Located in Lake of Egypt, this attractive house for $647 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. ***DOCK WITH COVERED BOAT SLIP, SUNDECK, BEACH, PEDAL BOAT, & FIRE PIT!*** Home has been remodeled with new flooring, kitchens, granite countertop. Check out our newly designed shoreline, firepit, and huge sandy private beach! Come explore what Southern Illinois has to offer for your next family vacation! Our Lakeside Retreat is located on the beautiful Lake of Egypt, popular for fishing, boating, and water sports. This tranquil waterfront home is situated on a private road and features vaulted ceilings, 3 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, a stone wood burning fireplace, and a large deck overlooking the lake. There is also a separate full walkout Basement Studio Apartment with 2 double beds, Living Room, full Kitchen, and full Bath plus Patio with beautiful lake views as well! Room enough for at least 2 families comfortably! The house has lake views in the front and back, and is situated off the ski area in a no wake zone with deep water off the dock. The dock is a covered one boat slip with huge 12'x28' sundeck to enjoy all the lake has to offer as well as the picturesque sunsets! There is a 4 person pedal boat for your use during your stay. There is also a private sand beach and a built in fire pit on shore for evening campfire activities! The open floor plan of the main living area is ideal for entertaining. The large kitchen has loads of cabinets that wrap around the entire kitchen and includes a built in kitchenette area with seating. Full dining room with seating for 8 and living room with leather couches and stone fireplace. The Master Bedroom with queen size bed is complete with Master Bath with a roman tub and double sink and walk-in closet. The upper level consists of 3 bedrooms (all Queen beds) and 2 full baths. In addition to the spacious main floor, there is a fully finished Basement with separate entrance accessed from the outside. The lower level living area is set up as a studio apartment and includes a bathroom with shower, kitchen, dinette area, living room area with couches and TV, and a bedroom area with two double beds. New cooling memory foam mattresses placed in basement Aug. 2021. The walk out patio with sliding glass doors and picture window offer beautiful views of the lake. All bed linens are provided and a washer/dryer are on premises. Guests are asked to bring towels. There is also a small book library and a selection of games, toys for your use during your stay. A portable crib/ playpen and queen air bed is available. Pets may be allowed per owner approval at an additional fee and deposit, however, the yard isn't fenced, and dogs must be on leashes. Dog leads are also available. If traveling with a boat, you may launch it at any one of the marinas, which are only 5 minutes away. Boats may also be rented at the marinas. The view and access to the Lake was amazing! The house was clean and simple, just enough to stay in and enjoy the Lake for the weekend. Host was friendly during this time. Neighborhood quiet. We enjoyed the visit.

My husband is on oxygen 24/7 and this location was perfect, he could sit on the deck and watch everyone fish and swim . Beautiful weather too. Really enjoyed ourselves

This is a nice house in good spot on the lake. Great set up for multiple families. It is tucked away in a neat neighborhood. We used this as a base for outdoor activities, and ended up hanging out at the house more than we planned, it was so comfortable and relaxing. Would like to come back to enjoy the lake more. The host was super responsive to questions we had., and had good local advice on things to do. The bait shop just outside the neighborhood is a must stop.

The house was basically a double wide trailer set on a block foundation. It was just ok, nothing fabulous. The renovations were just ok, need to renovate the bedrooms badly.
Seriously need to clean the outside. It was covered in cobwebs and spiders The dock was nice.

Went thru VRBO. Pictures of property misleading. Outside of house was filthy dirty with caked on bugs and cobwebs all over the siding, lights and windows. Looks like it had not been cleaned/power washed in years. Front yard is basically dirt and tree branches. Front porch old and full of dirt and bugs. Front porch light caked with webs and bugs. Couldnāt walk in either front or back doors without spiders and cobwebs right in your face. Layout of inside is totally weird. When entering front door you go straight into master bathroom. Make a right and there is a laundry room with no door that goes directly into kitchen. When air conditioning is on the unit is right there so itās noisy. So called ārenovationsā to the home looked like they had been done by a person who didnāt know what they were doing. Large holes where curtains were once hung were visible all over. Flooring in hallway between the 2 bedrooms had open cracks and bathtub shower head is ready to fall off. Bedroom shades provide no darkness so when the sun rises itās bright as bright can be. No sleeping inā¦..NO Access to downstairs level unless you walk outside and open door underneath the deck. There are no stairs on main level to get to lower level. Only way again is to walk outside. We found that annoying. Beach area is not a beach area. Somebody came in and dumped a bunch of sand on large piece of weed barrier. We saw a few cats roaming around and Iām sure they use the ābeachā as a nice litter box. Junky old toys are stacked underneath the back deck. An eye sore for sure. All in all we would never rent this property again. You can tell the owners are never there. Totally overpriced for the condition that it is in.

This place was perfect for our girl getaway! The house is adorable, clean and convenient! Our favorite part was the little beach! Is was awesome to be able to walk in and out and it was just fun! The fire pit area was also a treat! (Even though it was way too hot for a fire :) Perfect vibe!

Excellent communication from owner. The home was very clean and had everything you would need. Very comfortable and homey. Home sits right on the lake with a sand beach area for kids to play. There is also a paddle boat to use. The outdoor fire pit is also nice. We had a great time

The house is very accommodating for large families. It was very clean and the owners paid attention to detail, making it a warm and inviting place to enjoy being with family and at the same time enjoy the lake. We would choose this place again!!

We had a great stay. Loved the area/neighborhood & house! Owner of the property was very responsive & helpful! I probably missed it in the description - but I thought this was like one, combined space, but the house has an upstairs & down stairs that are not connected internally - so it really is a perfect spot for traveling with 2 families. I was only traveling with my one family - 4 people from my family & one friend- and we were able to fit/stay in the upstairs part comfortably. However, jf two families wanted to vacation together - it's kind of perfect how the upstairs & downstairs are not connected internally via stairs - and have totally different points of entry & privacy. My parents had a little trouble with the mattress, as did my friend - but my husband & I slept like babies. We all had a great time & would recommend this property to anyone & everyone. My only suggestion to the owner might be investing in slightly better mattresses for those who are older or sensitive sleepers.... Great vacation in a little hidden gem of an area... Not much food or shopping very close - but great character & food in the places that are nearby! So beautiful - many hiking trails & cool things to see nearby as well! Definitely a fantastic place to stay in S. Illinois!

We were looking for a waterfront rental for myself, husband and our two adult childrenās families (three children under 4) for a long weekend. This house had plenty of room for us, but the things we liked the most were the outdoor amenities. Covered dock for our boat, large dock area to hang out and swim, sand area to play and gentle slope for the little ones. Our first time at Lake of Egypt and loved it. Hosts very easy to work with and answered questions.

This place worked well for us. The part of our family with young kids appreciated the separate space downstairs. When they had to get up during the night, they didn't need to feel about the noise.
The boat dock was perfect for our pontoon, and we could swim and fish with the little ones off of the dock. We also caught some nice bass in the areas just across the inlet.
Wonderful sunset views and we even had a rainbow one evening!

We had an awesome stay at this location. The weather was hot and the lake water was very enjoyable. The house was nice and the owners were very quick and easy to get ahold of when we needed them. We did however, feel that the outside of the house and property could of used a little TLC, but we were told before arriving that they had been going thru some renovations, so we totally understand. Would recommend to anyone looking for a house on the lake. We would definitely return. Thanks Cynthia

We absolutely loved the location on the lake!! The house had everything we needed (knowing we needed to bring towels, paper items which wasnāt abnormal). We liked the separate downstairs for those of us that wanted to stay up later! The extra fridge and oven are a MUST! Thank you!!!

Central location to meet for family from Tennessee to Wisconsin. The location on the lake was great. Rented a pontoon from nearby and could take family members off and on from our dock as they wished. Appreciated being able to have our daughters dog. Owner texted back small questions we had very promptly. Hope to come again

Our family of 10 had a great time at your house Cynthia. It had something for every age to enjoy and the layout of the house was good. The location very near a point on the lake was nice to enjoy the views of the lake. The small sandy beach was a hit for the little ones and the covered dock was good to put our boat in the day it rained. Just a couple little things could be improved - we could not find a flat frying pan to cook on; they were all domed down and the kitchen and shower faucets are loose. We would definitely come back.

Our family stayed for 3 nights and the place was perfect! Plenty of room and very clean. The view of the lake is magnificent and the dock was perfect for using our boat. There is a launch right down the road from the place and we actually caught fish right from the dock at the house. The rooms are spacious and decorated very nice and there is everything you need to enjoy your stay. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who enjoys being right on the lake and a peaceful place. Will definitely be back again!!!!
