Missing kitchen utensils such as cutting knife. When asked about it was ignored. Not clean. No dishwasher. Expected what was shown on pictures, but that was not what we recieved. Bathroom was old, shower and not bath. No balcony. The balcony is holding 2 airconditioning, where you have no space to sit and smoke or enjoy outside your morning Coffee. Plus host comes each morning without any warning to change the airconditioning gallons. Building is a monument but sadly for business purposes the lay-out was reconstructed making it not pretty at all. Apparently tax you need to pay cash on your arrival. How this is calculated is not clear. Location was perfect for us.

dirty room. mold. photos from 10 years ago. shady neighborhood. lots of black people offering drugs. the owner ordered an extra charge of 50e. after reporting the matter to booking, he writes unpleasant messages that he spends so much on a glass of wine. pretends to be rich when in fact he eats overcooked pasta and pours ketchup on his pizza. avoid this guy.

Good location in the city center.

The bed is horrible : it is sagging and the mattress feels thin. We feel (and hear) the springs of the bed. The duvet was so dirty with white marks on it that we had to call the owner to change it. The new one was......more acceptable... Room is noisy. Couch is dirty. There is dust in the bathroom walls. Silver fishes in the bathroom floor Will not come back

We arrived at 9 pm. Although on the website it was written that check-in was possible till 23:30, the employee who welcomed us charged us 10 euros per person for the late check-in under the reason that the reception closed at 20:00. However, we have not seen any reception or receptionist nor have we found this information on the website or the email we received regarding the booking. Additionally, he charged us 25 euros due to covid-19 sanitization. Quite oddly, the cleaning staff was composed of a woman, a man, and a child (probably less than 10 years old) who had no masks nor any covid related sanitization equipment. Despite the 35 euros paid for the cleaning services (10 euros in the overall price and the 25 euros paid on our arrival), we found dirty tableware, a grimy bathroom rug, the bathroom toothbrush holder with a brownish inside layer of dirt, not to mention the intense stench of mold in the bathroom. In the bedroom, the mattress displayed a depression in the center, and there was a significant layer of dust under the bed. The icing on the cake: we searched on Booking for a structure with SPA. Siciliabedda was among the first 5 suggested. We were initially inclined to a hotel, but then we thought that Siciliabedda could offer a nice compromise between relaxation and privacy in the center of Catania. Unfortunately, Siciliabedda has only one apartment with a SPA bath. But since Siciliabedda is advertised with a picture of a SPA bath, this is misleading and displays a dishonest marketing strategy. Lastly, the employee contacted us to know whether we would leave before check-out. This is not only unusual but quite disrespectful, precisely in light of the many inconveniences during our stay. If you are going to spend the whole day around the city, need a central and sufficiently clean place to go back to at night, and have no expectations, Siciliabedda can even be okayish. This is NOT a SPA structure, nor should it be advertised as one.

Good location, nice historical building close to city center, restaurants and places to visit.

The apartment was not clean enough, there was a bad mold smell especially in the bathroom and dust everywhere, not good for allergic people. The sheets and towels were of poor quality and stained (see pics attached) The apartment is rated for 4 adults, but the sofa bed in the living-room is really small and very uncomfortable, not for 2 people (see photo attached). Better to specify that is max for 3 people. The owner should specify all the extra fees and the specific amount on booking.com : he charged 150 EURO (by postepay transfer) for the cleaning fee because we had 2 small size dogs staying in their dog bed. We always travel with dogs and never paid more than 30 euro for additional cleaning, 150 EURO it’s just a SCAM. Knowing in advance this absurd extra fee we would have chosen another place.

A very good location, close to city center, close to many restaurants and places to visit. The owner was pleasant and responsive.

We booked ap. no. 2, and when we first entered the room, you could sense a bad smell, probably mold, as one of the walls had stains of dried water on them (see the pictures attached). In the first night, we turned on the AC unit and after a while water started to leak from it directly on the sofa, where people were sleeping. It turned out that the outside hose was strangled and water could not exit there and instead it leaked from the unit on the wall. The owner tried to convince me that I have pressed the wrong button on the AC unit remote. We booked the property for 9 days, and the sheets were not changed once. You had to pay extra 10 euros per person to change the sheets. Also, during the 9 days stay, nobody entered to clean the room. On arrival we payed 50 euros for garbage collection but nobody entered the room to pick up the trash. After a discussion with the owner, he explained that you had to take the trash by yourself in front of the building for being collected. The room had very few outlets for charging devices. We had to unplug the desk lights in order to charge our phones. For the living area we had to buy a triple socket for charging the phones. The apartment is rated for 4 adults, but the living-room sofa is really small for adults. For 2 kids should be enough, but not for adults.

Our bus was late from Palermo so we arrived 6(!!) minutes after 8’oclock, so the guy charged us for 20 euros PER PERSON because of late check in. (after 8 o’clock there is a fee for late check in) we notified him previous that unfortunately we will be late because of the public transportation, but it didn’t matter He also charged us extra 10 euros per person for some covid cleaning, altough the place was EXTREMELY DIRTY. of course he didn’t give us any bill, niether he let us pay the fees the following day or pay buy bank transfer. The floors were never washed before in the apartment, the dishes were unwashed, dust everywhere etc. The bed is very uncomfortable and the neighborhood is not too good aswell.
