Private & Secluded; Sweeping Views Over Valley
About this house rental
This unique and charming country house is surrounded by rolling farmland but is only 8 miles from downtown Saratoga Springs. A long wooded driveway gives the house privacy and seclusion; it is not visible from the road. The back deck has sweeping views of farmland, while the front deck overlooks the valley. The house is situated on five acres of a former apple orchard, and many fruit-bearing trees continue to thrive on the property. This is the perfect year-round getaway. For families interested in beginner mountains for skiing or snowboarding there is Willard Mountain in Easton (you can see the back of the mountain from the house) or West Mountain near Glens Falls, both about 30 minutes away. For more advanced skiers/boarders there is Gore Mountain, about 50 minutes away. The house is a classic post and beam structure with an open floor plan, ideal for entertaining. A two-story cathedral ceiling opens over the kitchen and dining space. The decor is Adirondack, with numerous antiques throughout. Nearby Saratoga Springs offers horse racing, museums, shopping, restaurants, a farmers' market, and countless other attractions. Local farms offer opportunities to pick your own apples, blueberries, and other produce when in season. A fully outfitted kayak shop operates seasonally on Fish Creek, just 3 miles up the road. What a great house! Old world famhouse, on a lovely quiet property. The home owner was wonderful to communicate with, he answered all questions and gave perfect directions to the property, making it very easy for us to get there.
The house had everything you'd need to cook a meal and relax with friends and family. The bedrooms were all very spacious, and beds were comfortable. The bathrooms were great, and the available washer and dryer were helpful too! The deck was very nice, and such a pretty view of the back of the property. The parking area is plentiful, and the kitchen and living room also had lits of space to relax in.
We were a 10 minute ride to the horse show grounds, making it very easy to get to and from early in the morning, and later on in the evenings to do night check on our horses. We were close by to dining options, gas stations and the lake. This property is in a perfect location to explore the Saratoga area! We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Had a great weekend with my family! Christopher was very timely with his responses. The property was beautiful. The house was clean and we couldn’t have asked for a better location to explore the area !

The property was perfect for our NY Revolutionary War trip. We had a wonderful tour of the Sarasota Battlefield en route to Ticonderoga. The property was very close to the battlefield, and within 20 minutes of the NY Thruway. The house slept 6 of us comfortably, with 5 beds plus one bunk bed. There was a big outdoor deck overlooking a large grass field with apple trees near the house. Very private, as you could not see the house from the road. The house had every amenity we needed. Many thanks to Chris for contributing to a great trip for my party!

Secluded post and beam home. Recently attended a family wedding in the area and had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful location. The house was very clean, the beds very comfortable, The kitchen well stocked with essentials and the WiFi was great! My granddaughters loved running in the pasture and apple orchard surrounding the home. Christopher, the host was very gracious and communicated quickly with any questions we had. Hope to return someday to this beautiful house.

Quite, beautiful view, close to Saratoga Springs, shopping, restaurants and movies.
The kids loved the country setting and being close to the city for fun and entertainment. Loved the outdoor shower and patio area for meals and entertaining. The landlord Christopher is one of the nicest guys we've met. The house is comfortable and clean. Has just the right amount of ambiance. Would stay here again for sure.

The house is beautifully set in rolling hills and an old apple orchard. Our kids all had a great time exploring and we adults enjoyed coffee on the porch, fires in the firepit and the view was spectaular.
The house is an open space rustic older house, cozy and honey feel, a bit old an un updated but that didnt take away anything from our three night stay. wed come again for sure. The host is friendly and quickly responds, the house cleaned and smelled nice when we arrived. im a pretty picky person and have been known to run around cleaning and washing bed linens before sleeping and living in a rented space, but I felt comfortable here. the best of everything was the outdoor shower which every single member of our family used several times.

Perfect Magical Stay with Mountainviews
Christopher’s place is simply amazing and perfect!
We have stayed at many holiday rentals, and this one was possibly the best for our family of seven.
The place is very spacious, with five comfy bedrooms, two full baths, and lots of gorgeous common space; windows with views and skylights.
The level of cleanliness was unbelievable!
The attention to details, both for convenience and for esthetics, was striking: pretty decor, tasteful furniture, a lit-up Christmas tree.
The kitchen was fully stacked for all cooking needs, and we appreciated arriving to a house with plenty of towels, toilette paper and paper towels, trash bags, dish soap, etc.
Additionally, we liked the book and game collection.
Our children loved the loft-bed and enjoyed sledding in the snowy hills of the property, and then soaking in the hot tub.
We loved being in a quiet and tranquil place, yet so close to Saratoga Springs!
Thank you, Christopher!

Such a beautiful setting and perfect space for my kids to play football between watching football!
Saratoga Springs is such a beautiful spot. Although Covid caused a lot of closures we were still able to enjoy the wonderful battleground park, hike by the Hudson River and dine at the wonder The Local as well as Saratoga Eatery. All wonderful and so easy to get to/from from our house. Could not have been better!

My ground of friends and I came up here from Long Island, NY for a long weekend and had a great time. We enjoyed the layout of the house and all the amenities provided. Had a nice cold night where we were able to use the fire pit on the property (which we didn't realize was there from the listing). Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, with the minor exception of Tupperware. Water pressure wasn't terrific but there was a giant tub in the upstairs bathroom that was a nice change of pace. We were also only about a 15 minute drive from downtown Saratoga Springs. All in all we had an awesome time and would love to stay there again if we're visiting the area.

All around great experience
Our stay at the Saratoga Country house was wonderful. Christopher was an amazing host. Our whole family got sick just days before our scheduled arrival and he still managed to rearrange our reservation dates and accommodate us.
The house was close to Saratoga Springs shopping and restaurants as well as several ski resorts. We even managed to do some tubing right out on the property with our kids who had a blast as well. Very rustic and cozy with wood burning stove and extensive book collection as well as dvds, puzzles, etc. Best of all, as close as it was to entertainment and recreation it was still very private, remote and peaceful. Everyone including the dog enjoyed their stay!

Loved this as a two-family getaway spot for the holidays! Lots of land but near numerous restaurants and things to do. The owner was very communicative from beginning to end!

A Beautiful View
Our family enjoyed our stay. Walking the property and seeing the mountains was great. The house is comfortable and has Lenny of room.
Overall the house could have been cleaner; more kitchen towels needed (note: dishes, etc. we’re excellent); DVD player not hooked to system; and shower heads did not work well.
I don’t want to sound too negative as our family had a great Thanksgiving together.

Goddesses Getaway
Five college friends needed a place to gather for the weekend & celebrate our 38 yr friendship. Saratoga Country House was the perfect eclectic place!
It's set way back in the woods & quite lovely. I'm sure in a couple of weeks the leaf colors will be fantastic.
It's such a cool home with timber frame construction. Just gorgeous!
Kitchen had the basics. Most beds, especially the king, were very comfortable, though the one single was a bit creaky. As mentioned in other reviews, water pressure in the showers was weak at times, but we made it work.
The living area was perfect for hanging out & reminiscing. Such interesting decor & art.
Saratoga Springs was a short ride & we were able to go there & Lake George in one day, though we wished we had two.
The nearby Harvest & Hearth had the best wood-fired thin crust pizza.
Thank you Christopher for sharing your home!

Wow-weee!
This was the perfect property for our small group of six adults. We had everything we needed and enjoyed our down time here after the Traver's Stakes and Saratoga Springs. Easy Uber to town and back. The field behind the house is mesmerizing and the outdoor shower was a big hit with all of us. It's a lovely , rustic retreat; the stars at night are unbelievable. No road noise at all, very private. 1/2 hr to Lake George for day trip.
Deck gardens could use a weeding, but the deck was the highlight of the weekend, the photograph views are what you can expect; farm fields and distant peaks. Lovely nature setting. The gas grill works well and was clean with full tank.
Couldn't get the light over the drive to work, so watch your step when coming home after dark. All appliances work well- no problems. Decor is eclectic and warmly interesting. Overall, very welcoming. with an open floor plan on first floor, again good for groups and families.
We just loved it !!! Thanks Chris.

Could be better
Lovely location and property. Close ride to track and spac. We were there for Dave Matthews. It was also opening weekend at race track, and the location was convenient to town. This house however was not all that clean when we checked in. There were millipedes and ants all over inside. The mattresses in some of the bedrooms are terrible. Outdoor shower is nice. Overall water pressure is not good. Needs work.

Great for groups
We were a large group and really enjoyed our stay. Christopher is responsive and helpful and we had no issues. Kitchen is well stocked with equipment... clearly a professional must have done this! Loads of towels, ample bathrooms and great scenery to wake up to. To note, this is a beautiful old house with wood floors, so be mindful that you'll hear people moving around the house. Take it in stride and just make sure those early risers make the coffee!

Wonderful Retreat
Had a great time visiting the Saratoga area for a wedding. The accommodations were exactly what we needed for some extended family who were in from Florida and Alaska. Beautiful views highlighted the rustic experience. The house was well suited for the four adults, 5 older children and, of course, lots of room for the dog to run. Thank you, Chris.

Awesome House
We stayed at this house for a concert at SPAC. The house was just the right size for our group, and the outdoor area was perfect for hanging out on the deck and drinking a few beers. Will definitely stay here the next time we are up in the area!

Rustic but clean and well appointed house
We had a great three night stay. House was as advertised, which I love. Owner was very responsive and communicative. Beds and linens were comfortable and there was plenty of room for 7 of us to spread out. Short ride to get to track or downtown.
As many other reviews state, water pressure in the indoor showers is not great, with the best option being outside. However, living with a well and water pressure issues myself, this wasn’t a big deal.
Best part was sitting on back deck enjoying the view and nature. Thanks, Chris!

Great place, close enough to town but far enough for privacy
We had a group of college friends who got together for a Travers weekend reunion. The place was great, private and an easy uber into downtown Saratoga and the track. Loved the outdoor shower. Thanks
