If there were a way to give this 6 stars I would. Greg was an incredible host and the property was perfect for our large group. The house was clean, comfortable and provided everything we needed. The yard was perfect for the grand kids to run around. We stumbled on Lamberts Cove beach which was close to the house and just right for the whole family.

We had a fantastic time during our week on the island. This house is the perfect house and a great location. It is a quieter part of the island which is really nice, but a short drive to anywhere you want to go. Walk to the end of the street to Alley's General store and 7a foods was very nice for morning coffee and treats. The house has plenty of room. This finished basement is a bonus area for the kids to hang out and watch TV. The separate studio building provides a separate sleeping space or just a place to get away from the group and read and relax. The yard is awesome...plenty of room for yard games and hanging out and cooking on the grill. But, what really sets this rental apart was that it came with a key to Quansoo Beach. Quansoo is a private beach that requires a key for access. It is a gorgeous beach and it is so nice to be there without the crowds of the public beaches. Greg was a fantastic host and gave us fishing tips and even came by with a key to a famous fishing beach in Aquinnah- Dogfish Bar Beach.
We travel to MV every summer and this was one of the best!

Greg is a wonderful, knowledgeable host. The location of the home is great if your looking for a quiet place to stay. Also, the private access is great for avoiding the crowds. We would absolutely stay here again.

Our visit to MV and stay at Greg's house was exactly what we needed. The house was as described and portrayed, with more than enough space for our family. Highlights included the patio overlooking the beautiful yard, a fantastic separate studio for remote work or as a quiet reading area and the spacious bedrooms. The location of the house is ideal for up-island excursions and the access to Quansoo beach is an incredible benefit. Greg is an excellent host; he was proactive, thoughtful and responsive throughout the planning process and stay. We had a fabulous time!

Greg’s house is a lovely home in a terrific location. After 25 years in Katama/Edgartown, we were happy to experience summer on the quieter side of the island. Greg was a terrific host who made check in a breeze, was available for all questions or needs, and even came by to bring some toys for my 3 year old.

Enjoyed corresponding with owner. Extremely helpful and friendly. House worked well for a big group only wished the studio had a more comfortable pull out couch

Can't wait to go back!
We had a fantastic stay at Music Street and we would absolutely agree with prior reviews, the pictures don't do this home justice! We were there with three generations- my parents, myself and my husband, my brother and his wife, and our two year old daughter and four year niece. There was something for everyone to enjoy in the home and plenty of space for everyone to be more than comfortable with nice sized bedrooms and each couple getting their own bath! Greg was fantastic to communicate with and he certainly ensured that we had a smooth and enjoyable stay from beginning to end. The house was immaculate, functioning AC (though we preferred the breeze from the many windows!), and well stocked kitchen.
We particularly enjoyed the location of the house. 15 minutes to pretty much everywhere we wanted to go, and you had the benefit of an expansive yard to play in (with a playground close by!) and also be able to walk/bike to several places. This was a 10/10 experience for all of us and we can't wait to go back!

I’d say this was the best experience with a vacation rental we’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. The house is serene and full of character and books and pictures on the walls that invite you to brew a pot of tea and relax after an invigorating walk on one the many awe-inspiring beaches on the Vineyard. It says a lot that our three-year-old, infamously known for her sleep deficit, slept soundly in her own room every night of the five nights of our stay. Another first is that we woke up breathing clearly, an incredibly reassuring testament to the cleanliness of the linens and rooms in general.
Greg was welcoming from the start and outfitted the playroom with a selection of toys so engaging it was the first place Poppy wanted to go every morning. That alone was worth picking 44 Music Street! My husband fully enjoyed grabbing a book and retreating to the studio for a few hours. We savored the autumn vegetable wrap with honey garlic aioli at 7a Foods and stalked the pastries, bread, cheese, and produce at the Grey Barn. The rabbits that visited the backyard in the evening were quite the storybook touch.
I could go on and on and on about this magical spot. The few things I’ll make sure to bring next time are our stainless steel French press (okay, maybe the espresso maker) and bigger suitcases for a longer stay. Our deepest thanks to Greg and Sarah for their hospitality in welcoming us to their lovingly maintained family retreat.

What amazing property! We couldn't believe how comfortable our stay was. It could not have been a better experience. The host was extremely accommodating, the property was immaculate, and the atmosphere was very inviting. We would happily rent this home again.

The whole experience was wonderful. The cottage showed how much Greg and Sarah love this place, that has been in their family for generations. Beautifully appointed inside, lovely patio looking out on an inviting backyard. It had, pretty much, everything you would need for cooking, playing, beaching, and relaxing. And, the kids really enjoyed the play area in the finished basement.

The house was charming and spacious with a lovely large backyard in a great location in adorable West Tisbury (easy walk to Alley’s General Store, 7a for delish breakfasts and lunches, the Artisans market at the Grange, etc. ) also right around the corner from the Farmers Market at the Ag Hall snd very near the so-pretty Grey Barn (cheeses, unbelievable baked goods, veg and meats) and the Yoga Barn (lovely space and I love their classes) as well as coming with access to beautiful and exclusive Quansoo beach! Located in the lovely bucolic center of the Island (farms, horses, wild turkeys), you have easy access to Edgartown, Oak Bluffs, Menemsha, the Gay Head cliffs, Chilmark, Land Bank hikes, etc. Greg was a wonderful and responsive host, very accommodating of our guests’ plans. Highly recommend (and we will be renting the house again for guests for our son’s June wedding!)

Awesome loooong weekend in Martha’s Vineyard
We just had the best time at Greg’s place. After searching in vain up and down the east coast for a great place to spend an extended the Labor Day holiday with friends, we stumbled on this rental which looked perfect. And it was!!!!! It’s hard to capture in a few words when everything just comes together smoothly on a vacation, but having the rental home as a “home” base was just perfect. We also had a great great time at the private beach, and enjoyed sitting in the sizable backyard sipping scotch and staring at the starry night sky! Greg was very responsive to every need, we could tell he really cared. The house felt like home, comfortable, well-stocked, roomy, with the rustic charm we fell in love with on the island.

Great Week!
My family and I loved this home, it's is warm and welcoming. The location was perfect for getting to other parts of the island quickly. The owner was wonderful at communicating with us and making sure all went smooth upon check-in, during our stay, and at check-out. We would book this home again in a heartbeat!

We had the best stay!
Greg and Sarah's property is well maintained, comfortable, clean and just what we needed. They were fabulous hosts. We felt like they were genuinely concerned about the enjoyment of our stay and our trip not just about their rental property. This location in West Tisbury was perfect for our family with young children who woke up early b/c of the playground two houses down. The Quansoo beach that came with the rental was spectacular and a real treat! We would 100% recommend the house, the hosts, and the location to families looking for a quiet get away. We made many many happy memories.

The house was exactly as represented, clean and comfortable for family and friends to gather. The beach was incredible (close by) and so calming. The owners were incredibly accommodating, even running an ethernet cable to ensure that the studio out back would get reliable internet for the person in our party who was working remotely during our stay. Also, the book collection in the house is extensive; icing on the cake of a perfect getaway property.

Home was clean, welcoming and centrally located for down island shopping and up island adventures. I would like to see an array of spices in my kitchen so guests would not have to go out and buy same but otherwise kitchen was well appointed. Great backyard with wild turkeys visiting twice a day. Liked the flow downstairs from kitchen through dining area to living room.

Wonderful home in West Tisbury
We had a wonderful week in Martha’s Vineyard at 44 Music Street. The house was spotless, the layout is perfect for family gathering, and the expansive yard is great for outdoor games and fun for kids. The location right by Alley’s, 7a and Grange Hall, plus the West Tisbury playground, can’t be beat if you want great access to quiet up island spots as well as more bustling down island towns. Greg was a gracious host, available when needed, and the house was well stocked with everything we could have needed. We highly recommend this property.

DELIGHTFUL STAY ON MUSIC STREET!!
This past week my family consisting of three generations delighted in staying at this property on Music Street. While my son and his family occupied the three bedrooms on the 2nd floor, my husband and I appreciated the loveliness and spaciousness of the first floor MBR. Meanwhile, our twenty something grandaughter was overjoyed with the privacy and air conditioning in the studio. The air conditioning in both the house and studio provided much welcome relief from the heat and humidity of our rental week!
The beautifully landscaped yard and house exceeded our expectations. The property reflects the love and care that Gregg and Sarah put into it. I must say that the host’s communication and responsiveness is unparalleled in all my 75 years of travel experience! We especially appreciated Gregg’s sharing of the history of the property.
The logistics of getting together during a Pandemic was acutely challenging, but our stay at Gregg and Sarah’s house really helped to make the week the best it could be. Next time we rent, it will surely be this house on Music Street.
IT IS A GEM!!

Lovely, bucolic and spotless home
Greg and his home are lovely. The grounds are gorgeous. It feels like staying in a friend’s home. Spotless and perfectly set up for renters. Quansoo key beach makes life so much easier - no worries about parking or social distancing. Perfect first up island experience after many summers I. Edgartown. A taste of the slower side of the island and still perfectly located to reach all corners quickly and easily. Proximity to the farmers market is excellent. And the family is kind and generous.

Great house, great location
Our family recently rented this house for 5 days to attend a wedding. It was a wonderful house and location for adults and children alike. The house is walking distance to the bakery/coffee shop and general store, and to the library (great for children) and a gallery in West Tisbury. And there is a playground right down the street. The central location on the island is perfect - most of us had never been there and we were able to see everything, from Edgartown to Chilmark. The beaches were great. And the house is lovely - the kitchen is well equipped, many windows face to the beautiful back yard, and the beds are comfortable. There is a nice lower play area for children. We highly recommend.

We’d do it again
Our first extended family vacation. The listing didn’t do the house justice. It’s spacious, clean and well kept. The backyard is huge so it’s perfect for outdoor activities. Dealing with Greg and Sarah was wonderful. They were quite prompt with responses to questions and and fixing little problems that arose. Greg was very helpful with places to go and things to do. They are gracious and charming. We will definitely stay there again when we go back to the Vineyard.

The perfect vacation rental
I have been going out to the Vineyard for over 10 years and recently I had the privilege to stay at this property with three couples and all our kids(8 and under). It was hands down the best rental property I have ever stayed at inside and out. We spent the majority of our time in the huge private back yard which has peaceful views and more than enough room for kids and adults to run around and play in.
The private beach access that comes with the house is worth every penny and then some as it’s one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The kids enjoyed the lake side of the beach(accessible from the left side of the parking lot) which has a fun current that leads out to the Ocean during the summer months and never gets more than a few feet deep. If your traveling with little ones that can’t walk themselves it is a bit of a hike but completely manageable(we did it every sunny day)
Greg, the owner, went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and provided everything to make this the perfect week out on the Vineyard.
I would highly recommend Music street for your next escape!

Perfect stay at 44 Music Street
Our group of 6 adults gathered here for a perfectly wonderful week in May; a month with few crowds and little traffic, lovely weather and blooming trees everywhere. We chose a peaceful location hoping that everyone would enjoy the 5 minute stroll into the center of West Tisbury, which provided a general store, cafe, art gallery, library and farmers market. This proved to be true. We took beautiful walks in every direction and found the central location made travel to other parts of the island a breeze. We also had the pristine private beach all to ourselves. The house was wonderful; the bedrooms were spacious, and there were plenty of baths. The outdoor shower was greatly appreciated. The house, kitchen and yard also accommodated a larger gathering of extended family who enjoyed the beautiful rural setting, music in the yard, and the amazing turkeys, our constant companions. This would be a great spot for children as the spacious basement is loaded with toys and games, the yard is vast and and the town hall has a very nice public playground. Our host, Greg, went above and beyond providing us with exceptional information and attention, albeit from afar. Communicating with Greg was truly an enjoyable experience. He was responsive, chatty and wonderfully helpful. We all had a very happy week at 44 Music Street and we would love to return to this special home before too long.

Charming house that has it all!
This house is very clean, bright and lovely. Perfect location. We made a Thanksgiving dinner for 9 and had plenty of room to cook, visit, sit and eat. Plenty of sleeping room and bathrooms for a large group. The yard is beautifully maintained and plenty of room for the Thanksgiving football game! Spacious and updated the house offers plenty to do inside (amazing library!) and outside, even in November. We also took advantage of beach key and visited the absolutely amazing Quansoo Beach. I can't imagine how great this house would be during the summer!

Wonderful home with a perfect Vineyard location and idyllic backyard
44 Music Street is a perfectly located, wonderful home, with a backyard view that rivals the peace and beauty of a pond or the ocean. This charmer in-town, with a pass to glorious Quansoo Beach, proved fantastic for our kids, grandkids, and us. For some 40 years we have always stayed in a very rural, remote, seaside locale in Chilmark. We actually almost preferred being in the town of West Tisbury, walking along Music Street to the various activities in early October.
Greg and Sarah Barron have outfitted and renovated this historic home, and they are ever so helpful and gracious. You will feel the history of the home, and you will also see how well-planned all is - from the shed with croquet and beach necessities, neatly arranged, to the large welcoming mudroom with huge closets, to the basement that makes rainy days fun, and to the peaceful studio. The house was truly perfect for us, and we as a couple want to return, even if the kids cannot come.
If you are new to the Vineyard, this would be a great introduction, and if you have always stayed in houses out at the end of dirt roads that lead to the ocean, you will love the change of this place. FOr our partial family gathering, the rooms were perfect: master on the first floor for my husband and me, and three good sized bedrooms on the second floor, for a couple and two children. Even the very spacious upstairs hall was welcoming. We mostly used the master bathroom, to bathe a baby, and barely used the two upstairs bathrooms, since we were enjoying the outdoor shower.
We sat outside on the brick patio, often in the mornings, and then again before dinner. Also, cooking worked well in the kitchen, but we also were centrally located and the drive to restaurants was short.
The open kitchen-dining-living-tv room worked well for a group with small children, and the fact that it opened on to the backyard with sliding doors was delightful. From Music Street, the house just cannot be appreciated. You also are near to mooing cows and horses grazing. A wonderful home!

Perfect house, perfect location, perfect vacation
My family has been coming to the Vineyard since my mother was a baby close to 80 years ago, and now I've been coming with my wife and our two kids for the past decade. I have stayed in literally dozens of houses up island over the years and 44 Music Street was absolutely one of my favorites. The house is beautifully maintained, has all the amenities you could ever need -- including central a/c, a basement playroom for the kids, a huge lawn that's perfect for running around or baseball catches, and all up-to-date appliances -- and is in a perfect location (walking distance from Alley's, an iconic general store that has been on the Vineyard forever). The owners are extremely warm and helpful, and nearby if you need them. We reserved for next summer before we even came home from this vacation. If you are lucky enough to find an available week, snap it up! You won't find better.
