About this cabin rental
Lazy Life Lake Lodge We have replaced our grill with a new stainless 5 burner grill and have also replaced all mattresses and box springs, king size beds in bedrooms 3 queen beds in loft. This gorgeous log home is located in a pristine cove in the Cove Pointe / Big Creek area on Norris Lake (point 6). The lake is literally right out your window. Home is in a cove so lake/ dock is primarily accessible may, June, July, aug early September due to lake level dropping in the off season. We still book outside lake season as the area is a peaceful getaway to enjoy family time. The home features two main decks that over look the crystal clear lake and woods and there are 2 smaller decks on the side of the home and out front. Great places to hang out. The home itself boasts a well furnished great room that is so welcoming and includes a nice large fire place with a newly installed big screen TV above fireplace. Great place to relax and enjoy family. Also a highlight are the excellent dining areas both inside and on the main deck with a wonderful view of the woods and water. You will find that everyone seems to gravitate to that main deck and its so fun to settle in after a long day on the water to laugh and tell stories. The kitchen is fully equipped and up to date including disposal, blender, dish washer etc. so you can focus on the fun stuff rather than the clean up. The washer and dryer in the main bathroom offers further convenience. All bedrooms are roomy and tastefully finished- pillow and fresh bed linens provided. And if you fall asleep on that comfy couch... well... people might just leave you there! Also- just in case of a rainy day we have videos and games but feel free to bring your own favorite fun stuff. The cabin has Wi-Fi but we hope you spend most of your time on the water and don't really need it. The easy walk to the dock and water is a short path through the beautiful canopy of trees. You may see deer- turtles- squirrels- wood peckers- otters or just about anything on your way to the lake. The dock gives you plenty of room to put your boat and feel free to bring your jet skis and put then on the 2 jet ski ports. Sequoyah, Whitman Hollow and Star Dust Marinas are near by. In season you can enjoy great food and drinks at the marinas. Need a boat look up local marinas for rentals. You just wont find a home this nice in such a beautiful cove on Norris Lake at this price. Trust me- this is the best part of the lake! And the beautiful cabin is perfect!!

If you are looking to get away from hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is a good place to do it. The beds were great. This is a large place and will sleep a small army. It is a nice cabin, right on beautiful Norris Lake which has some of the clearest, cleanest water you will see. Communication with the owner was very good. Everything worked. We went during the off season so the lake was dropped to winter pool levels. I think it would have been nicer at summer pool levels and taking a boat, but we just wanted some time together as a family. I recommend it.

Overall the house was pretty much as advertised. The cleaning crew did a BAD job prior to our arrival. My wife spent the first day cleaning.
Prior to our arrival the Gangplank to the dock had been damaged and was unusable. I had let the homeowners know of this and was told that the dock guy would be there to repair it on Sunday or on Monday, when we departed, No one ever showed up. Not that we would have not used the dock, but the homeowner should have let us know prior to our arrival that there was an issue with the dock.

We had a large group of family (consisting of 5 smaller families) together at the house, and it worked very well for us. Overall, there were pros and cons, but there was nothing that was a deal breaker for the week and we were able to enjoy our time there as a family.
Pros:
* Check in was super easy
* Host was quick to respond to messages and to try and help where they could.
* The beds were very comfortable
* The photos represented the house fairly well, and we pretty much got what we were expecting.
Cons:
* As some other reviews say, the driveway is very steep, much steeper than it seems in the photos.
* The house was still pretty dirty when we got there. Things like the floor, counters, some dishes, and bathroom rugs were are very dirty, and there was broken glass all over the table and floor. The hosts were helpful though and got someone to bring us over a mop as soon as they could. They offered to clean, but we didn't want someone else in our space.
* The dock is in rough shape - there are multiple cracks on planks, there is exposed, sharp metal at the entrance to the boat slips, and the slide is very rickety and the water pump to it is not setup.
* The wifi barely works most of the time - if you're expecting to get any work done, you need to go into town or to a marina to really access the internet.

Outside was in very poor condition, piles of brush spoiled view of cove, tree limbs in water by dock, mulch washed away from areas, area just not very clean ! House was clean, but we had ants from day one in several areas of the kitchen and dining area. There was four bags of trash left from prior visitors and we ran out of space for trash as communication was poor with the trash pickup person ! We still had a good time, but feel for the money the outside area could have been much cleaner !! Lastly, bottom patio was not used by anyone because of the shape it was in.

Very nice cabin. Norris Lake is very clean. The only thing i didnt agree with was the clean up rules when leaving. I can see straightening everything up but, wiping down bathroom and kitchen counters, and stove
and refridgerator, plus sweeping all the floors, emptying all trash and starting a load of towels and sheets is what you pay a cleaning fee for.

Its a great location with plenty of room and a very nice part of the lake. We had camp fires, used the dock, rented a boat and went off-roading near by. Stock up before you go, your about 25 minutes from groceries. If your into water sports or fishing, the lake is amazingly clear and you can hop from marina to marina to refresh and eat.

Overall it was a nice trip. Very accommodating for the amount of people we had. Make sure you have everything you need while in town it took us about 25 mins to get to Walmart. The only negative thing would have to be the Wi-Fi kept cutting out around the same time every night. The last day there we didn’t have service at all until we loaded up the next morning to leave. We have small children so some service would of been great incase if an emergency. The cabin is out in the middle of nowhere so it’s to be expected I suppose.

It was ok. Room were set up well. It did not have kitchen towel, bath towels for 10 people, not enough oven dishes to prepare meals. They wanted you to do their clean-up for them. strip the beds. Isn't that what the cleaning fee is for I thought.

Great place for large group to get together and enjoy themselves in a beautiful, quiet setting. Hosts were great and quick to respond when and if needed. Would like to visit again in warmer weather when we could enjoy the beautiful lake.

The reason we picked this property was to be able to rent a boat and have a Dock to hang out on. First we found out after Labor day Marinas basically close for business so we moved the date up closer to Labor day. That cost us more money. (Should be refunded)
What we found when we got there that they did not tell us was the lake was going to be drained and the Dock was 50-100 yards away from the property so we had no dock , no paddle board that was mentioned, or anything to hangout by the water. if we rented a boat no where to park it. Neighbors said lake was being drained a couple weeks before our visit. We found the grill was Not cleaned, lightbulbs out in some of the bdrms downstairs and stairway was so dimly lit, it was pretty dangerous walking down there, (Everyone was age 65-70 yrs of age) Batteries out in the remotes, (We replaced them with our own batteries from flashlights.) The reason I mention lightbulbs and batteries because there are notes all over of 50.00 charges to us if certain things were not followed.
There was No mention of Hickory nuts falling out of trees!!! Broke a windshield on our guests new car and One landed on my chest while I was sitting by the fire!! So be aware! We tried to make the best of it, contacted the owners several times but phone service is quite sketchy out there. So, Do not park under trees if you go in Sept. forward thru fall. The cabin itself was nice and well decorated but the description of having a boat dock is quite misleading if you are going late summer. It was in the 90's while we were there. Would have loved a Boat there like we planned on all along.

This was most of our first time to Norris Lake. We booked this house specifically because it had a nice dock which we wanted to be able to access for swimming and to hook up our boat rental. Unfortunately the dock had been moved, making it very difficult to access (through the woods). This really changed the vibe of our stay and we were sorely disappointed by this. The owners were slow to respond to us when we questioned where the dock was. Communications could have been better all around. The home itself was nice and comfortable. We just wished we could have accessed the lake more easily given it was the reason for the trip.

Overall home provided a very relaxing vacation for all.
Steps were hard on my in-laws at 76 years old. Kids ram up and down them.
Driveway was very steep. Cars got a little scrapped up on the underside trying to turn around. Best to back down if you have multiple cars that will be there.
Beds were extremely comfortable. All talked about how well they slept.
Paddle board and air hockey table were not present as listed in add. A little disappointing as if we had know that we would have brought our paddle board with.
Overall nice property and beautiful lake.

My family and I loved the cabin and location. We would have coffee in the morning over looking the lake to get our day started. Easy walk down the steps to the private dock to spend the day on the lake. Cabin is clean and cozy. My family had a great time!!!!

Great Stay at Norris
The property was great and in a good location. It worked great for our family! Only suggestion we would have is that the dock needs some TLC. Everything else was perfect and as advertised. Owners were great, responsive and very helpful with suggestions and answers as we prepared for our trip. Didn't need to contact them for anything while there because everything was great and in order.

We had so much fun, and the house was a perfect fit for our family! I would recommend backing into the driveway if you have a bigger vehicle. It’s a steep one, but we did just fine with our NV. Would definitely stay here again.

Great view
We loved this property and had a great time! The lakehouse is located in one of the coves, which makes it nice for swimming without a lot of traffic. The water is very clear. We will definitely return in warmer weather!
