The property was right in centre but away from Main Street, nice and quiet. It was amazing with cushions and curtains the owner made herself. Everything you could need to cook spotlessly clean, home away from home, so pretty. Could have stayed here longer. The owner popi was so kind and helpful, made me homemade spinach pasties that were delicious, and lovely leaving gift. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend these apartments 😀 I am a solo traveller and felt totally safe here.

Palemilos
Best place to stay in Elounda, perfect for a good quit vacation. Nice apartments with everything you need .
Popi is very nice and helpful with everything, We first stayed at Palemilos in 1996 and every year the next 9 years. It was so good to be back after 19 years. Thank you Popi for your warm velcome. We enjoy the Olive oil (and the raki), you gave us😊. See you soon….
Palemilos is located just behind the church on a very quit road next to the local
Take the shortcut 50 meters, and you are on the main street close to the supermarket, tavernas and restaurents. Take the bus or taxi from the main square to Agio Nicholas. At the bus station in Agio N. you can take a bus to all of Crete (but you dont want to lave Elounda😊)

+ It was a comfortable and not expensive accommodation
+ Our studio-room was clean, spacious and very nice, with everything we needed: air-conditioner (free of charge) and an overhead fan, many sockets, TV, safe, Wi-Fi, hair dryer, 3 towels per guest, enough light (natural and electric), but there were shutters and awning over the balcony for the sun
+ Very good equipped kitchenette: microwave, electric stove, toaster, kettle, drip coffee maker, sandwich toaster, eating and cooking utensils, paper towels, a full bottle of detergent and a new dish sponge (in an economy apartment!)
+ There was also a portion of soap, shower gel, hair cap and slippers in two sizes – everything is like in a 4* hotel!
+ The hostess also cares about the health of her guests: in our room we found a set of colour masks, disinfectants for hands and for the table
+ Our room was decorated in the same style of floral theme – pictures and plates on the walls, curtains, decorative pillows and even furniture handles. So nice, it wasn’t a faceless standard apartment!
+ Check-out time is about 11:30 – very comfortable!
+ Good situation of the hotel: 2 minutes walk to a cafe and a mini-supermarket, 5 minutes to Elounda beach, of course, this is not the best beach in Crete, but there are no waves here
+ Hostess Popi also lives there, so the reception is almost 24/7; we arrived at night and Popi waited for us even with a mini-dinner (for free!), because the restaurants and shops were already closed. She prepared cheese and spinach pies, chocolate, honey with yogurt, crackers, juice and water. Incredible hospitality!
+ Popi also kept a place in a public parking for us (sometimes it can be full)
+ And before our departure Popi gave us a fantastic present – a bottle of grappa and a bottle of olive oil, all in safe packaging for a long flight
+ There we felt not in as a hotel, but as at home of our dear aunt, thanks to Popi!
- It was the smallest shower in our live (probably 70x70 cm) - even for a very thin person it was inconvenient to use; the curtain closed the shower and the toilet (photo!), so the toilet was always wet, but the floor in the bathroom was also flooded; the window opened right into the shower to make it even smaller and from the balcony opposite we could be seen naked, and also there wern’t enough hooks for 3 towels per guest
- One morning there wasn’t hot water, which can be a problem for lovers of the morning shower
- Unsafe old sockets in our room, some of them sparked
- The pillows were uncomfortable for our taste, too thin
- There was no drying rack for swimwear
- Our balcony overlooked the common courtyard sometimes noisy in the evening (although it wasn’t a problem for 3 days), in general all street sounds were heard in the room but the hotel is situated in a quiet place, so there wasn’t a lot traffic noise
- Cleaning service 2 times a week (this may be a problem for somebody, but it was ok for us)
- The wardrobe was small and not very comfortable to use, perhaps you will need better wardrobe for a longer stay
- First time it’s difficult to find the hotel using the navigator, you need to ask the hostess in advance for the directions

We have been to Palemilos many times now and we always like it. Perfect location and Popi and Sofia are really nice.
The studio we rented this time had a very small bathroom, but I think the other apartments are more spacious

We spent a week's honeymoon at the hotel and were greeted and pampered by the owners with sweet fruit and wine on arrival and were given local products on departure. They left lots of small cute details making us feel very welcome like important information in both English and Italian.
The shower head was broken and they quickly replaced it so They are very helpful the cleaning lady was so kind to create a flower heart on our bed. Excellent position, just 1 minute from shops, markets, bars and bakery however still in a very quite area with no noise. Reccomend it!
The bathroom and shower were a little bit small.
The kitchen was well equipped but with only one big hob making it a bit difficult to cook.

Popi was a superb host. I had an ankle injury and she changed my apartment to a ground floor location at no change in cost
I also received 2 gifts of spinach and then cheese pies cooked by Popi. Nothing was too much trouble . Popi was always on hand to assist and provide any information needed
highly recommend this host and location

The apartment was clean and tidy and decently stocked with necessary equipment. The owner was super friendly and helpful. Good location, Elounda is a nice town to stay in.
Terrace was mostly shaded, in Oct this is a disadvantage.

Popi is the most fabulous host and takes care of everything including little details that make all the difference.
The location is fantastic for all areas and amenities in Elounda including the beach, many bars and restaurants, shop and boat trips. There are plenty of small shops for basic shopping as well as a very decent Discount Supermarket within a 10 minute walk for all self-catering needs. (Popi’s generous baking skills meant we always seemed to have a sweet treat in the fridge). We also particularly liked the butchers on the corner of main road and apartments road (5 minute walk) and the butcher was very helpful and encouraged us to taste before we bought. All very nice..meat and cheese and very much enjoyed the local wine €2.90 a bottle!
The rooms are perfect and very comfortable.. especially the bed. Facilities for cooking are great and even a little toastie machine which is very useful for a quick lunch. Pans very good to use as we cooked a steak one night.
All in all we felt at home straight away and nothing was a problem to ask Popi. Will definitely be returning in the future and I would definitely recommend to couples, single people and families alike.

This complex of eight or ten apartments is located in the center of Elounda, very close to the church, all the finest cafes and restaurants, four or five supermarkets, the port with boats going to Spinalonga, and most importantly, the splendid sandy central beach. Your walk to the beach will last 3 minutes, but if you want to reach its better and more distant part to avoid stones at the water's edge, you will have to walk another 50 or 60 meters. But what makes this place really extraordinary is Popi the landlady and owner. Popi is a retired English teacher and a very, very special lady, friendly, helpful and useful to a degree that is unsurpassable.
The double bed is good and comfortable, but sticks to one corner in the room, so the person lying by the wall has a hard time getting up without disturbing his or her partner. The shower in apt. 6 was large and comfortable, while the sink and toilet are somewhat crowded, whereas in apt 10 the sink and toilet are larger and better, but the shower is so narrow that using it became a nightmare.
