) and only 45 mins away from Halifax and 1 hr away from Lunenburg (whale watching). The kitchen has modern appliances and is very well-stocked with dishes, glasses, cutlery etc., and there are plenty of linens for bedrooms and washrooms. The backyard is a great place to barbecue, relax and enjoy a summer day. The view and location are beautiful and peaceful. This property is close to many great sites such as Peggy’s Cove. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days there and would definitely book a longer stay at this property In the near future.

Thanks for a great stay! The property was exactly what we expected...not fancy but met our needs and all was as we expected from the description/reviews we'd read before booking! It was our home-base for many day trips and bike rides - and back again for family dinners! Our only "complaint" is about the 10am check-out time - we ended up being in such a hurry to make that we forgot our groceries/supplies that we'd planned to bring with us to PEI! Even so, this is pretty standard so we should have planned accordingly. Just harder when two families trying to get out at once and having to share limited water. Joan was also a delight! Thanks again!

Some family and friends stayed in this spacious and comfortable home during my wedding this summer. The location is a perfect proximity to Halifax, Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg and other wonderful Nova Scotia destinations. The living space is comfortable for sharing with a family or group of friends. We truly enjoyed our stay.

The oceanfront home was lovely and the views of Hacket's Cove were breathtaking! The furnishings were comfortable and the kitchen was very well appointed. It felt very much like home! Just a short drive to everything that Halifax has to offer. Within minutes to Peggy's Cove, fresh seafood, and sightseeing boat tours of puffins and seals. I wish our entire 10 days would have been from this property. PEI and NB were beautiful, but this location was the epitome of the maritime experience. I hope to return again. We decided to take a trip to the Halifax area and thus looked for places to stay. Not realizing that the 150 year anniversary of Canada was ongoing, the selections were limited. We prefer two bathrooms thus it made it a little more difficult. We booked the location and found the owner to be responsive in returning messages. Please do not misread this review- the place was functional and worked out but these will hopefully help the owner and those who stay as to what to bring or do. The home itself is located near Hackett’s Cove which is about 40 minutes from Halifax (with 20 minutes being the drive up to the highway). It is a nice drive and not difficult. It appears as if the home has undergone the attempt to modernize it although there is much to do specifically the kitchen. The kitchen is functional but very outdated and boxy with the fridge on the other side of the oven. Due to character limitations, my review must be shortened to points below (sorry) Issues/annoyances- no dishwasher, no Teflon pots & limited size pans, no spices only huge abundance of salt and pepper shakers, no glass bowls for salads/sauces, cereal bowls are poor & flat, old appliances (microwave, toaster, oven), poor audio/video setup (no instructions or channel guide, very old equipment circa 80's), recycling is not explained well as to when garbage day is, no dock sadly, furniture was old and dated but functional. The bathrooms were fine. Upstairs had a Jacuzzi tub which was out of place in the home. Since you are on well water, you are unsure if you can fill it up and still have water for others. We managed to make it work. The light switches were strangely configured. Some outside the door, some inside. The lights were recessed which is modern but gave poor lighting. Again, functional but that is all. Weber BBQ was a cheap one & was not used much so it was hard to clean. We used it only once. The yard had two abandoned cars full of rotting wood way in the back. Was unclear as to why these are on the property. There are two stores 20 minutes away. Only one is mentioned in the initial instructions. Both were fine. Gas stations are around as well as a TD Bank for an ATM. There are two restaurants we ate at- Rhubarb’s and the Finer Diner. Rhubarb’s was very nice where the Finer Diner was a diner- nice enough (good and funny server) but average food. The suggestions inside this review are personal and not meant to be negative but constructive. Enjoy.

We loved the peaceful surroundings, looking out to the sea across the road. Location is ideal for exploring the South Shore, Peggy's Cove, and Lunenburg.However the house itself needs updating: some of the of the lights and plugs did not work, and most importantly, there was no information on how to use any appliances, the TV, gas fireplace, barbeque etc. the shelves for the pots and pans are about 7 feet tall and require a step stool to reach. The key to the sliding door - the main entry - is difficult. We do not mind inconveniences usually, but for the price, we expect a better organized and equipped place.

Beach stone cottage is just lovely! We had a perfect view of St Margaret's Bay from the living room. Hackett's Cove is just minutes away from Peggy's Cove, an amazing village. We used Beachstone as a starting point for daily excursions and it is in a perfect location for that kind of travel. The only downside was that we could not listen to any of the host's extensive CD collection because there were five remote control devices for the television, DVD player and the music system. We did not find any guidance on which remote did what. So, we sat and read which was also very nice.

We had such a great time at this cozy property! The house is very comfortable: great beds, stocked linens, and beautiful yard. It is remarkably close to so many beautiful places, and a large amount of restaurants in a short drive. Would definitely return. We even got to witness one of those beautiful pink sunsets in the photos!

The Oceanfront Cottage near Peggy"s Cove was a wonderful sanctuary for our family. The amenities were all we had hoped for and more. The Ocean view was a treasure, and the location allowed us to visit many Maritime tourist attractions. We also enjoyed the large collection of classical music available with surround sound! Clean quiet and fullY supplied kitchen. Bring own spices for cooking as has salt and pepper. Great newer main floor laundry . Only thing to buy own grocery and misquito repellant. Close to stores restaurant and 5 min to Peggys cove. Only minor wish list does not have own Wharf. Roomy can have two separate families for privacy. Both floor has satellite cable and WiFi. Tons of books and music collection. Great time thanks Ken.
