We loved the location of this house in the Outer Banks. If you want to truly rest from the busyness of everyday life, this is the place. Even in December, we were able to sit on the deck and read books. Saw horses and collected beautiful seashells at the beach. It has a beautiful kitchen and comfortable living room area along with three nice sized bedrooms. Definitely need 4 wheel drive to get to and from. Prompt communication should you need to communicate with property owner at any time. Highly recommend this hidden gem.

The house was just as described, perfect for my husband as well as our dog. Private but close to the beach. Property owner was easy to communicate with. Would definitely stay again.

Overall it was a great house! Very clean, small and perfect for what I needed. Private and quiet! Could use some dressers for storing clothes out of your bags, but I made do.

We were looking for a place to stay on Corollla Beach so we could look for and see the wild horses and also enjoy the beach with our fur baby. This house was perfect! Clean, easy to find, easy check in with great communication. We also had fun driving around the area and saw wild horses every day! Highly recommend this place - we would definitely come back!!!

Great property to spend some time at the beach. Parking passes allow for parking your truck right on the beach. No traffic and no problems…just make sure you get your supplies and a full tank of fuel. Good communication and good tips from the manager for a stress free week. This is a very friendly area that we expect to visit again soon.

This was a great find! The house is tucked in on a no outlet road so there is very little traffic. It is only a 4 minute drive to the beach. Melissa provided drinking water, along with all the other essentials to make our stay cozy. Our kids loved the swings outside and the corn hole boards. On our second morning we woke up to a knocking sound under the house, which to our surprise was three horses! They hung out for about an hour which was neat to watch while drinking our coffee. While preparing for our trip, Melissa was quick to answer all our questions we had about the house. It was a relaxing vacation thanks to all the accommodations that was provided by Melissa. We hope to stay here again in the future!

To actually get to the house, you need to take the beach access road which was pretty exciting the first time around. Even though we have an all-wheel drive vehicle, the drive was too rough for us. We really enjoyed our stay at the house though. It was clean, comfortable and the host was very accommodating. We loved seeing the wild horses also! Not sure if it was the weather or the time of year, but the waves were too high and violent for swimming. We did however enjoy walking on the beach with our dog.

This was our first experience using VRBO and obviously our first experience with a host. This adorable little house on the Outer Banks of North Carolina was perfect for my wife and I celebrating our 30th Anniversary.
The host was quick to respond to any questions and the property was exactly how it was described. Very clean, easy access to the beach via a short drive. Just know you need a good AWD or 4WD to get to the property. Our Subaru Outback Wilderness had NO issues getting there and exploring the back roads of 4X4 beach searching for the famed wild horses.
Worth every penny!

This was the most memorable vacation we’ve taken since our retirement the beach -the horses - we were lucky to at least see one every day we we there - and really lucky to find one resting on the side yard of our Vrbo rental for almost an hour we just couldn’t take our eyes off of him and on our way out there were many horses on the beach - wonderful vacation!

In a word: quiet. This is the place one comes to get away from it all. Place is practically new, located among live oaks and loblolly pine. Home has everything you need provided you bring the basics w/you, if not you are 40 minutes to nearest gallon of milk. No one stumbles into 4x4 section of Outerbanks by accident, if you know, you know!!!

We tried something new this year and spent time just our immediate household for Thanksgiving. We loved the property! We’ve been to Corolla before, but stayed in town. Would definitely recommend staying here behind the dunes!

My family of 6 stayed at this beach cottage for a week. What a fantastic vacation we had! No problems driving the beach. The house was clean and exactly as it was portrayed in the pictures. We will definitely stay again! The owner Melissa was fantastic and was easy to get ahold of. I highly recommend staying at this beach cottage. We will be back!

We spent 8 days at this wonderful OBX house with our two toddlers and dog. This house is wonderful and ideally laid out for kids. It was well appointed, clean, and beautifully appointed. With the wonderful live oaks all around, it felt like we were in a tree house. We went to the beach every day and got to see the wild horses as well. If you are headed to the 4x4, this house is perfect. We plan to be back next year!

Off the beaten path and exactly what we needed. Wonderful bungalow with a lot of privacy.

This place was very peaceful tucked back from the beach. The house was beautiful. To the next people who rent this place make sure you have the right vehicle for the beach because it is 8 miles of sand to get through. Make sure you have a full tank of gas and all your groceries you need for the week. You will love this place absolutely wonderful.

Property very clean. It had no drawers for clothing and no towel racks. Otherwise, it was fine.

Great home
We loved the newness and cleanliness of the appliances and furnishings. It had everything needed to prepare and eat meals. Only drawback was lack of dressers but we did okay

Great place to unwind
The house itself was amazing, cozy, comfy, and had everything we needed.
Secluded location with plenty of privacy.
On the first day we had a wild horse right in our front yard!
Communication around check-in was poor. We did not receive the lock box code until 930pm that night which was a bit annoying.

This is our 3rd time vacationing in Carova but our first time staying at this place. We had a wonderful experience. The home was very neat and clean. The front yard was shaded and had a hammock and swings (which our young children loved). Thanks for allowing us to stay at your oasis!

Loved the area and the peacefulness of where it is located. Amenities made it so easy to prepare and store meals. Beautiful property with hammock, swings, place to make smores. Not far from beach access. We saw wild horses travel by the house. I highly recommend!!!!

The house was clean and comfortable. Be sure to bring everything you might need including food and other essentials. A few key items were missing like pepper, potholders, and dishwasher soap. The grill is one of those park grills and was extremely rusty. It was way too windy when we were there to use it anyway. You can’t run to the store so stock up before you go! You definitely need a four-wheel-drive vehicle or AWD with high clearance. We had one beach day and then a storm the rest of the time which made getting out of there quite challenging. Houses were in the water even at low tide and getting through the windswept dunes was difficult. We got stuck once and had to be pulled out. We were able to see the wild Corolla horses several times though and also drive around and explore Carova Beach (beach houses and an old Coast Guard station). There are not any items for toddlers like a pack and play or high chair at the house, so bring those too if needed. The porch is really nice and it has a gate that closes it off so the dog and toddler could play out there safely. Overall, the house and property are excellent and if you want a remote, private, different type of experience, this is it!

Off the beaten path and away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, this house is nestled in the perfect spot. We loved traveling up the beach to get to the house, and loved the seclusion. Minutes from the beach, each day was filled with beach, surf and frequent horse sightings. The kitchen is perfect for dining in and the house is very well maintained. We had a great time relaxing and recharging the batteries.

The actual stay was great. Everything was clean and listed accurately. The trouble came after the trip.
We got home and noticed we were missing some Nintendo Switch videogames. It was storming the night we left, so we just forgot to grab them from near the TV.
We reached out to the owner multiple times asking for an update or acknowledge or anything. It's been over 20 days and no response.
