Our stay at Gardenia Mare was exceptional. As we descended the several flights of stairs from the street, my mom and fiancé kept saying “this is where we’re staying?!?!” We checked in at the restaurant and were given keys and an orientation to the place. The apartment was well appointed with everything we needed to cook some meals for ourselves. We had lunch in the restaurant which was more expensive than we had been used to paying on our trip so far (single dishes ~€25 and up) but after the first bite we all looked at each other wide eyed and saying how delicious it was. On our last night we enjoyed the 5 course meal for €75 and were in heaven. Each dish was presented beautifully and explained to us. Mauro was a wonderful host who did everything from booking a taxi to giving us local recommendations to fixing our toilet. Mauro told us that the little cove this beach club is situated on is one of the best in Ischia and after seeing some other parts of the island (all beautiful) we had to agree! Safe, tranquil, with a wonderful atmosphere and excellent food, views, and swimming, we are already planning our return!

There were some loud parties that went until about midnight, and there is always music playing at the beach club. We would have preferred more quiet but recognized that this is probably the norm for this island. We loved our stay.

Absolutely loved this place. Mauro is a super host! He did everything possible to make us feel welcomed including helping us rent a car, get a water taxi to catch our ferry to Procida, advise us what to order for meals, get someone to carry our bags up the hillside. (The resort is built on a hillside with 75 steps down from the street to the restaurant and apartments so it could be difficult to access for someone with mobility issues.) The food at the onsite restaurant was delicious. We enjoyed swimming, kayaking and sunbathing at the location. The views of the bay and the local castle from the resort were stunning. The 2 level apartment had everything needed to cook meals and wash clothes. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom included soap and shampoo. We had our own outdoor patio where we could eat meals and relax. We wish we could have stayed longer.

As a healthy, but not athletic 80 year old, I wish there had been an easier way to get down to the resort than the many stairs. But the location was stunning and the staff so helpful that I am grateful I could manage the stairs.

I have never in my life seen such a beautiful apartment. The apartments are 5/10 seconds from the beach beds, the water is ice blue. Just beautiful. We ate in the restaurant every night. I know there’s more places around to eat but honestly once you taste the food here you wont want to eat else where. Its like your own little bit of paradise.

The property overall is beautiful! A little slice of paradise. Owner Mauro was very helpful and nice. He helped us get a rental car delivered to the property. The beach club looked nice but we never got to use it as they had events and it rained most of the days we were there. We arrived by water taxi so we didn't have to carry our bags down the stairs which was helpful. Having a washer was very nice and helpful since we were traveling for a while.

COMMUNICATION, they had two very loud events one on Saturday and one on Monday. I would have appreciated a prior notice before we arrived, a discount, or an option to cancel our stay. The noise was so loud all day we were not able to enjoy the property or beach club which was very unfortunate. We tried to make the best of our stay as it rained by renting a car and driving around the island. The unit was spacious, however, needs some love/ updating (furniture/ better beds, loose tiles) We were also not able to use the restaurant due to the events so that was a bit of a bummer too as we heard it was very good.
