Very pleasant hotel with nice wood and stone features and large windows in the main area. Great fireplace to hangout. Convenient ski in ski out once you figure it out (some explaining at front desk when arriving would be nice). Nice buffet breakfast and diner menu with choice of meat, fish or vegetarian adaptable to food intolerances. Good value overall.
You can forget about the the sauna. It's impossible to break a sweat in there as they cap the temperature at 65°C! when a sauna temperature is between 80 and 90°. As a consequence no one is using it or they think it is broken when it is actually a preposterous deliberate choice, even more surprising considering we're in Norway !
Some rooms have a view right on the parking lot unfortunately and don't feel very private but they are still nice and cosy.
It is a bit difficult to get relevant informations when arriving without a car so here it is for those it might help. They are 2 train stations both at equal distance and taxi price. Ringebu is a better choice than Kvitfjell if you take a cab because there is an actual station with a cafe where you can hide from bad weather conditions. And the taxi base is there (but you should book ahead). Kvitfjell is just a stop near the chairlift and the building in front is not a station and you can't get in. If you have a light pack and don't mind taking the free chairlift then Kvitfjell is a better and cheaper choice but keep in mind you will have to walk a few hundreds meters on the slopes to reach the hotel so it won't be easy with a big suitcase. And the chair lift is rather old and small.

This beautiful and comfortable hotel is in the ideal location to enjoy the ski slopes (ski in and ski out). Everything is excellently organised for a perfect ski holiday: the ski rent is around the corner (where there is also a very nice ski bar), the ski-pass can be bought online and collected next to the ski-rent, and the closest ski-lifts (also for blue slopes) are a few metres down. The breakfast is excellent and it is beautiful to start the day with a view on the ski-slopes. All the staff is very kind and professional. The hotel has everything you can desire for a perfect winter holiday!
This is of course not linked to the quality of the hotel, but it would have been helpful if we had known in advance more information on how to reach the hotel from Kvitfjell station. We arrived after 5pm and we realised that there wasn't an actual station: everything was shut down and we didn't know where to stay while waiting for the taxi to arrive from the closest village. If travelling by train, I would strongly recommend to book a taxi in advance (the price was around 40£ from the station to the hotel, for a 20 minute drive).

I can't believe how great the staff were here. My airline lost my luggage, and one of the staff members offered her snow gear in the meantime! That was beyond kind and generous. The location is amazing, beautiful view, right on the slopes, great restaurant and pool. But the staff were the best!!
