The hosts were the best we have ever experienced. The cottage history coupled with Richard Fyson's history (Mandy's father) added a wonderful personal touch. The kitchen was the most complete in dishes and utensils that we have experienced in over two months of traveling/staying in local rentals. Lastly, the sound of horses being ridden by the cottage nearly every day was an added plus.
Too many drivers think that this small village roadway is a racetrack.

Maisey Cottage is extremely comfortable and cosy. There is underfloor heating in parts of the cottage should you need it, and the log burner is so efficient that it warms practically all of the downstairs. Logs are provided. The seating in the lounge is very comfortable (at least one of our group ALWAYS falls asleep on one of the sofas!).
The kitchen has been very well planned and is comprehensively equipped with good quality things. There are two bathrooms with two showers making it ideal for two couples, although one is downstairs.
The beds are comfortable and plenty of fluffy towels are provided.
There are lots of useful things left in the kitchen - oil, condiments etc., ditto shampoo, shower gel etc in the bathrooms.
Maisey Cottage is in a good location within easy reach of many lovely places and Mandy the owner has left a comprehensive guide to days out, walks etc. It’s obvious she’s a very organised person!
It’s our second stay a Maisey Cottage as we love it so much, and it’s a halfway point to meet up with our friends from Manchester. I am sure we will stay again as it’s very much a home from home.
The only thing to be aware of is the staircase which is quite steep and winding and traditional to an older cottage. It is fine if you have no mobility issues but if you do, it would be something to consider.
Nothing, it’s great

Welcomed by owner who did walk through and pointed out all the little quirks of this beautiful old cottage. It has everything you need and more! Kitchen well stocked with everything you need, pans and plates aplenty.Very comfotable beds, good quality linen and towels. Ideal in heat of summer as the old thick Cotswold Stone walls keep the inside cool. Communication from owners was good.Good location for exploring area. . Highly recommend. We would rebook.
There was nothing we didnt like

Very quirky cottage full of character & history.
Some of the upstairs windows were draughty - perhaps hard to replace since it is a grade 2 listed building

Well equipped and comfortable cottage in a great location to explore the Cotswolds. Our hosts also provided a wonderful guide to local pubs, walks and attractions.
We didn't realise that Brize Norton airfield is down the road and the take off flight path is over the cottage. Of course, the number of flights is quite low but sometimes late at night.

Upstairs bathroom rather cool
