Reviewer Comments: We have been visiting the resort for about 10 years and it is a special place for us. It's just a shame that management has not required owners to keep up their units. For the last few times we have stayed at the resort it has increasingly been disappointing. The unit this time was not acceptable for the prices they charge. The carpets were stained and the bathroom was in disrepair...baseboards and wood falling apart. Lastly, I had left my pillow and called within an hour of leaving and was told by Melissa that she would contact housekeeping and then mail to me. I checked back and she said they had found it and they would have to wait until Thursday to send due to the hurricane. Which is totally understandable. After waiting another 10 days, I called back and Melissa said it was never found and that she never told me that. Management and units have gone progressively downhill. There's no way to tell what kind of a unit you will get...not sure about their rating system of "deluxe" or "superior". We've not found those to be accurate descriptors of the units we have stayed at for the past 2-3 visits.

Overall, I’m giving this review a 5 stars rating. However, a little deduction should be made for the unit itself. I’ll start with the “bad”. There were stains on the carpet (yeah, carpet...not a great choice for a rental unit), baseboards in the bathroom (near tub) got wet at some point and we’re stained. Basically, the paint needs freshening up. Some mildew on bathroom tiles. The tub was super slippery when wet with shampoo or soap (so be careful not to slip). Pots, pans, silverware and the coffee pot all need to be replaced with nicer stuff. I know that sounds petty, but the pans were all burnt up garbage - you can find better at Goodwill. The coffee pot worked fine... just looks kinda gross. Furniture was typical used/rental unit quality. Tan leather chair is stained with human oils and dirty shoes. Essentially , the unit needs some TLC. The on-site restaurant was fine. My wife and 2 kids enjoyed their meals; however, I got the grouper and it made me sick. The filet texture should have clued me in- it was strangely rubbery like it was over cooked, but wasn’t tough. Seriously, I got hives and a very upset stomach. I have no allergies to fish or any seafood. I almost needed to call for medical attention so I could get a shot of Benadryl or something. Doubt that would have helped with my bubble-guts, though. 🤷🏻‍♂️ The “good”: The property grounds itself are fantastic. It far outweighs any of the bad stuff mentioned above. The beach is perfection in my opinion. Natural dunes separate the property from the rental unit, but the elevation of the higher unit made for awesome beach views (and the many gopher tortoises in the dune area). I love “natural” beaches. The beach itself is awesome. Nice shelling and shark-toothing (is that a word?). The resort staff couldn’t be any nicer or accommodating. No complaints there! The resort grounds were well taken care of and seemed tidy. Our weather was a little chilly but that gave us the opportunity to keep the windows and sliders open for maximum enjoyment of the ocean views and sounds. I’d totally recommend this place. I know I’ve complained a bit about this and that, but the overall experience was probably a 4.25-4.75. Had the unit been modernized/freshened up, it would be a 100% 5-star rating.

We enjoy: having easy access to the beach and pools, your own private kitchen, washer/ dryer in unit and grills in pool area. It's also fun to drive around in gulf carts (rented from Coconuts). Each unit is privately owned so the conditions and level of updates vary. Unit #1324 has great views and is close to the pool, but it could use some updating. The carpet is worn and the washing machine barely works, besides that no complaints!

Pulling up to the resort on Good Friday and seeing the crosses was a blessing to my soul. My husband, my 3 sons and I shared communion at the foot of the cross that evening and attended the Sunday service! We were blessed! Unit was immaculate. Didn't bring our tennis racquets, but several courts were a short walk away. It was too windy to kayak, but we did that during a prior visit and had a great time. Restaurant on the property had an excellent variety of meals. Food was well-prepared and reasonably priced.
