Otroligt fint läge. Hela atmosfären var underbar. Mycket bra frukost med många val.

The history of the mill and the glorious location was very special. So relaxing listening to the rushing stream and birdsong. Fantastic river view from our first floor window.
Loved the cosiness of the bar and the characterful dining room. Breakfast was fabulous...from the fresh fruit to the delicious, freshly cooked options.
The alfresco meals at the pleasant outdoor bar area by the river were also very good and dinner was fabulous!...(salmon topped with delicious sauce & prawns, greens and chat potatoes from the specials board was my favourite!)
Leaving!

Location and atmosphere were great.
The pub garden was lovely. The full English breakfast was excellent.
Staff were polite but seemed grumpy.
The parking is very limited and we were told that the nearest available parking is a 10 minute walk away. Not ideal when carrying bags. Shame parking isn’t reserved for just guests staying overnight.
As the building is old you can hear everything in other rooms that are below or above you. Particularly if people are stomping around their bedroom. I was on the ground floor and the people in the room above were making noise at 2am. They then woke up at 6.15am and created noise until gone 8.30am.

Excellent location - 700 year old mill with river running through the restaurant (Mill wheel removed!). Great walks along the river. Excellent food and service.
No air conditioning in the room mad it stuffy - but it was the hottest day of the year!

It’s historical interest.
It’s individuality.
The staff were very warm and helpful.
The two meals we had in the restaurant were quite special.

Location and pleasant staff
Noise all night from some kind of a pump in the cleaning room next to our room

The location is absolutely stunning and interior décor is wonderful. Most of the staff were helpful, professional and very pleasant.
Breakfast was really good.
Very clean and well cared for throughout.
I expected some noise as it has a pub onsite, so that's to be expected. I did not expect the soundproofing to be as poor with the room above, you can literally hear the shower and every foot step.
I stay in rooms at around this price point frequently and most would include premium items such as tea coffee as opposed to the same quality you get in a Premier Inn or Wetherspoon hotel. The hotel I stayed in previous to this (also in Salisbury) had fresh coffee, home made cookie and nice tea. Small cups are also a bit out dated.
Shower was warm, not hot the second morning I stayed.
Cheap loo roll just seemed out of place in such a nice hotel.
Breakfast took a while on the first morning which, for business users, many will need to be quickly out the door in the morning. Second morning was quicker to be fair.

The location is absolutely beautiful. The room had recently been refurbished and was lovely. The breakfast was individually cooked and amazing.
It is a bit of a climb to the top rooms but that can't be helped with such an old building. I didn't know that I had to leave a hook on the door to say that I wanted the room made up and so it wasn't . This wasn't a major problem but there wasn't sufficient toilet paper left for a 2 day stay and so I had to go back downstairs to ask for more, I would request that there is always a spare roll left in bathrooms but this is a minor point.

The hotel closed 4 days before we arrived, they did not inform us of this. We arrived in Salisbury with no where to stay!! Absolute disgrace, cost us additional money for accommodation
5.0
The location was amazing and far exceeded our expectations. However, as it was a very hot day and the river full of people and dogs cooling down it was a lot noisier than would normally be expected. On a cooler day it would be great and a pleasant walk into Salisbury! Overall an enjoyable stay but please see 'what we didn't like' below ....
The hotel was woefully understaffed but that seems to be par for the course at the moment. However, the lack of staff and poor overall management resulted in us being double charged for one night or our two night stay. It has now been 3 weeks and the hotel has still has not responded to my emails and they never, ever answer the phone! Promises to 'return your call never materialise. I have resorted to sending a registered letter in the hope of getting my £89 returned.
The room was extremely tired. There had clearly been a bad water leak in the bathroom ceiling and the damage had not been repaired. It is such a great location that the hotel would be able to recoup any investment they made upgrading the rooms just a bit! I don't like 'posh' hotels but this one would definitely benefit from a lick of paint!

Staff were exceptional. Food was very good. Lovely little area out the back to eat and relax. Rooms were a good size and well ventilated

The staff apologise frequently about the poor state of the accommodation. Food was good but took 1 hour from order to table, staff shortages?
Everything, paid for superior room overlooking the river but was given a very shabby dump with no view, after complaining that was changed to room 9 on the 3rd floor which did overlook the river. No pillow cases until 9pm, only 1 staff member covering 2 bars, no hot breakfast (chef not booked ) no shower because towel had large brown stain, wash basin had a large crack in it. We were not the only guests complaining, there was a que of guests with similar problems.

location
i think the bedrooms need to be refurbished. we were in room 8, the mattress was very lumpy and hard, and the shower was unusable and leaked constantly.

Excellent location easy and attractive walk into town through water meadows with unspoiled view of the cathedral.
Breakfast was excellent and staff were helpful and pleasant.
There was only one bedside light to speak of well that's one light with a very dim bulb and thick shade so pretty useless. We enjoy reading in the evening so not much use. The front of hotel looks shabby which is a shame and no longer has the attractive pub sign and signwriting.

Although the rating is poor overall the man behind the desk was as mortified as we were and tried his best to sort this issue out and was very quick to refund our payment.
We were double booked and there were no other rooms available at the Old Mill. However we fotunately found a room elsewhere but it was more expensive.

Good location but 10 minute walk to town centre.
A working shower. At first there was no water at all. The manager from another hotel got it running but it was only a trickle.

Lovely location, comfortable bed, lovely staff
Rooms severely dated and need maintenance... £105 for a room with a taped window and peeling walls.. Tried turning a tap on and the entire tap rotated.

the young staff notably Lauren and Matt were excellent. There were faults in the room which I pointed out, they passed the details to management who did nothing about them for the the five days I was there. Management could well be replaced by staff
These were : neither the mirror light nor the main light of the toilet worked at all, Washed and shaved in dark, The bedside lamp worked by my taking out and putting back its bulb, The TV remote did not work, the bedding was inadequate.
The breakfasts were superb Lauren and Mat could not have done more

Breakfast and all meals were well cooked
Staff were friendly
The shower in our room did not provide more than a very tepid shower
Menu items were unavailable quite often

The Old Mill hotel is set in an excellent location. The food served was very good. The hotel itself could do with updating. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, but they appeared under staffed.
The steep stairs.

Had veggie breakfast was fab took a while but cooked fresh worth the wait. Last day dining room not open due to staff shortage. Idilic river location with view of Cathedral where constable painted. Easy walk to town. Staff Rachel and Olly were friendly and hard working. Would return back for a drink in beer garden but not to stay
Room needs TLC and a lick of paint. Bed uncomfortable. Menu needs updating still sell faggots! No single malt whisky or much choice in alcoholic beverages. No manager to deal with disgruntled guests. Photos on webside from years ago. This is Fawlty towers!
