This was our first family vacation without extended family and it was a fantastic because of this home. Location was truly unbeatable. Super close to the beach, the pool, stores, and restaurants.
The property was spacious way beyond what we needed for a family of 4 and would have been great with another family too. Kids loved their bunk bed rooms. The top floor entertainment space and balcony was huge for us and we looked forward to the hot tub every night.
We were able to ride out the last gasps of tropical storm Idalia safely and without incident.
We will remember this place fondly and look forward to coming back to OBX again.

We had a wonderful time! Loved the early morning coffee on the deck upstairs. Kids loved the bunk beds and the big room upstairs. We enjoyed the relaxing hot tub. Kitchen was well stocked for meal prep. Outside shower and rinse areas were great! This place had everything we needed!

We enjoyed being so close to the beach. No crossing the road. Kids enjoyed having a get away upstairs as did the big boys playing pool. Nice big table for family meals. Clean and very well stocked with kitchen needs.

Beautiful home! Plenty of space! Great location! No problem with finding a spot on the beach. Dune walk was a work out for all, but that was the only slight inconvenience to our stay. Our family had a beautiful vacation. Will highly recommend. Thank you!!!

This was a great place to stay. There was plenty of space for everyone within the house. The upstairs was great to play games/music and relax at the end of the day. The house is a short hike up a dune to the ocean and is located in a great area for any type of shopping/needs may arise. There were several days/nights hanging out downstairs in the swings/hot tub. The house was clean and comfortable throughout the stay. I hope to book another vacation here in the future.

This was my family's first visit to the OBX. We researched dozens of places and settled on the Shore Shack because of the bright, happy, beachy vibes we got from the photos and the great reviews. We liked that it was a casual, homey beach shack. Upon arriving, I can say that this home made us all smile at the fun, colorful decor and it was immaculately clean. Every nook and cranny was fresh and clean. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need and we had paper towels and toilet paper to get us started before heading to the market. From toaster, coffee pots, blenders, crock pot, to plenty of silverware, plates and cookware, this kitchen was fully outfitted. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, quaint and decorated nicely. Plently of towels and linens were provided. The upper level was great fun with the billiard table, TV room, wet bar, overlooking a great view of the beach from the deck. A screened in deck off the dining room added extra seating for outdoor meals. Washer/dryer was an added bonus. But it was the under-house tiki hut, lounge area with hammocks, and hot tub that my family loved the most. Lawn games and outdoor shower, grill, private beach access, and a quiet cul-de-sac made this house perfect for us. The house was also centrally located near lots of stores and restaurants. We thought it was just perfect. The owners were super quick responding to questions and were available to us if needed. Very responsive and friendly! This was our first time using vrbo and first trip to OBX, but certainly won't be our last.

The weather was tuff for a few days but the house provided more than enough to do. Pool table, games, puzzles, TV, Etc. The overall house was fabulous and you couldn't ask for anything more. We enjoyed our time there and hope to return.

Really enjoyed our stay here. It's very close to the beach, as well as a grocery store and restaurants/shopping. We had a great time in Nags Head, and this was a great place to come back to each day. Everything you need in the kitchen; TVs all over the place, pool table, hot tub, board games, cable TV, and much more. Enjoyed it very much!

Our family of 8, which included 3 generations, stayed here with plenty of room. The layout of the first floor with 2 bedrooms on each side of the dining room worked out perfectly for us. The upstairs room was incredible. A huge great room with the pool table on one side and a cozy living room on the other all with a beautiful view of the ocean. The pictures truly don’t do it justice. My family and I (spouse and four teenagers) rented this home for a week. It was spacious and roomy. More than enough space that we weren’t on top of each other . The top deck was so lovely to have coffee in the morning and watch the sunrise ! Eating outside on the lower screened in deck was great too for lunches!
While we didn’t even get around to using the hot tub- it was clean and looked great!
Our teenagers loved the pool table and the beach was just a quick walk up a hill.
The location was also fabulous - we had to make several trips to the grocery store… well… because 4 teenagers… and it was SO close which was so convenient .
We would 10/10 definitely rent this home again!

Two families of four with small children stayed here comfortably. Easy walk to the beach, access to a nice pool nearby. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook. The outdoor shower came in handy. It was near record heat so the upstairs Play room AC struggled a bit in late afternoon but that is probably rare. We would definitely recommend this house for a week at the beach.

Exceeded our expectations
We are a family of 5 with teenagers and a tween. Each kid really wanted their own bedroom and we all wanted a house close to the beach with swimming pool privileges and not in a condo. This looked like a good fit and it was absolutely perfect for us! Weather wasn't great but there is plenty of space in this house. Top floor was great for shooting pool or watching movies. Family meals on the main floor (we did eat in a couple of times). Kitchen was well stocked. Place was very clean and everything was in good working order. Mattresses were too soft but they were clean. Loved the outdoor space under the house. My daughter read in the hammock almost every day. Very short walk up the dunes onto a non-crowded beach. Access to the beach club and pool was a big bonus. It is only 1/3 of a mile away. Short walk or you can drive there with the parking pass. Storage room had plenty of beach chairs and beach toys and games. Should have left our chairs at home. Outdoor shower was great for getting sand off or using as a 3rd shower. You CAN see the ocean from the top floor. Quiet cul de sac. Would highly recommend to families. Owners were easy to reach. But the place was great so no need to bug them.

We stayed here last year and i left a long, detailed (positive) review. We had a great time again! The proximity to the beach, the use of the pool and tennis courts at the club, the hot tub, the pool table, the kitchen tools, and the overall setup of the house are GREAT. Highly recommended!

The house was very welcoming & beachy! The entertainment it offered for our young adult children was perfect! It was close to the beach & offered both inside & outside entertainment (pool table, big TVs, a beautiful yard for corn hole, etc)! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was a pleasant lady with great personality! We will be back for sure!

Absolutely perfect location - coffee on the deck every morning, we could hear the waves crashing perfect way to start the day! Very short two minute walk over the dunes to beautiful beach. Rode our bikes every day - so nice to have a bike rack undercover to lock them up. House was very well appointed with lots of room to spread out on two different levels. We had fun playing pool and relaxing in the upstairs family room and was a plus to have a wet bar up there with a refrigerator! The only thing we didn't end up using was the hot tub.....but looked great! We stayed with our 10 and 14 year old daughters and grandma and grandpa joined us for a couple of evenings as well. So easy to get to some great restuarants close by and checked out the kite festival one day at the big dunes down the street! We will absolutely be back!! Thank you!

It was a very close walk to the beach. The shack was adorable, decorated with beachy themes. There is a hot tub, swings, rocker, hammock and 2 decls one covered and one on top. You cannot see the waves because of the large dunes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was very clean and tidy and the kitchen was very well stocked with everything we needed. Highly recommend!

The weather was pretty chilly when we were there, and it was so nice to have a great place to have fun together. All communication with the host was fantastic. It appears the washer/dryer were new and we were the first to use the grill. The owners definitely take into account previous comments, which is a great thing! The location was perfect for us as it is located close to other attractions to keep the kids busy. Be aware it is a climb over the dunes to the beach but that didn’t stop us or my kids from getting into the cold water this time of year. Thank you Terry for sharing your home!
